This is my first video and I wasn't at all serious about it myself. It was just goofing around with the voice cloner, obviously there's a lot of issues you could point out there and then and if I had to remake one now it'd be a lot better, but hey let's just enjoy it (or not). I believe he is refering to the Queen Consort, Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon aka the Queen Mother. As Elizabeth was still the heiress presumptive in 1945, she would be referred as "Her Royal Highness", not "Her Majesty". That style of address was reserved for ther mother and her grandmother, Queen Mary. The King, if still alive (I never played the game so it's just assumption on my part), could have ordered the rest of the Royal Family to be evacuated to Canada and stayed behind to sign the surrender, as I believe the Nazis would have demanded. But... it's alternate History, so he could be refering to the late Elizabeth II anyways. This is fiction. @@houssamassila6274
In fact it was quite difficult to create this, as Montgomery was a very expressive man and there weren't a lot of references where he speaks very calmly, it was in fact easier to mimic him with emotions.
@@Epentibiconsidering that in the game he is depicted as a traitor and or a flawed men at best. Makes it even better, because you have to lay constraint in your emotions. To fit such a imagine of a bootlicker.
Not to me. It sounds like someone who is definitely not Montgomery, maybe not even British, reading too quickly off a page with little expression. The beginning isn't too bad but the middle and end just aren't even close. Maybe the technology will get better in the near future. There are a lot more than just tone that goes into what a person sounds like. Maybe soon things like cadence, diction, timing, etc will be implemented and improved upon.
@@L_Train The voice sounds American. Definitely not the British "received pronunciation" that was used in BBC broadcasts in the 40s, but closer to the CBS equivalent.
This is very cool, but I think it also shows that voice AIs so far have been mostly design to emulate American accents. In both the announcer and Montgomery you can hear a bit of an American accent on some words, like an American attempting a British accent. (Obviously, this isn't something you can really help, but I just found slightly noticeable.)
@@ps2bndled You may be right, but Montgomery did not have a Trans-Atlantic accent. (Correct me if I'm wrong, but Trans-Atlantic accents seemed more an American thing overall.)
I don't even understand why you say "A BIT of an American accent on SOME words". I'm an American, and to me this just sounds like an American WASP--vaguely British-ish, but overwhelmingly American. And the BBC reporter? He sounded 100% American to me, to the point that I was honestly confused at the beginning.
@@warman1944 I agree with you, at first I thought it was a y... an American reading this. Not remotely English and mont'y had a very particular voice. It's quite scary If you think how fast these things are evolving though - In five to ten years these sort of spoofs might be indistinguishable from the real people - Then what happens to history.
@@salvini2809 i think that it was mixed feelings, in TNO lore Britain was in terrible situation at the ending of the war since they were cutted from their colonies and because kriegsmarine controled ocean it was hard for USA to supply Britain and the german army were experienced good suplyied by Caucasian oil and prepared well. So brits were in a little better situation that soviets and were fighting for every single street in blodlly fights against stronger enemy and was in literally hell so they will be happy that it's all over. But at the same time they would be angry and sad because they screwed up empire that was existing and dominating for hundreds of years the empire their fathers and grandfathers fought for, they screwed it up againist country they beated once, and now everything that was creating for all of this years is lost his magity left them and now they are alone in new world in ruins of something they fought for.
Montgomery says that 'her majesty' and her family were evacuated to canada, is this just a mistake or is this a deliberate decision, maybe king george died in the blitz whilst staying in london and elizabeth had to ascend to the throne
@@ellisonsimon true when you play the game if HMMLR wins the prime minister of your choice and the Queen become monarch again as there's multiple Prime minsters who can rule the UK communists, facists, democracy ect if your collab England Germans try you enforce nazi policy which you have can either refuse to avoid nazi intervention or let Nazis take over.
I strangely find the that fact that he repeats the line "it is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that i bring this to you" twice, quite emotional, its as if he's stopped reading a script and spoke freely at the end, dumbfounded at what to say next he cant think of anything but to say the same thing again, stuttering the second time.
one of the harder hitting parts of this is that historically montgommery was a very energetic and loud man so hearing him so baseless and dejected is a subtle but definitive sign something is very wrong v good video, your editing fucks
To think that every time a peace conference happens in HOI4, something like this is played on the radio. I haven’t even played TNO, but I play a lot of vanilla where I win WW2 as Germany. For me it’s just moving divisions and painting the map. But every time a nation surrenders, millions of people hear statements like this
I gotta admit, although the emotions of the AI voice aren't very expressive and does sound like he's forced to make a message, I've got to say and not deny that it got Montgomery's voice on point realistically still. This is such a well made alternate history scenario video, most of your videos are, well done.
