Moode kottige | Soft uddina kottige recipe | Kottige recipe | ಕೊಟ್ಟಿಗೆ | Kadubu recipe with rasayana
Traditional "moode kottige" is a breakfast recipe, which is usually prepared during festivals in south Karnataka and Kerala. It is as simple that the idli batter is poured into "moode" that is prepared with banana leaves. There are 2 best combination with moode kottige are methi rasam and banana rasayanam. These 2 dishes also shown in the same video. Thus, the video includes preparation of moode and moode kottige, methi rasam and banana rasayanam.
Ingredients:
For Moode kottige,
Banana leaves
Urad dal 1/2 cup
White rice 1 cup
Salt to taste
Water
For Rasayanam
Banana 7-8
Jaggery 3pieces
Seseme seeds 1sp
Coconut milk
For Methi sambar
Dry red chilli 3
Methi 1/2sp
Greated coconut 1 cup
Salt to taste
Tamarind
Jaggery
Water

You grind using grinding stone for 40 odd minutes!!! Here in city if four guests come suddenly, people order coffee online!! You live close to nature, work hard and have healthy body, satisfied soul.....we city dwellers away from nature, allergic to physical hard work, very little time and patience and have unhealthy body, suffocated soul. Looks so tempting....you have lot of patience for making elaborate dish with side dishes... V have eaten moode made in coconut leaves and khotte in jackfruit leaves.it was fun to eat food n celebrate festival. Thank you for sharing 🙏

This was a very good dish. We prepared at home today. We tied the ends of the banana leaves with Ikea clips before steaming the kotte idlies. I prepared this dish the second time in two years. But today it came out exceptionally well. We didn't get tender leaves,so it was a challenge. We prepared with aged leaves. Even without salt the kottige idlies tasted perfect, relished them with bassaru.
