100% agree. Best Suns move ever was getting rid of Monty Williams. He should have been gone after Suns lost to Milwaukee in playoffs. Next season getting owned by Mavs, definitely should have been gone. They wasted another season with him.
I had Monty Williams fatigue after the Finals season. He was always preaching about being a great person and other righteous BS. Dude’s substitutions were terrible and the fact he’d always play Landry Shamet was insane. And he would always be crying about something on the post game interviews. Not crying as in complaining, but literally crying. AND he’d never curse smh dude I’m glad that era has passed.
Monty was a good talker and that's the extent of it. I feel bad for detroit except that they were foolish enough to sign him. Wait for this young talent to leave and go to other teams
Feels like Detroit is in a cycle of awful players making it impossible to coach which then creates players who are worse. Monty coached a finals team and now it looks like this? Playing 11 players double digit minutes because no one can stand out? I hope for Detroit's sake they get a gem in the draft
Monty Williams was good when he coached the Phoenix Suns, but he should be fired by the Detroit Pistons. He should have stayed in Phoenix. They were 64-18 two years ago, went to the Finals three years ago.
This guy makes sense sometimes but let’s not act like coaching is simple. At the end of the day you can say all the right things but if the team lacks talent then no amount of coaching is gonna propel them to being a contender.
