Finally, a collection to get excited about! Mooncat is not slacking at all, they're experimenting and I love the brand (I'm also obsessed with cats so there's a tiny bit of bias, A+ rebrand IMO). The new packaging is really cool and elevated. I feel like they're branching out into more interesting polish as time goes on, and will definitely help fill that void that BKL has left behind. My faves are Curse of Calypso and Earth to Gaia, but it's really close with the rest. I feel like Demeter's Harvest will sadly go overlooked just because the color is so out there, and I kind of agree, not sure how much I'd wear it, but I just think it's so unique and gorgeous. I still might get it. Thank you for the amazing comparisons once again! You said that Head in the Clouds has much brighter shimmer, but the bottle comparison looks like Ghosts of Hecate is way brighter. Is this a camera thing or? I feel like I prefer Head in the Clouds formula-wise, but the shimmer looks brighter in Hecate, and I'm all about the brightest shimmer, so IDK which to get.
so glad you’re loving these!! absolutely agree about the rebrand too, it just reflects Michelle so much more and feels so authentic to her vs a more generic boutique polish brand haha. I really did love seeing these too, I know they’ve made some shimmery sheers before, but i’m still excited to see more! & yes totally agree on Demeter’s Harvest, maybe I’d love the look as an accent color vs a full mani bc I generally do like yellows! & oh, sorry I think I meant lighter not brighter with Head in the Clouds! like its just a slightly lighter shade of blue. It still si bright against the white base, but GoH is definitely stronger and in your face! sorry for the confusion :)
This is a beautiful collection. I'll admit Mooncat's aesthetic and themes are very much my vibe, but I still haven't been quite able to justify the price for just 12 ml of polish. But I do get tempted every time they release shifty shimmers because I'm so weak for that finish. Thus far I've just been taking part of their IG giveaways hoping that maybe one day I'll get lucky and get to try their polishes that way.
ahh I totally hear you! they definitely are pricey compared to other brands (more specifically indie), but I think I sort of justify it with the gorgeous packaging 🙈 fingers crossed you win one of their giveaways so you can try them out!!

ahh i got cirque moonstone bc i wanted a ghostly blue polish, but seeing the comparison, ghosts of hecate is so much ~more~ ghostly, i'd rather have it. but since i have the cirque already, lol, i'd definitely have both.
aww i hate when that happens! but totally understand. I do love cirque’s mystic moonstone but yeah ghosts of hecate is sooo sheer & ethereal so it delivers on the ghostly vibes way more! i think both are needed depending on your mood 😝
I already ordered Earth to Gaia and Artemis' Deathkiss and I think I might go back for Ghosts of Hecate and Aphrodisiac ahhh. This will be my first time trying Mooncat finally

aw thank you!!! I really appreciate that so much 🥹💗 ooh I have a few favorite topcoats! From indie I really like the ones from Cirque, mooncat and Olive Ave. For mainstream the OPI Voluminizing topcoat is great, though idk if its sold in stores, but other than that Seche Vive (blue bottle) is another go to!

Also, I've not a gray girl but I keep looking at the purple shimmer, but I have so many so it's ok and I've tried Ghosts of Hecate over a lighter color and that is like your first comparison. I've worn and beautiful skttle with Aphrodisiac, Midsummer night's dream, earth the gaia, melting clocks and the new moonicorn! so pretty!
Hahah yeah I really wish I loved Demeter’s Harvest more 😅🌽 honestly yeah when this first launched I didn’t much care for Artemis’ Deathkiss but it’s a stunning shade!! But yeah I can see it not being unique either especially compared to other indies haha. We’ve seen a lot of ghostly greys with blue or purple shimmers this year 😝 omg that skittle sounds SO pretty!!! 😍😍😍 I love that!!
The ones that I like enough that I would buy are similar enough to things I already have so Im safe from this release! But its good to know where I can find replacements if I ever need.

This will be my first Mooncat order and I'm so excited! The only reason I skipped on Ghosts of Hecate is because it was too similar to Mystic Moonstone for me *personally* , but I can definitely see why a more serious collector would want both - GoH seems to be more blue shimmer/glitter forward while MM is more ethereal white with blue shimmer accent.

