i've watched the first 4 minutes of this video about 10 times and every time I get completely distracted by my Mood MkII pedal and go wandering around on my own for hours…
You have a point, but Behringer also makes pretty decent stuff with a price point that’s probably 1/5 what chase bliss pedals cost. I am a regular dude. I LOVE effect pedals. Especially delay based ones. Chase Bliss blow the competition away when it comes to delay pedals. But I know I’ll probably never get to own one. And that can be a bummer. Mind you, they deserve every penny of it. But it is very much so out of a lot of musicians price range.
Hey y'all, love the video! Just bought my Mood MK2. Can't wait. Quick question - what brand cables do you use in the video and where can I buy them? Thanks!
I love this but, I have a red panda tensor so I dont need a micro looper, a meris lvx so dont need delay, a gen loss mk2 so that covers all tape needs, and a zoia for crazy stuff. However, I still want an OUTWARD V2 but as a chase bliss pedal, and a really nice reverb pedal with a nice spacey reverb. Yes the Zoia can do crazy granular delays, but reverb? Meh.
For a long time I thought that MOOD was just a one-trick granular-youtube pedal, but this manual really shows how vastly versatile it is. Even with just the wet channel you get an incredibly varied verb/delay/modulation machine!
Hold on a second... I haven't kept up with Chase Bliss (or many pedal companies) in about 2 years now. Did this guy say _STEREO??_ Did I hear that right? I remember when that word needed a trigger warning before use around Chase Bliss personnel. Nice!
Quick question: are the deep switches (and hidden options) saved in the presets? I mean, if I engage deep switch A and save that in a preset, is it going to be engaged when I use the preset even if the deep switch A is no longer active?
So glad to see this pedal go stereo, looks awesome. It's too bad though that a lot of loopers seem to support up o X4 faster playback modes instead of X4 slower or -2 Oct down, this is where some magic can happen imo, but rarely do I hear nice sounding material at X4 faster.
@@pepejul I pre-ordered a couple hours after they announced it on launch day. I know they said in an email some people may get it summer time but I don't think it'll be that long.
I just got an email saying they're being shipped. I figured that mine would have been shipped too then. I placed my order March 15, 2023 at 11:12am Eastern Standard Time. That was 12 minutes after the release. I hope I didn't slip through the crack. My order says confirmed, but it still says 'Pending Fulfillment'.
You will receive a shipment notification as soon as your pedal ships! If you don't receive a notification by the end of next week (4/28), shoot us an email at help@chasebliss.com and let us know!
@@ChaseBlissAudio Awesome! I'm looking forward to it! Thanks for your reply! I get that you probably got quite a few orders in the first 12 minutes, so I'll be patient. I just got a bit worried that my order may have slipped through the cracks. Chase Bliss is my favorite pedal company. I own more Chase Bliss pedals than any other brand. I own 8 of them, and I hope to own them all someday. Thanks again for the reply! It's very much appreciated.
Generally, mic signals are a little too low to be processed by pedals straight out. We recommend using a mic preamp before MOOD. The Rolls MP13 or ART TubeMP are both pretty affordable options that will also give the option for 1/4in unbalanced output to interface with pedals after.
Im pulling my hair out waiting for mine to get in. It doesnt come in until late afternoon tuesday. Thats 4.5 days away. Its to long to wait. By the way i have to give a shout out to chase bliss. Best customer service from any company ive dealt with. Any issues you run into they will take care of it for you
Okay so I'm an idiot. Can someone explain this probably simple concept to me...the output of the TRS cable on the Mood, what is it going into that is able to give a stereo sound from a single input?
Smooth clock, overdubbing on looper, you can switch looper modes without dropping your audio, no clock noise, longer loop lengths, MIDI clock sync, and more
@@ChaseBlissAudio Would be cool to have spillover on the Wet Channels modes..but don't know if you could technically do it?...Also tap tempo .Other than that I'm nitpicking..the amount of new and improved features are amazing..well done guys🤘
@@ryanworthley4555 Oh yes I know about the trails option.. Ok my hunch was correct,it's not possible for effects spillover.. Cool about Midi tap tempo..will surely implement it if I hook up midi on it.. cheers.. Ps:Do you know if Ping Pong will work if you are running a stereo pedal into Mood 2?..I am planning to have it second into my stereo pedals...
@@patrickr6505 how wide the spread is with an incoming stereo signal is determined by how wide the signal is the begin with. So to get true left and right ping pong with a stereo input source the pedal will need to be feed a super wide sound. Mono in with the MISO and SPREAD dips on will give you left to right ping pong sound.
