La Superba caresses my heart, gently pries it open, and fills it with love, uniting me with her God and mine. She was spendid. I do not for an instant fault God for calling her home to sing for him.
bravo très belle interprétation Montserrat au sommet de son art. Chorégies d'Orange 1972 - L.SPIESS(manrico)- P.GLOSSOP (luna)- I. ARKHIPOVA (azucena)- N.ZACCARIA (ferrando) - French National Orchestra- dir R. GIOVANINETTI
This is one of my favorite scenes in all of Verdi. Mozart is famed for his ability to combine voices in ensembles, but the Mozartian ensembles have such heavenly harmony that I rarely get the sense of the individual characters interacting. (He also tends to pair voices in the ensembles, which muddies their individual motives.) There are only three voices here, but I love the push and pull of their complex interactions. Leonora and Manrico's vocal lines seem to gravitate towards each other, and there's the sense of the poor Count always trying to butt into their world. At the same time, Manrico and the Count have a rich frission in their vocal interplay, which of course there should be, as they are rivals and (subliminally, at this point) siblings. Verdi portrays all of that, and the rhythmic drive is incredible. However -- the only truly satisfying reading (for me) is the one with Karajan and Callas, because he keeps the tempo at a fairly steady pace. I realize that it's traditional have extreme tempo changes in this scene, but that doesn't do it for me -- for me, that deflates the drama. As for the performance at hand, Caballe is a fantastic Leonora, at least at this phase in her career, and this scene shows off the strengths of her voice beautifully: long, aching lines and beautiful coloratura. Thanks for the upload.
Lohengrin O - I love your devotion to La Stupenda and your research in accumulating these wondering recordings. Such a voice, such beauty, such drama...... Thank You
Caballe actually looks beautiful and elegant here...And her singing is so refined and ethereal. I normally baulk at too much pianissimo in Verdi's music, but here it is perfectly blended into the score. Her phrasing at 2:14 is absolutely exquisite. Thanks so much for these Caballe videos, it really reminds me why I fell in love with her voice :)
Nacidodelmar she's taken she has two children the grandchild get over it she passed away two months ago love her from afar. Everyone in Spain loves her all over the world even the Japanese love love love makes the world go round All You Need Is Love Don't State the obvious please it hurts my ears Lohengrin takeover I'm tired!
Maravillosa. La Caballé, única e insuperable!!!! Es la voz de un ángel. Parafraseando éste fragmento de ésta ópera,.y escuchando cantar a Caballe "no sabemos si ella ha bajado del cielo, o estamos en el cielo con ella".
Lohengrin O maybe you explained it on other videos, but I couldn't find it, and also I'm not complaining, just out of curiosity: why these uploads don't informe us the piece's details like name or date? Any special reason? ps.: I love your uploads, titles and description.
1. I dont always remember, 2. People are so k nowledgable they always report it, 3. They add up to the mystery and enhance the overall listening effect
dimibohm youtube is a website where people exchange videos and other materials at their own discretion of course there are polices about the nature of the materials but none dictate that Lohegrin O. or anyone else have to follow any particular memo or any rules to share what they want to. I personally enjoy the way he or she present those MAGNIFICENT documents, I detect certain sense of humour freedom and a tremendous confidence. Let us all enjoy and learn..
Moi, je l'ai reconnu d’après sa taille imposante, d’après sa carrure et biensur d’après les traits du visage, et moins d’après sa voix. Il était un ténor roumain.
This is impeccable. Art in its highest form. (Though I will be eviscerated for this comment , I feel in the latter part of her career, her voice always sounded a bit unsupported.)
vivemafille when she was 36 years old and at the height of her career she had a cancerous tumour removed from her throat, but for her to come back from that and continue is nothing short of incredible.
truly a Balm for the Soul Caballe was... and before her flaws become gigantic she was really a miracle to listen to and after her flaws became gigantic even then she could produce singing of extreme Beauty.. this is later but probably her most gorgeous singing ever recorded: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mrbWCvinyc4.html&lc=z23jexorxv2hzd33zacdp43agjmmj51glgqlbpcjlidw03c010c

In my humble opinion, she did not even have to try acting, because all the acting came across her voice. Even when I do not understand the words, I know what she is singing about. Her soul was always in it.
