@@benjaminosterloh3605 Kinda out of place here but if they gave Tawaret a British accent, I'd like to imagine that Anubis has an Irish accent. If we ever get to see the other actual gods instead of their Avatars.
@Spartaximus Not so sure about that. Not all mothers become abusive even if one of their children dies. I daresay she already had some problem before that. A mature person would have realized that her other son wasn't at fault, and she would have grieved instead of blaming him. But since she didn't grieve, neither could he, and that was what triggered his mental condition.
I absolutely love how Marc is just like “what the hell is happening to me???” and Steven is just completely enraptured by the giant talking Hippo goddess
@@emanuelalejandromontoya8726 Hippos really do that, all the face stuff and body language is exactly like a real hippo. They obviously used hippo videos as a frame of reference for her look, but it's great that they didn't do it superficially.
Shes the goddess of fertility and childbirth, therefore shes pretty much a godess of nursing and motherhood. So, like a loving mother holding a child, she would absolutely give the *BEST* hugs.
@@ronanchristiana.belleza9270 One rule : Never made her made, she may cute but the Egyptian didn't make the Goddess of pregnancy and motherhood a Hippo, the most dangerous animal it exist in Egypt for nothing. There more of her in this video : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pYvR9_YgrEg.html
I do like that they acknowledge the existence of other cultures and cultural phenomenons in the MCU, as in how Taweret mentioned the Ancestral Plane of Black Panther. This would mean that everything, I mean the Eternals, Celestials, Egyptian Gods, Wakandan Gods, Superheroes, Sorcerers, and even the Multiverse just exist side by side. Not connected by a higher power/entity, just like animals in an ecosystem
Actually there is a supreme power in Marvel, it is called "The One Above All" (TOAA) it is to the cosmic gods (Death, Infinity, Eternity, Lord Chaos, Master Order, Love, Hate, Galactus, Celestials), who are way stronger than the Earth's religions skyfathers (Odin, Zeus, Yahweh/Allah, Ra, etc.) what the gods are to us humans in terms of power. Many think it is Stan Lee/Jack Kirby, it also has an evil counterpart "The One Bellow All" (TOBA) the origin of gamma radiation and the source of Hulk's infinite power and creation, it is the true Satan of Marvel's demons, it is like a ying/yang thing, TOAA can only create and its weapon is love and TOBA can only destroy and its weapon is hate, every universe in the multiverse has its own version of characters, from Aunt may to the Cosmic gods, but only TOAA/TOBA and its servant: The Living tribunal exist as the same being in the whole multiverse.
Ahem. Bast is an Egyptian goddess. In Marvel, she left Egypt for Wakanda in ancient times. It makes sense that the other Egyptian gods would keep track of what she got up to after leaving. But yeah, it's cool that in the comics, so many gods from other cultures are real. It seems like half of them end up attacking New York at one time or another.
@@JustacityboySatan is a legendary figure equivalent to King Arthur even for demons in Marvel's Hell. Many have tried to pass themselves off as him when dealing with humans but while his legendary throne remains, none can actually remember first hand accounts of him. He's become almost mythical even to demons.
I’m surprise that she’s in the role of guiding people to the dead. Since that’s Anubis department, but people said his statue was in the Giza Pyramid. Makes me wonder who else has been imprisoned, also didn’t think that Taweret would be British. That’s a new one.
Taweret probably had to take on a few additional roles since the gods who would normally handle most of the afterlife business are either imprisoned in stone, or just not doing their job. It makes sense since she did seem to be inexperienced when it came to extracting and weighing the hearts.
The deites of Egypt alone tend to pickup alot of things when they got the time. Im more then impressed on this depiction. Guess she met with one of the british archeologist.
@@davidrealton9295 sorry, maybe I didn't word that better, but in cartoons, when its a hippo character, their usually fat, like big belly. Gloria from Madagascar, the hippo ballerinas from Fantasia, the hippo siblings from Animanaics, their all big-bellied. Taweret is not designed like that, instead she's built like a tree with a slimmer, trunk-like body and limbs to match.
Don't forget the guy who dresses up as the devil and showing his knowledge of martial arts to any evil doer, and the one who was just a regular loving husband who gets thrown into a suicidal military mission, but he survived and then punishes even those who do just minor offenses, and he doesn't have anything like extraordinary, but his mind, fists and bullets. Ps: Yeah, I guess that I'm little bit lyrical.
Ok but real talk, this is probably some of the most accurate and well done representation of ancient egyptian Myth I've seen in show/movie media in...ever.
I actually like how the gods seem to have some clue as to how humans are living in modern times. The fact she knows what a psyche ward is can't be understated.
The VFX artists are very thorough. If you look closely at the mirror balls in the corner of the ceiling, you can actually see the reflection of Taweret doing her thing.
I've thought about how Taweret would act in a show/cartoon/etc many times before and I have to say, Moon Knights depiction is just about exactly what I invisioned.
Taweret's correct. There is more than *ONE* afterlife in a universe of superheroes, supervillains, and every genre in media lore. Also, 1:35 won't she need those cards that flung out later?
@@zoser595 Actually Valhalla is part of Asgard. It’s where those who die in battle go. Helheim is the actual afterlife for Norse Mythology (aka Thor stuff).
Ngl i've been slowly warming up to Tawaret since the Kane Chronicles way back then and now seeing Tawaret here with the same exact personality actually warms my heart.
Yeah it would be a fucking ERROR to abuse a woman or kid in front of her. Think about it. Hippos are much more deadly to humans than lions, hyenas, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, even crocodiles or rhinos. She's a hippo for a reason.
Huge props to the animators who made her. I love her little mannerisms, especially the way you can see her counting 1 2 3 before launching into her speech
Strange that she's ushering these 2 to the afterlife, supposed to be the job of Osiris or either anubis, she's the goddess of childbirth protection, unless the council imprisoned both anubis and Osiris
@@JocasToy yeah I thought I seen his statue for a min when they was sealing khonshu away, I just rewatched that episode, it makes sense as to why she didn't fully remember. Lol
I’m really love Taweret!!! She’s literally the most sweetest goddess compared the other gods, makes sense she’s goddess of women and children, and guide to the afterlife of course! ❤❤❤
Something about the visual at 1:26 after Taweret mentioned the different intersecting planes of existence seems underratedly appropriate. With both Steven and Marc standing at opposite ends of an intersecting hall.
The GREATEST missopportunity was that the hippo told them that pretty much all the afterlifes in human culture are real and, since Thor, a lot of people have been requested access to Valhalla
Fucking hell, all Disney had to do with the Lion King remake was give the Lions/animals the same emotions that they gave Taweret on her face. They literally make the lions look dead inside. Real lions have more facial expressions than those CGI lions had.
Best series ever. Well definitely after Loki. No. 2 I will say but in a very good manner. This is the kind of series I will watch anytime without getting bored. Oscar Issac and Moon Knight are the best combination ever. Love Tawaret, one of the best part of the series. Marvel must show us more about Tawaret in season 2.
My take, she would eat it by slicing into it but will make note if shes in a rush she eats it whole. Mentioned shes aware of how many hippos in real life can she just perfered to enjoy it