Not to be a dick about it and this truly is a serious question. At what point are devices like this just a prefab, boxed random creativity generator at a premium price? The sounds are super cool but what does the out put have to do with the actual creative input of the user other than some knob tweaking?
Not to be a dick about it and this truly is a serious answer. You don’t have to buy it if you are focused on personal self-imposed micro-ethics rather than creating beautiful sound.
@@sub-jec-tiv Please don't misunderstand me, this is one hell of a devices and the output is stunning but there does come a place with self generating systems, which I hope we can agree that this is, that the input doesn't matter. These systems have been around for a while and I have no innate disapproval or disagreement with the general concept and have built many myself. With these systems the manipulate sound generated by the initial input is so substantially modified that the system itself then creates the actual composition. That is sort of the point. Back in the day it was done with delay loops and triggered gates, side chained compressors etc. but in the past these systems were the part of the creation and were generated specifically for an individual piece and were the result of a lot of time and creative engineering. Digital has changed all that and now we have these amazing devices that are basically plug and play. My question is if you have this amazing device that all you have to do is throw in a couple of notes to achieve this amazing output the parameters of which are defined by the architecture of the device itself where is the true authorship of the output? The question is not about ethics (micro or macro) but about the place of the creator when presented with such powerful tools and how does personal creativity not get subsumed by the tool.
@@Disgustedbutnotyetamused I think that you nailed it in calling the MOOD a tool. It is used to work on a certain task, this one being creative output, but it does not accomplish the task without a user. Another way to think about this would be an interactive instrument to be played with your initial audio input, and I do believe the MOOD gives more than enough control to sufficiently play it as an instrument. A contrary example might be the Microcosm (no offense meant sorry!), which generates incredible sounds but has less control over the way those sounds are finetuned and interact with your incoming signal, hence a little less bidirectional. So in other words, I would think of the MOOD as being as prefab as a synth having oscillators or a guitar being prepared to sound. It'll make sound, but it definitely takes some creativity to do something aesthetically engaging with it.
@@jesseasch-ortiz6136 Thanks for the reply and I take your point of it being a tool. I rewatched the tutorials and there is definitely more than enough potential for manipulation and control to justify defining the device an instrument unto itself. I have no doubt that in the right hands it could be an amazing tool. There is always that point with electronic music where you see the new technology transcend from the stage of being a cool technical exercise to being an artistic tool that allows for something truly unique to be created. I would have to take the dance to know but I do fear she is too much lady for me however. I look forward to seeing what people are able find.
thanks!... it's not that the pedal is complicated... I think it is because I'm a bit stupid... or slow... I really want to know as much as possible before i play around with it any more... im going to have some midi questions in a while... I think I'm going to have it on a table and press the buttons with hand rather than foot like @Jorb does... 'cos even though I'm a guitarist i can see that I'm going to want to change the knobs real time... or automate them via a midi controller... @@ChaseBlissAudio
@@ChaseBlissAudio Great, I got loads of those. I need a special box to use midi clock sync though, is that correct? ((it remains to be seen whether there is any point having Mood clock synced though).
@@PhilippeGiron You can use a chase bliss compatible 5pin - TRS cable, but using these sometimes you can get a cable wired incorrectly or it intrdouces noise since it's not opto-isolated. The MIDI box just removes headaches before they happen.
We recently switched to a direct-to-consumer model. No retailers will have MOOD MKII stock unless someone has sold theirs already. Any orders placed from today on are expected to ship within 4 weeks until we get caught up with preorder fulfilment. If you have any further questions/concerns, please reach out to help@chasebliss.com Thanks!
@@LoVeAmBiEnT I know right?.. Because Ping Pong is technically a mono signal.. just manipulated into offsetting on both channels..as far as I know..I stand corrected if not...
@@patrickr6505 Ping pong does still work in stereo, though slightly differently. The echoes will match your incoming panning depth and use that to set the width of the ping-pong effect. It's pretty dang useful because hard-panned sounds will give you that wide, dramatic swing, while sounds that are panned more gently get subtler stereo movement to match.
what part of the pedal chain does this unit work best? Pre or post dist/OD? If it’s a relative to other modulation types then I would presume it’s probably best at the end of the signal chain right before the amp..
MOOD MKII does everthing MKI can do and more, including but not limited to: smooth clock, overdubbing on looper, you can switch looper modes without dropping your audio, no clock noise, longer loop lengths, MIDI clock sync, and more
"Thank you for your response. I have another question: MKI sounds warmer and more like a vacuum tube, while MKII sounds cooler and more electronic. Is this true, or is it just my impression?"
