Good morning, really enjoying being in Montreal with you. Noticing the signage on buildings generally more subtle than Toronto. Love this mid rise neighborhood!

Hi Johnny, The third levels are accessed from the second level verandas. There is usually a narrow staircase leading to a set of two doors to the two third-level units.

We had a warm , no snow month of December but we got A record of 75 cm of snow in January ... Montreal is built on an Island 10 times bigger than Manhattan with 19 boroughs built for families and quality of life .. Mile end area is also a cool place to walk . These 3 storey houses are usually very large inside with high ceilings .. The 3 rd floor is accessible from a staircase on the second floor . You will find very expensive ones on Carre St Louis , St- Denis , Sherbrooke street down . You will find the same staircases everywhere in Manhattan and Brooklyn . Montreal is a mix of London ( old Montreal , Mc Gill university area , Westmount and Sherbrooke street ) , P. A mix of Paris ( City hall ) , Chateau Ramsey etc with cafes and amazing chefs and restaurants .Old Montreal is more London Architecture . Some houses still have the gates for horses access of the 17th and 18 th centuries

The staircase entrances to homes and shops is truly a 'French' thing. I guess it goes to say that people with mobility issues would find it hard to live in this area. Super quant though.

love Montreal. but you compare Montreal to toronto a lot. such a disservice ;). Montreal is proud of its culture and models itself after European cities......toronto - always has, always will - have NYC envy bigger is better regardless of the cost. build towers. destroy neighbourhoods for fresh glassy condos........and yes, I live in toronto lol lol
@jeanbolduc5818
@jeanbolduc5818 Год назад
Montreal is mix between London ( Old Montreal ) Paris for its sophistication and New York for downtown with a central park , built on an Island with 400 years of architecture and rich culture and history . also Montreal like Manhattan is walkable . You find the same résidentiel architecture of staircases in Manhattan .. Montreal is a greener city than Toronto and all 19 boroughs are built for families and parks .. You may have a picnic with wine and beers in all parks in Montreal you cannot have alcool in parks in Toronto
@JohnnyStrides
@JohnnyStrides Год назад
Well in fairness I think nearly everyone compares wherever they visit to their hometown. I also only spend a minute or so on each video talking about it, not really a big deal. As for NYC envy, I think that's hilariously off base and just something others from outside of TO think. Montreal and Toronto are both great towns in their own right, but I know where I'd rather live ;)
@JohnnyStrides

Well you couldn't even go outside at night in Montreal during the pandemic so there's that 🤣
