I live about an hour from there and have been there a few times and I love it! Very interesting and I'm a 13 year old saying this. Went there on a field trip.

The home of James Madison is not far away, little less than an hour, it's also a great tour. I love the new visitors center for Monticello. I used to live in the area. Great area if you go back!

It was really fun watching your video of Monticello... We now live in the state of Montana but grew up in Charlottesville. We used to live just down the road from Th. J's home off Rt. 53. Glad to hear you and your family enjoyed it. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

Just FYI for anyone planning to go Monticello, it is in Charlottesville, VA, not Lynchburg as you said in the last video. Also, Ash Lawn is an easy visit from here, and it's the home of James Monroe. I grew up literally on the other side of the mountain from Monticello, so this is home for me. 😄

LOL, no biggie! Jefferson did have another smaller home in Lynchburg, and you can tour it, too, so I didn't want folks thinking of going to Monticello to get confused.
