Lovely playing. I have the forerunner of the Romany the Cornell Stinger that was a kit from The Guitar magazine in 2000. I will invest in one of these tremelos based on your video.
Thanks Grr Argh, glad you liked the vid. Yeah, I think Mick and / or Dan from That Pedal Show have this Trelicopter one on their smaller boards, when space is at a premium. Anyway, cheers 👍
Thanks for the vid on the trelicopter. I recently discovered a pulsing clicking noise being produced by this pedal even when it is off. This issue is solved by putting a buffered pedal before it in the signal chain. Try it out & let me know. Maybe I have a defective Trelicopter🤷🏼♂️
Plugged quickly in my new Rowin Trelicopter pedal version and had alot of that pulsing clicking. Need to get it sorted out. And Thanks for this guitar Educational channel 🤗👍👍
Some of these mini pedals are amazing...I opened up my Donner tremolo (probably the same as this) and it had the full octocoupler inside. Really clever circuit designs and there really doesn't seem to be a compromise.
@@paulstaffordcook8799 I can really recommend the mosky mini screamer...I've just picked up their Timmy clone for my mini board which is beautiful. (Silver mm drive) I've been on a bit of a mini pedal journey... buying, trying and selling....I've ended up keeping the Donner fuzz seeker, mosky mm drive, mosky blue delay (fantastic pt2399 chip delay, lovely lo-fi repeats) Donner tremolo, and mosky Spring reverb (another PT2399 chip - doesn't really emulate spring or anything else with any kind of accuracy, so not for reverb purists, but in its own right it sounds great. Typical Belton brick sounds) My big board has the TC electronics mocambo (matches the rusty fuzz) which is a great TS style overdrive... it seems to really let the clang through. I should really focus on watching your videos and learning how to play properly! Cheers 😊
1:44 Paul …I saw that 3rd fret 5th 4th string muted harmonics thing 4 times non stop …to enjoy the beauty of that phrase ……upto the 7th fret harmonic ? ….the sleight of hand…pulling the harmonic carpet from below our furniture with us sitting on the chair……the absolute magic of mood EXACTLY at the right time for emotion….that’s when you look at the camera…because it is not accidental. Is it ?
Well thank you neoaureus! I watched it back (1:44) to see what you were referring to…. And yes, I’m delighted you liked that little muted run, ending with the plucked harmonic 😊👍. Makes me smile when listeners notice stuff like that. Thank you man.
I recall experimenting with the Fender Twin tremolo settings, you can get some very impressive effects coordinating your rhythm with the pulse rate - I always liked that effect Johnny Marr obtained with tremolo on 'How soon is now'. some nice playing Paul, classic sounding progression
Thank you LPCustom3. Yes, I don’t have a Computer so I’m limited in how I record things. But maybe that’s a good thing as my watchers can be assured that they’re hearing just amp & guitar “in the room”. Thanks for watching 👍
Great stuff Paul, as always! I thought maybe you’d break into a little Gimme Shelter! The Katana has a nice tremolo but to change anything except the speed you have to go into the parameters via a connection to a computer, pain in the ass. You also have to reach over and turn the knob instead of a stomp switch. I’ve been thinking of a pedal and Moore make pretty decent stuff. Thanks for the review.
Yes, I’ve given that some consideration but I have a fairly large pedal board and really like being able to change the settings. Plus my Tweed Deluxe doesn’t have reverb or tremolo and I play it a good bit. I’d play it nearly all the time if I had an attenuator.
Just looking at this thread.... yeah, it’s interesting, I kinda based my whole RU-vid channel on the idea of “one man and a Katana, who needs a valve amp!” But it seems my journey is still ongoing, like everyone else’s. And so I’ve ended up with 1 Katana and 3 valve amps! Not sure how that happened. I know what you mean Jeff, it’s nice sometimes to stick a pedal of choice into a valve amp. So simple, so controllable and so old school.
Thanks Mike. That intro..... I saw that chord sequence and general vibe on a RU-vid video from Guitar Interactive (Michael Caswell jams with Joe Bonamassa). I liked the vibe so much I thought I’d turn it into a 1 man / 1 guitar thing. 👍
Just listened to House of Broken Love..... I’d never heard of the song or the band until now.... but yes, it’s the same groove 😀, I smiled as soon as it started.
Ah, thank you Tom 👍. Yes, I’ve picked up what I’d call “streetwise” knowledge, i.e. I could talk stuff over with band members. But I’d shrivel and die at the thought of fighting it out with session players in a studio 🤣
Ah, now the Fulltone - yes, that was also on my radar. I think Mick from That Pedal Show was impressed with it, so I might pop into my local guitar store (GuitarGuitar Edinburgh) who have one in stock. Might be worth giving it a whirl 👍
@@paulstaffordcook8799 I love Trems....essential pedal for me as long as it has a volume boost of some sort as they do drop out in the mix without one.The Fulltone is widely regarded as having an "organic" feel and adds a little to the tone in a good way. Of course it's not as versatile in wave forms as some so it depends what you are after...there's also the "harmonic trem" which has made a bit of a comeback and sounds wonderful ( to my ear) with a more univibe (ish) swirl going on. Lot's to choose from. I think Mick uses the Supro Trem.
