Oscar's English accent in trailers had me worried, but he really made a great choice. It just works so well with the character. Loved this pilot, it felt so much more cinematic than other TV shows, and I'll even excuse the poor CG in the car chase just because of Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go.

I love how they started with Steven instead of Marc! The fact that they showed it from the POV of Marc's alternate personality was a brilliant move! And Khonshu is voiced by F. Murray Abraham which was amazing! Like when he said "DID HE THROW THE GUN?!" in disbelief was so damn hilarious! This is an Egyptian God facepalming basically LOL 😆😆😆

I thought Steven was the host since he has an actual job and most people know him as Steven? Or.. is that Marcs double life ( outside of the mercenary work), and he just applied for a job in Steven’s name because he fronts more often than the others or him in general?

Some information about Ammit. In ancient egyptian mythology when someone dies their Soul is weighted against a feather, to see if it was pure and if it is heavier than the feather, impling that their Soul was not pure, their Soul is eaten by Ammit. That is what happend with that two people in the village, one was pure, the other wasnt. Ammit is also called the devourer of the dead.

I've come to love the Disney plus shows. As we finally begin to dive into Marvel phase 4 it will be great to see how these shows change the landscape of the MCU. Oscar Isaac killed it in this first episode, and it will be great seeing how Moon Knight fits in the large MCU, if at all.

He has a split personality of Steven and Marc. Marc is already the Moon Knight and Steven thinks he just has a sleep walking problem, because he wakes up wherever Marc has been. Everything in the episode did happen and we’re just seeing one of Marc’s missions from the point of view of Steven as they constantly switch control.

This is the first time I've noticed the stuffed spider behind you; he's adorable 😍 Does he have a name? Also, fun fact: in ancient Egyptian religion, Ammit did not judge people. Upon death, Anubis would use the scales to judge whether a heart was worthy (by weighing it against a feather from the goddess of truth). If it was unworthy... Anubis would toss the heart to Ammit to eat, leaving the soul restless for eternity. So here, it seems like they're going with "Ammit got tired of waiting for Anubis to toss her scraps and decided to get an avatar on Earth to judge -- and feed off -- hearts early", which is really cool. I hope (though I'm not holding my breath) they explore how Anubis feels about Ammit stealing his job...

I'm thinking it will turn out Ammit's actions threaten to cause chaos/mass destruction (because she's upsetting the natural order by doing something she isn't meant to) so the Egyptian gods are trying to stop her. Perhaps they entrusted Khonshu with that task and he in turn is acting through his avatar, namely Moon Knight.

Apparently the gaps in memory are pretty accurate to systems who have Dissociative identity Disorder when another personality takes over. Also having difficulty with friendships and relationships. So that's neat! The use of mirrors for showing conversations between the alters is neat. Also, great reaction! Looking forward to more. 🙂

He's not jumping out the window, he's using the door. He's just replacing all the "safety checks" before he lets Steven take over again, so Steven doesn't get suspicious. Same way he replaced Gus, who probably died after 2 days of not being fed.

I'm constantly amazed at how certain other channels and their followers moan and whinge about these shows. Criticism is absolutely permitted but it's unbelievable what enormously creative shows and sheer amount of choice we have now. All they can do is moan. We had nothing like any of this once.

Not fully showing the monsters is so good, anyone who watched X-Files back in the day knows that. Our brains will imagine something more real and scary than CGI, with the benefit of saving them money on a TV show budget. Love it.

Something I loved is how they put us in the perspective of Steven throughout the entire episode. Because Marc is the main host body, and the one who was resurrected by Khonshu, it puts us the viewer in Steven’s shoes as if we’re experiencing his mental troubles and questioning of reality with him. Very genius imo. And I’m sure we’ll get to see Marc’s comic origin and becoming MK (or a version of it) through flashbacks. As someone who’s been a fan of Moon Knight for years, I was incredibly happy with how this first episode was, and love that they saved the suit reveal towards the end. Honestly gets a 10/10 from me

Love this concept where the main character has no idea what’s going on. Kind of hope they continue with this as he starts to learn or figure out what’s going on. Like the time skips or waking up in random places. Also really loving the horror vibes in this episode

That accent is almost spot on. I'm a Brit. Isaac's did such a convincing job. Not perfect but damn it's good. I've heard British actors do accents from around the UK and be less convincing.

Keep in mind, he's not playing a British character. He's playing an American whose alter personality is English; in other words, it's what American Marc thinks English accents sound like rather than an actual English accent. So that's a great excuse for it not being spot on (and in fact, it's how Oscar himself explained it in an interview).

@@IceMetalPunk Pretty much exactly this. Most DID accentwork isn't 100% accurate. It can be very damn close! but USUALLY there will be tiny slip ups or inaccuracies because the accent was usually copied from something a traumatized child saw in the media, ya know? It isn't like it's an actor who can work with a dialect coach to iron out any blips in the accent.

I mean...Mr. Robot was better than this tbh. Or United States of Tara was also a very good one. But this isn't a bad one! Not like Split was. I hope they continue to represent it relatively accurately in this show.