As a kid in the1960's I heard Monty speak many times. He lived until 1976 and he made many TV & radio appearances before his death. He was in fact famously known for his very distinctive stilted manner of speaking which was instantly recognisable to most Brits. Most Yanks think that an English accent is and English accent they do not appeciate that for such a small country England has a huge range of local dialects as well as those that reflect a persons social class. These tend to be very obvious to the English ear. Monty wasn't any different his English accent reflected his colonial childhood as well as his membership as a young man of the Edwardian military officer corps. I am afraid that this impersonation sounded nothing like him. AI isn't as smart as you think.
"Terrorists. Parasites. You come to free your ilk? Well, as you drag your filthy feet across these halls, remember that you trespass against a man who built a civilization. A civilization to dwarf all others. Remember this, when I release the Machine Men..."
0:57 I had to do a double take at the HM the Queen line. That means King George VI was probably killed in a Luftwaffe bombing and Elizabeth became Queen... at the age of 19. Or it just meant HM Queen Elizabeth (the Queen Mother) and young Elizabeth and Margaret.
It's scary to imagine what could have been if this had happened. I was born after the end of WW2 and my world would look normal to me, but to those born before 1930 the UK would have been a very different place to the one they grew up in.
Brilliant once again, loved the classic documentary style map shown in the thumbnail especially. I don't like the portrayal of Montgomery but that's a problem with TNO not your vid. Just a couple of corrections: 0:56 it would be his majesty King George VI as he did survived WW2 and went into exile with his family and died in Canada in 1952. Where Queen Liz becomes Queen of the commonwealth. I know this hasn't been implemented yet but the Welsh shouldn't have been mentioned with the Scottish and Irish at 2:31 as Wales is being removed sometime in the future and just becoming apart of England (which is a good thing considering how retarded current Welsh lore and it's worrying portrayal of the Nazi being liberators from England).
@shen4379 Nearly every single thing apart of the lore I have an issue with. Let's go through every English leader and tell you my problem with them. Macmillian: Shouldn't be a collab leader. Man openly stated he'd fight with a communists to combat Facism and was on a list of politicians that Germany would "imprison" (read killed) if they ever invaded the UK. There's no way Macmillian should be alive and if he was, he'd certainly be a memeber of HMMLR. Margaret Thatcher: Horrible blackwashing of her character, she wasn't some authoritarian dictator who wanted to restore the British empire, her OTL rhetoric also wouldn't appeal to anyone in the 60s. She simply comes far too early to become a viable candidate fot prime minister. Also, the woman who donated a crap ton to save a Jewish family in World War 2 and someone who opposed German reunification due to her experience in the blitz shouldn't be a collab leader. She'd fit better as a small member of the resistance. Maulding: very odd choice for the "wholesome chungus collab reform path" considering he was a corrupt, incompetent tory that inadvertently started The Troubles (he was Northern Irish secretary and was responsible for Bloody Sunday). It's a gross mischaracterisation to have him of all people as a Liberal. Also, Keith Joseph is portrayed as a collborator because he was on the right side of the Conservative party. Problem is he's Jewish. Why would the nazis allow a Jew into their collab government? Jellicoe: Shouldn't be a party leader, he was an aristocrat fuckboy OTL who joined the party for the cheese and parties more than actually being a politician. There's no way he'd get his shit together and be able to be an actual prime minister. Wilson: Wilson abolishing the monarchy is retarded on some many levels. Not was Wilson himself a monarchist with one of the closest relationships with her majesty Queen Elizabeth II (who is mentioned to be widely respected by even hardcore socialists in TNO) but he was also pragmatic (hell Wilson's entire minigame is about sidelining extermists within his own party). He wouldn't risk the opposition turning more radical by abolishing the monarchy. Even if we do give by TNO's logic of abolishing the monarchy, the fact he can abolish the monarchy yet can't abolish the house of Lords is incredibly stupid as the house of Lords would be far easier to get rid of. Yet it's kept because "it would prove to diffcult to get rid of". Plus, a red monarchist Britain is far more intresting than boring Cromwell larp.
@@3.2187_Kilometres Yeah I do notice that Thatcher is some sort of a nationalist, and in no way would transfer British sovereignity to the Germans. Also the same opinion for Wilson.
There is a risk that in 20,000 years time an archaeologist sifting through ancient servers after the devastation of world war 3 and a rise in sea levels thinks this was a real event.
