I own two newer Moog One 16 (both built in 2020) and they are both very well tuned out of the box. The maximum drift I measured running over the whole range with automatic sampling/batch analysis in WaveLab was below 2 Cents. My OB-Xa shows 22 Cents at the moment and sounds fantastic if you try to avoid some few notes :)) In addition, I played on two other Moog Ones back in 2019, and from what I measured by ear they were also perfectly in tune. I guess all people who buy a Moog One 16 are very talented sound programmers, but I sometimes have the impression that some of them might confuse Detune with BeatFreq? However. The auto calibration is a strange feature which definitely makes the synth less responsive and introduces some pitch slides here and there. Keeping it off, as well as keeping all FX off, and after ignoring all flaws that are well known - the One is my desert island machine. Simply because it's unbelievable versatility and the pure joy of playing are second to none. The last time I was so in love with a synth was back in 1988 when I got my D-50... but that's another story. Thank you @TheOysterhouseBoys for sharing this and uploading your patches. Very welcome!

MFASonic I couldn’t agree more with what you’ve said. I think there were a few tuning issues earlier but the firmware has fixed that as far as I can tell. I have a D59 in my studio as well and love it. Also a great pad machine but the moog is definitely more versatile. I really like the Keynes on the one. Specially the slight texture on the black keys. I’m inspired every time I sit down to play it. Excited right now to hook it up to my modular. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.

I totally get that. But you know what? Sometimes all you want is a burger. I think if I had made these for me they’d have been more adventurous but they were made for a magazine article and they fit that purpose. At least as I was asked for. So yes, they could definitely be more experimental but they are fit for purpose. I guess I need to do another batch just for this channel so I can dig deeper.
