Constructive criticism: when you guys use complex sounds into the pedal like reverse delays, it's hard to figure out what is the result of the knob you're moving and what is part of the signal coming in. If the goal is to explain the controls I'd rather hear basic guitar chords into the pedal. Great job with the pedal though, seems amazing :D
I completely agree, with many of the already very processed sounds used for these demos it is often difficult to hear what the pedal is actually doing! The pedal seems fantastic though.
@@matthewdavis473 Right??? Hey CBA can you dumb down your content a little for us basic minded guitar players that don’t know what reverse delay sounds like? Lol it’s not like synth players will buy this pedal anyways.
Just magnificent! The refinements in this pedal really could only ever be the result of an iterative development process driven by creative passion. Thanks to Tom for his beautiful mind, CB for their beautiful business and the experience and love of every previous Gen Loss user for making this version possible.
Every time I see this pedal I just think of the sheer amount of work that has gone into it. That coupled with the incredible creative minds behind it and the HUGE amount of options, this has all made Gen Loss MkII one of the most important pedals ever made. I'm going to need to watch this manual several times for it all to sink in. Congratulations all. ❤️
Hainbach will LOVE this 👍😆 The languid, liquid flow and dreamy drip, drip, drop of this work is so compelling... It's got SO MANY options ...., I'm tempted to re-house it into an angled control panel for easier fritzing.... I'm in love....mmmmm😍
You guys make some of the coolest pedals I've ever heard. I own a few tape machines, and this pedal really nails the sound of tape to an impressive level of detail.
This thing is unbelievable I can just feel how much love and work went into it the sounds are practically dripping with nostalgia and personality. I can see someone truly had a love for this texture and era. I feel the same way about classic video games and love chiptune music different systems and eras had different sound chips with specific qualities which gave them all different feelings and personalities for various reasons like the way the ricoah2a03 had to step it’s triangle wave giving it a very specific tone. My dream is one day someone makes a chiptune pedal this extensive for classic systems like nes and genesis Atari etc. I don’t use PCs or midi but synth wise plagues Chiptsounds is kind for a good reason we need a pedal to match that love and craft!!! So many pedals claim to be lofi ior video game tones and really are not maybe just a fuzz and an octave nothing like the sampled tones would be But wow do I feel that love here that’s what this is for Lofi many many pedals claim to do lofi and kinda do but signal degradation alone doesn’t capture that sounds heck this is pure vaporwave in a pedal it’s magic I tell you I can’t wait to own one Sorry for the long post just so damn excited
I had no issues understanding with headphones on. Everything was concise and clearly explained. I just need to read about the dip switched to better understand that part. Excited to use this soon.
People really complaining that they can’t hear with the pedal is doing is hilarious. Hey Chase bliss. Just do blues licks in riffs please maybe some stairway to heaven, so we can clearly hear what the pedal is doing 😂😂😂😂😂❤
Can’t wait to put so many ppl on with the content I’m gonna make with this pedal. I loved the gen loss chip on the arcade pedal so I know this will blow me away 🤯
So fuggin stoked for this to arrive in the mail… thank you Joel for your brilliant vision, and your willingness to collaborate with, and bring on board, other incredible creators! A real testament to you to be able to create what you do, and also to be able to step aside and let others fully make their own contribution… you guys have changed the game!!
Beyond excited for this pedal! The bits with acoustic guitar were so beautiful (not that the rest wasn't, but acoustic guitar + Gen Loss = audio heartbreak). And is anyone else as pumped as I am to set the tape stop aux function to the slowest onset speed and just hear that failure grind to a beautiful, slow halt?
I got mine today. I've been playing it on its own before it goes into "Phobos" (one of my Experimental set ups. I have a playlist on my channel.) This thing is a blast! Classic mode is super cool. Two crazy, cool pedals in one. Can't beat it.
so so good. i feel very lucky to be living in the same time with so many incredible musicians and engineers making "instruments" like this. PATHFINDERS. thank you. wish i had ordered 2.
I want one even more after watching this. I have to wait a few weeks just to order it. Then...wait some more. It will be worth it, though. It will be fun messing with this and a looper before it goes to its proper home with the Microcosm and Habit.
Just got mine a few days ago- It's a dream! Thank You for this easy to follow video manual- Do you have one for MOOD? I still can't wrap my head around it!
I've been waiting for a new videos with more audio (and features). Now I'm even more excited. Definitely the right decision to pre-order. Keep up the great work. ❤️❤️
Can’t wait to receive this Phil Elverum signature pedal. Been dreaming about a pedal like this since I was 16 years old listening to ‘It Was Hot, We Stayed in the Water.’
This sounds so wonderful, ahhhh end of September get here soon plz! This looks like so much fun, well done demo wise. Really looking forward to this and I know it will be a wonderful exploration of sound when it gets here. ❤️
anybody else noticing some milliseconds of delay between the dry signal and wet signal? it is audible even when switching to NONE (no dry signal mix). so far, the only way I can tune it out is switching to Classic mode. reminds me of input buffering lag on a DAW.
@@ChaseBlissAudio By the way I loved the letter sent out yesterday over email. I have a sister that was born prematurely because a person driving a truck drunk, she’s a beautiful person and we are very lucky to have her around reminding us the beauty of life.
It would be a much better demo if you use a basic sound like a sine wave with a tweaked ADSR to demo the functions. This will make it easier to tell what each function does.
I do wish the mode selector would have been a click pot instead of continuous. What was the reasoning to make it a continuous sweep? that said thank you so much this is such a great video manual! Well done!
Just one of the limitations to working in our form factor. Each mode has a MIDI CC assigned to it as well, so for those who need finer/more exact control, the option is there!
Looks and sounds amazing, eagerly waiting for it !! A quick question at the end what he says that the other dipswitches (not used in the video) are for ramping, right? or is ramping gone? I couldn't understand what he meant.
Firstly let me say that you are all doing some seriously amazing things over there. I love this pedal and am seriously considering picking one up. I have a question though…why is the model knob not labeled or numbered and made to click into each different setting?
No clickable knob because it keeps with the Chase Bliss format, that we don't want to deviate from. Also we didn't add numbered artwork because we want the user to find the sound they like, rather than the specific tape model. That said, each tape model has an associated CC #, so you can be more exacting with MIDI implementation.
Still no exact date, as we are anxiously awaiting the last few pieces of the puzzle to arrive, but we are still expecting to start shipping the first preorder batch by the end of this month!
Sounds amazing! I’m so happy you captured all the Gen 1 and 2 sounds here too and can’t wait for my first batch order to ship! But with so many sound options, will we be able to save MK2 and Original mode presets to recall? I would love to have quick access to both sides of the pedal as presets without having to take apart my pedal board or reach for a screwdriver :)
i assume many of the sound modifications of the pedal are activated randomnly, e. g. with 50% flutter it is not always active but only sometimes. and if its active then it is active with the chosen degree (50% in this example). But how do i control how often it gets activated?
I wonder the noise models in the hidden options can be processed further by the pedal... do they appear at the input or after all other effects? I can imagine performing with this pedal as a sound source (no input) and a Mood Mk2 after it.
well, actually, after revisiting this video, I realize that the noises will be there, after all, whether there's any audio coming in or not, right? I might be getting this as a late birthday present :)
"That's beyond the scope of this video..." RAD. Fifteen minutes cannot cover all Mk II can do. 😈 I'm very much looking forward to mine--paired with CXM 1978 and strymon (cough) Volante... ooh, baby. 😙