@@Reinhard_Erlik I don't think they will. If there is still a human race then, I think they'll write off all historic data as unreliable due to the revisionist documentaries and AI.

Not really, Germany never had the ability to stage a full blown invasion of Britain, their Navy was too small in comparison to the Royal Navy, the RAF had better planes / advanced technology and the Germans didn't have the ability to transport their troops over into England while under Royal Navy / Army bombardment (they would have had to use little civilian tug boats) It would have been a suicide mission putting the German Army on the English Channel with the Royal Navy, even if the RAF did fall - the majority of the German soldiers would have ended up at the bottom of the channel. By miracle if they did land, they would have been trapped in England, leaving the continent unguarded. This is why Hitler always aimed to make the UK leave the war on its own terms, he never wanted to invade - it was a fantasy.
It's such a relief that Germany didnt invade and as a result of the decadence of ALL British Governments, and the inveigling of jewish cultural marxists, in the 78 years after WW2, Britain got to be homosexualised, Islamised and made negroidal isnt it?
Am I the only one worried that if AI gets too good it might discredit video evidence altogether? Imagine a future in which cops with cameras on them change the video to show the kid shot at them instead of them shooting first and planting the gun. If video doesn't lie that might settle it then right?
Every time I hear this announcement,I feel very sad.I know it was an AI's voice, not Montgomery's real voice...But can you imagine it?A world where freedom fell to the Black Sun.Imagine being a British soldier and you hear your Marshall annouce the surrender of your nation. All hopes, all dreams crushed. What a nightmarish world.
nah. Donitz or Keitel didn't become a "Petain" of Germany, so why would British Generals be?. Instead they'd probably install Mosley as a PM or hold elections a few years later.
No, this is supposed to mirror Keitel's surrender to allies in real life. AKA actual governmant of the Britian refused to surrender, but they are powerles/fled from the isles. And there is no possible way for Britian to continue to fight. So the British Armed Forces surrender instead. Just like how Wehrmacht surrendered in real life.

@declangaming24 it's possible Churchill would have been arrested or handed over by the US if they remained out of the European theatre, and now had to find out a routine of trade and possible co-existence with a new Nazi-dominated Europe.
One problem: the BBC logo should not be that. That is the modern one today. They did not have one in 1945 but instead a coat of arms. Their first logo however was really sick, it was a compass with wings. Look it up!
Fought is a bit over the top. She never saw combat. Women in the ATS performed ancillary duties during the war and her service in the ATS was more of token as her appointment was honorary.
Sounds great, one tidbit i could hear is that he said "Her majesty the Queen" which she didn't become Queen until 1952 in our timeline. I suppose this being some alternate history sort of thing you could argue she became Queen earlier but was just one possible error i thought i might mention.
Just listened to this; I’ve always been interested in counter-factuals. As to the present point (HM The Queen), I had assumed that this meant that in the reported fighting in London King George VI had been killed and therefore the young Princess Elizabeth had succeeded to the throne.
On a different note, this sounds absolutely terrifying. I expect a lot of unsavory groups will use AI like this to rewrite history and try to subvert horrible events or people to fit their agenda. There should be a mandatory disclaimer in every video like this saying that it's fictional and made by AI.
@gustaffring no. He's not. It's ridiculous that he expects there to be a disclaimer. Especially when the video being a work of speculative alternate history fiction is blatantly obvious.
So, this is only the second video I've seen from this channel, and I have to ask: is there a complete alternate timeline? Like, does this channel have its own lore? I ask because he mentioned "The Queen" and the Royal Family fleeing to Canada, but why does Britain have a Queen in 1945?
I like the notion on the map that there were some random pockets of resistance including strangely, a bulge tripoint from Hesketh Bank to Blackburn to Fleetwood

May I suggest you to put a short description about TNO in video description. Just in case about anyone who watch this video doesn't know anything about TNO or even misunderstanding this as a real footage.
At some points, Monty sounds surprisingly casual about announcing British surrender, when I imagine someone like him would rather have the bullet rather than utter these words. I saw a comment saying he sounds like he is being held at gunpoint because the AI sounds stiff, and it reminded me of the German surrender in "Der Untergang", in which General Weidling, surrounded by Soviets, faints after is he done speaking.
She was the successor legitimate but in TNO-TL. She was replaced by Edward VIII because Britain surrender for the first time result of the war. So the Queen gets exiled to Canada or Iceland as a legitimate Queen.
@@PitunghereTNOschizo100 basically what happens is queen Elizabeth goes to Canada with various members of the government and prime minister churchill who is never mentioned.