I’m really on the fence with this collection. I love the concept & colors, but I feel that many look patchy. That said, Curse of Calypso is on my wish list, and maybe Earth to Gaia because I really love the color! Your swatches are so helpful! Thank you!
aw I didn’t think they looked patchy on me, but maybe it was just the lighting? though I did mention the uneveness in Artemis’ Deathkiss, but i guess looking back I can see some dark spots in some of the other shades too :o but I can’t recommend Curse of Calypso enough!! I wore it as a full mani somewhat recently and its just so ethereal, and i’m sure a full mani of Earth to Gaia would be just as magical! ✨
I love this collection so much!!! My favs are Artemis, Aphrodesia, and Gaia. I can’t make my mind up about the “corn” Harvest polish. I think I need to see more swatches. I want to love it! Because I love a cheery yellow. But this one almost looks too metallic for me? Idk. 😜

Curse of Calypso is stealing the show 😍(and reminds me of a more opaque version of my all-time favorite ILNP shade Downtown) but all of these polishes are divine! The glowy etherealness of these is 🥰🥰 So my vibe. I have been building a cart at Mooncat for some time now, but this collection is really pushing me over the edge to finally give this brand a try. If only my wallet wasn't screaming...lol I'd buy all these in a heartbeat. Oh my gosh this made me want to get Acid wash even more because it looks like Earth to Gaia's flakie sister! 😆 Thank you for including all my requests comparisons to Earth to Gaia! I really want to get it ! I don't know if I would get acid wash or if frogs had wings....I already have "splash" by Cirque Wich is also a blue jelly flakie. Ocean lies is so pretty wow! I normally don't like yellow shimmers but it actually looks great with that turquoise jelly....I think even better than mermaid bait.
haha yess Acid Washed is such a pretty blue!! I do think that one would be a little more similar to Cirque’s Splash, maybe just a little more like a sky blue! & Acid Washed is also more jelly, but If Frogs Had Wings is slightly more crelly. I have review videos with both of those polishes if you want to check them out, but you really can’t go wrong with either 😝🦋✨ and RIGHT!! ugh I wish I had grabbed a backup bottle of Ocean Lies. it’s like a peachy gold shift but yes it complements the turquoise base beautifully, and I love it more than Mermaid Bait too! 🙈
ooh I don’t have that one sadly! I can see that, but I think Fallen Angels has more of a blue to purple shifting shimmer, while Deathkiss only has the purple. but definitely pretty similar!
The chameleon shade’s my favorite! I’ve only had polishes when they were still Live Love Polish, & a little afraid of their cap shape in application cus iscreamnails’ cap was hard to work with for me. 😣
isn’t it mesmerizing?! and aww I hear you on that concern.. it definitely can be a little awkward to hold depending on your usual grip. I find I usually hold mooncat caps with just 2 fingers compared to 3 with other regular/round capped polishes. even though the top of the mooncat cap is very irregular, the actual base part is an equilateral hexagon shape, so I think most people would hold 2 opposite sides. idk if that really helps at all, but just for reference maybe! 😅
sorry i don’t have Cirque’s Deja Vu! they’re definitely very similar but I would say the shimmer is more pink/purple in Cirque and more blue/purple in mooncat :)
thanks so much! i unfortunately don’t have that cirque shade but from photos i do think they’re very similar, maybe mooncats base is a bit darker/brighter and the shimmer is a little more pink while cirque’s is slightly more of a purple shimmer with a slightly lighter base color too. i hipe that helps! :)

'Demeter's Harvest ' is so unique and beautiful, but I just don't know if I'd ever wear it. Your favorite 'Curse of Calypso' wasn't really on my radar, but I might have to give it another look :D Btw do you own 'Mermaid Bait'? If so, any thoughts?
totally agree with your thoughts!! But omg yes definitely check out Curse of Calypso, it really is a magical shifting polish! 🤩 & yes I do have Mermaid Bait! I only briefly showed it in my comparison section, but I do think its a reallyyy pretty shimmer, totally nailed the mermaid inspiration so I think I’ll love wearing it more in the summer time! :) edited to add that formula wise it’s probably most similar to Curse of Calypso or Ghosts of Hecate, where it’s a very sheer kind of base but the shimmer is very strong that it helps “cover up” your nail line.
@@PolishedYogi thank you! I recently wore KBShimmers 'Snow Unique' and it looks quite similar to 'Mermaid Bait' and now the new one from Clionadh Cosmetics at PPU. I don't need them all, but I'm a sucker for these blue turquoise pink shifting polishes lol
aw I mean I normally would prefer 1-2 coaters in general, but I make the exception for 3 coaters when its these sheer, ethereal type of shades. They create a lot of depth (and obviously opacity) the more coats you do and can just be so magical! but these could also work layered over a similar creme colored base if you wanted to do less coats too :)
