Snow is actually a part of her birthday events & gift to her fans (her birthday is on 22 Dec), the 1st part is an exhibition of photos she took, then she put ads to thank her fans and wrote this song which eventually released officially in her DSOTM. Fun fact, a music show PD (music bank PD if i’m not mistaken) asked her to perform “Snow” on music show because he loves it. That was her first solo stage. It’s also the beginning of her yearly birthday tradition where she releases a special song on 22nd Dec every year since then. She show her gratefulnes towards the fans in various ways from song covers on her birthday and even hiding presents along the Namsan tower for her fans to find ( this was in 2018). She released the video of her hiding those presents with her covering Paul Kim’s “Hey” as a gift on her birthday. Dark Side of the Moon brought me deeper into her artistry, like diving into the lyrics, the concept, understanding further the kind of musician she is. And 6equence is just 🤌🏻, it’s my favourite , the best imo she put out so far.
She released snow for her birthday and it was directed by pws. And this song was the start of her original songs for her bdays. She released an album in 2022 containing her bday songs from 2020, 2021 and 2022 on her bday and she again released a bday song in last year 2023 too😢. Until 2019 (when she released snow) she released cover songs for her bdays in 2016, 2017, 2018😊
thanks for reacting, wanna say something, I love our queens and especially Byul, they are always against all kinds of criticize from haters, haters who hate them just coz they love to hate. They have a lot of songs expressing their attitudes towards these criticize, just like "MOon movie". Byul singing has improved a lot , she gain her confidence through the years and took singing classes these several years, you can see her passion being a singer, you would find out when you follow her album. Our queens never stop improving and take up all kinds of challenge. enjoy !
Something else to watch for Moonbyul would be her appearances on the show Second World. It's a singing competition for rappers. It's quite a fun show and even made me a fan of the other rappers too. She also has a couple of lesser-known collabs that are really underrated, mostly with male singers. Two are with her RBW brothers Giuk who's the main rapper of Onewe and David Yong who is this 30 -something-year-old Singaporean CEO who also joined RBW as an influencer/artist. She also has one with Bumkey who you've seen in several of Mamamoo's earlier songs. At one point Moonbyul liked singing his song "The Lady" so much that he re-recorded it with her vocals in. All of them are great songs but vastly unappreciated for the most part.
I always say I'm OT4 but my eyes are always captivated by Moonbyul the most and I know deep inside that I am slightly more biased to Moonbyul. Is it her singing voice? Her dancing? Her rapping? Her charisma? Her beauty that transforms from ikemen prince to hot princess in a flash? I have no clue. All I know is, the longer you look, the more you are drawn into the dark side of the moon.
Seoho of Oneus and Yonghoon of Onewe are the backing vocals for Eclipse. Knew you'd enjoy this one! Notice how different each member's solo works are? In concept, in genre, and in message/meaning. It's great to see how they are individually vs how they are in the group. They're bringing something different to the table when they work together, and that's why it's important to let them explore their solo work before going back to work on new songs as a group. Imagine all the new insights and experience they bring and blend together in the future! Head's up, much like Wheein last year, Moonbyul will be releasing her 1st full album this year (maybe next month). Hwasa's full album is in the works as well. We haven't heard from Solar about that yet, but I know it's coming as well.
Yeah I'm really floored by how each member has such a distinctly different color to their solo stuff than what they normally bring to the group activities! I think it's really nice to see that they have creative outlets for things that they maybe feel like they couldn't express as Mamamoo. I'm already super hyped that we've got all this content left to go through from the girls and here we are with a brand spanking new Moon byul album coming out sometime in Februrary?! Love it

Like each one of them is a unique puzzle piece and together they form a gorgeous picture?? They deserve so much love and hype! Moonbyul, my favorite solo artist. (Though I do have a soft spot for Soojin... ) I love her dance style. I wonder if I'm the only one who thinks a lot of her dance moves look like a martial arts kata. The graceful flowing motions and such.
My interpretation of ilijido is somewhat like yours, being anxious about the work that is piled up, the procrastination and sometimes even thinking why are we the way we are. I think one nice thing that the song might be trying to bring across is that, hey we always have worries but we should also enjoy the present time. If we think this is not where we want to be now, but may be when we were younger our present selves is what we wished for. Only that as we get older, our expectations change and sometimes we put too much pressure on ourselves. My two-cents on the song :P Awesome reaction as always!! I love how u always analyze all the lyrics, most ppl just think oh its cool or smth. But yeah i also think that her lyrics could mean many things at times. Not just break up song, love song, or swag
Eclipse is such a powerful song and they really put a lot of work in to making every piece of the performance/ mv super meaningful and thought provoking 😊 I really love this album
If you noticed during the mv of Eclipse all her dancers are male while during the performance she had female dancers during the first half and then male dancers during the second half.
Just a little late getting to watch these becausr of work, but a few comments coming up "Mirror" and "moon movie" had performances well before they were released on this album. They were her solo stage at one of mamamoo's earliest concerts, and i believe performed elsewhere, too
There's another song that belongs to the DSOTM era "weird day" one of my favorites. Please react to it too 😅 it's not in the digital version in the album, it was released before the album release but it's in the physical album
As for "eclipse", it is about duality, but also more... each outfit apparently stood for a different aspect of her personality, though she either never explained the soldier one ir it never got shared if she did The two big ones, of course, are monster the devourer (black outfit) and moonstar the defender (white outfit). Byul herself prefers moonstar and was surprised when much of the fandom went feral at monster The brown outfit you mentioned is like neutral or 'regular' byul, the one you see everyday or the 'real' one, i suppose She only mentioned the one in a mixed black and white outfit, the one pulling or being pulled by ropes, once, to a fan who brought a poster of this version to get signed. Yeah while Iove all the members solos .. byul and wheein's solo projects are really my style Also onewe and oneus( a band and a boy group from rbw) main vocalists did the back ground higher and lower adlibs for eclipse Dancer change was for the female dancers instead of males
Sometimes I wish I could say that I leaned towards one member’s or another’s, but I just can’t choose! They’re all so amazing in different ways! But this album in particular really scratches my brain in a satisfying way if that makes any sense 😂
