This was one of the first off-road routes I drove with my Jeep, or not. The Jeep was just a week old and I wanted to try it out a bit.
After what felt like countless switchbacks, I arrived at the top of Monte Cesen and stood in front of the locked pasture fence. That it is allowed and usual to open this for the passage (and then of course to close again) I was not aware at the time, so I turned back without having achieved anything. Maybe it was better that way, because it was already getting dark and I would have had to drive the off-road part in the dark.
This time, however, the conditions were better: First, it was during the day in beautiful weather, second, I knew that I was allowed to open the barrier and third, I also had my son with me, so I did not even have to do it myself ...
From the village of Valdobbiadene on tar seemingly endless 16 hairpin bends up to Monte Cesen (1570m), which you pass about 70 meters altitude below the summit. On the ascent you can enjoy great panoramas over the northern Italian landscape.
At the top, the paved road ends at a parking area for hikers. Passing through a pasture fence, one comes to the graveled descent towards Lentiai.
The route is roughly graveled, but in most sections is easily passable. A few sections, however, require a vehicle with ground clearance, which can also put away somewhat coarser ground well.
On this dry day, the track could be driven with rear wheel drive without any problems. However, in the opposite direction or when it is wet, you could definitely use four-wheel drive in some places.
The route can also be found in numerous guides:

MDMOT: www.mdmot.com/... (By the way, the MDMOT guides are always worth a look. Handy and robust, they can easily cope with a not so friendly contact on the road and give valuable tips! Beside German there are many editions also in English. I simply like them and have them lying around for numerous countries. And no, I get nothing for this hint...)
Denzel: No. 237 - here, however, only the tarred road to the parking lot is described. SG 2-3
And as always there is the track to the video at Wikiloc: www.wikiloc.co...
