This is the video from the capital of Uruguay - Montevideo. A calm city, combining the ancient and the modern. We visited theaters, squares, parks and beaches. We took time to explore the iconic Estadio Centenario (in Spanish: Estadio Centenario, centenario - century)
It is a football stadium in Montevideo, Uruguay. The national team of Uruguay and "Peñarol" play their home matches there.
It was built on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the first Uruguayan constitution and was inaugurated exactly 100 years after its signing - on July 18, 1930 with a match of the first ever World Cup.
We rode the extremely well-arranged public transport, relaxed in the cafes, walked around the center...
Nice city, great memories!

"Peñarol" has its own stadium, it was named "Campeon del siglo", glad you had the opportunity to visit the city in which I was born, hope you had a nice time!

Thanks! Montevideo is a wonderful city and we loved it!!! We know that from March 28, 2016 "Peñarol" has a new stadium, yes!

@@KirilAleksandrov glad you liked the city, there are many great places to visit for everyone's personal taste, it helps when someone can guide you so you can get a glimpse of different neighborhoods and their hidden gems. Depending on your interests you may find places that might be to your liking.

@@marossi0814 You are absolutely right. Each capital deserves at least 6-7 days to be explored in a little more detail. Unfortunately we could only spare two days of our 30 day trip through Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay. We tried to visit all the sights that we found information about on the Internet and we do not regret it. We probably missed a lot of worthwhile places, but we left with great memories of Montevideo.

No no . Montevideo es una ciudad bonita y limpia. Quienes critican deberían viajar más por el mundo y ver cuántas ciudades más sin apoyo hay.

La lastima es que Montevideo no refleja lo que es el buen nivel de vida y prosperidad del pais. Es hermosa ciudad pero la intendencia la tiene sucia, con graffities x todos lados, basura y con poquisima frecuencia de barrido, paradas todas rotas, calles rotas, veredas rotas, etc. Lamentable como esta mantenida.

Montevideo es hermosa y limpia, al menos donde estábamos. El graffiti está en todas partes del mundo, a veces incluso ha alcanzado el nivel de arte. Nos sorprendió que todas las fuentes que vimos estuvieran funcionando. No había personas sin hogar tiradas en las calles principales, al menos no tantas como en Brasil y Argentina. El transporte público es cómodo y puntual. Bueno, lo contaminamos un poco tirando arroz en la cabeza de los recién casados... :)
