I've been a musician since I was 7. I'm 51 now and over the course of that time played 7 instruments, some of them well, some professionally. I can explain many things. I can't explain monte. He's otherworldly. I can't find a better word.
Im so glad to see the comments here, saying what i have said for years, why isnt Monte world famous? Hes gotta be top 10 in the world at making guitars do incredible things. Theres more old stuff creeping onto YT as well as some of his recent live stuff which is great to see.

It amazes me that Monte is not super famous. He is one of the best guitarists in the world, ever. There is not much of his material on the tube and that is also surprising. If anyone is saving anything, please post it for the benefit of the rest of us.
Not only a stellar guitarist, but quite an amazing vocal range, and he writes songs and creates awesome arrangements of the songs he covers. Total package.

Amazing! I live outside of Austin and just discovered him in the last year or so. This is an amazing concert. I have a Home Theater with Surround Sound and would love to purchase a copy of this if it is available for home use.
You can totally hear the Eric Johnson influence. Excellent player. Bravo. The thing that really sucks is when the Fucked up NFL puts no talented rappers like Snoop Dog on a halftime show instead of real talent like Monte Montgomery!!! That sucks when brilliant players can't get well-deserved exposure to a young audience.

@@rockapartie if it was only interns! I see all videos being clipped by editors with 3-4 second frames, nasal passage hair shots during the solos, zooming in on one hand , panning the audience, showing the drummer during a guitar solo, and vise versa, the from behind shots , panning the band like the camera guy is getting set up, and my all time favorite... a sky view of the event from 5 miles away. At least the psychedelic flower power quick frames are gon, but so is the music. There, that,s my rant, I feel better !
