I'd love to see you reorganize the various 2023 Mooncat collections into seasonal collections. I was thinking that Stumped, plus the olive linear would be a perfect fall collection. Pandemonium is a great holiday red etc. Might be a fun way to recap. 😀

I kinda already have them organized like that though lol 🙈 but not really, right now I have 2 drawers for mooncat, one is spring/summer and the other is fall/winter, organized by whole collections. Moth to a flame is my favorite shade theyve released in a long time. In off light it looks brownish and in sunlight its so embery, and i remember seeing it and going it gives me silent hill vibes for whatever reason.
yeah i really ended up loving that one! such a cool and unique color. OMG i can totally see silent hill vibes!! esp once the siren goes off lol, funny enough I had the thought that ILNP Flicker gave me Silent Hill vibes too and thats the much lighter version of this one! 🩶🔥
I love the theme but I agree the collection is "basic" for MC (which is funny/unexpected when compared to other brands, but just means they set their bar really high!). Full Scream Ahead is definitely the highlight and the only I will for sure pick up. I'm also considering Monster Under Your Head and Nightcrawler.
ok i’m glad i’m not the only one who felt they were ‘basic’ lol! and yeah exactly its almost insulting to call them that 🤣 yeah I think I was expecting them all to have that wow factor like Full Scream Ahead or Storm Warning, even tho the magnetic shimmer felt a little subtle in that i think the mix of everything made it feel very mooncat to me. Monster & Nightcrawler are super cool though! I think maybe i would just enjoy them more in the fall haha

I really enjoy your swatches and comparisons because you show how the polish will look like in real life, or "common conditions". Brand website photos show images very enhanced and a lot of times they show how a color will look like in a very specific time, light and even moment. That's why I very much appreciate footage or shots of "random home life moment in random light" if that makes sense :) Then we see that most of the dark colors look the same, dark, and light shades are, well, light. The variation is so subtle that I personally appreciate it as it saves me some money for the future UMPH purchases :) So after I watched all the videos (so far, and yours was the best, no exaggeration here) and photos, the only shade that really stands out is Full Scream Ahead. If I didn't have any dark polishes, this collection would be definitely something to choose from, as their quality is great.

My set will be here tomorrow! What I love about Mooncat polishes is that the ones I don't think I am going to love, end up being favorites. They have a way of growing on you over time. I did not buy Dark Horse when it came out and was not interested. Well it ended up being a favorite after seeing members of the claw club wearing it so you never know!

This is maybe the first collection in a long time from MC that I was not all in on. I love Full Scream Ahead and Drown My Demons though. Those 2 are definitely going on my wishlist. I’m kinda iffy on Misery and Monster. I think if they showed up in rewards I would snag them, but they don’t wow me so much that I have to grab them.
i totally get you!! definitely worth grabbing as a rewards polish lol. i think after wearing them indoors during such gloomy weather i’m not super blown away by the dark shimmers 😅🙈
I’m a new subscriber and I really enjoy this video! I’ve just gotten into nail polish but I want to be choosy in what I buy to limit repeats so I really appreciate seeing you compare these polishes to other Mooncat colors as well as other brands. I ended up just getting the magnetic shades from this collection as the dark shimmers seemed too similar to what I already have and I’m not a huge fan of green. Looks like I made the right choice based on what you showed, so thank you!

i agree, this collection does seem a little..subdued or lacklustre. ILNP's Enchantment knocked Drown My Demons out of the park, for example. There IS a time and place for understated emo grungey alt-aesthetic dark shades in my house..but for Mooncat's price point, i want showstopping glittery shimmers and flakeys and fancy finishes 😂 i feel like i can get dupes or similar shades for cheaper elsewhere :x

I felt awful yesterday, too. Today is better. I think this was the perfect time for Mooncat to release this collection after the bright summer and holiday colors, this feels like a great winter break. But, it would work around Halloween, too!

I agree the collection overall seems more subtle and basic than other releases. The only polish I want is Full scream ahead, but I'm not a moody dark polish kind of person haha lots of people seem to consider this their favorite MC collection of the year!!
yeah like i totally get that these fit the dark snd grungy aesthetic so well, it makes sense a lot of people love them! I think maybe I would enjoy them more in the fall personally lol i do like some moody and dark shades for winter and Misery Is is probably the closest to what I crave rn haha. but i do love that this is veryyy mooncat 🤘🏼🖤
I'm with you! I mh prefer their pretty polishes. I've got so many of the darker ones, have the selene, apollo, blood moon, access denied... but I've finally stopped listening to the hype as I so rarely reach for them.

Not that I don't appreciate the beauty of their regular collection but the subtlety of this one is more appropriate for me and my 9 to 5 office like environment. I loved all your comparisons! I love seeing you use toppers and creams to try and get the same effect. I do that with my polishes all the time! I don't have so many shimmer toppers though.

I truly love this whole collection. It feels so different for this time of year and I'm totally here for it. The dark, murky and mysterious vibe is really lush. I like the very low light shimmer in the dark shades. It keeps it moody which for me is the point of the collection. As always, I love your vids and comparisons! Thank you!!! ❤️ ❤

I did just wanted to make a quick mention about the shade names that you add to the bottom part of the screen; when watching the videos with CC, the captions overlap and cover up the shade names. I do end up having to either move or turn off captions to see what you've written. Not a huge deal but just wanted to make you aware! 🩵

Hi Stefaniem new to your channel and as a predomently HT and Mooncat gal, I REALLY appreciate the comparisons. Am going back and checking out previous swatch videos as I've got a sizable collection and need to be a lot more selective with purchases. I have Access Denied and the 13th hour, but was diasppointed with the pics from the website to real life, and seeing the swatches confrimes that most of this collection is not for me. The jury is still out on this is a storm warning and full scream ahead, but as these are LT, I will wait. I've just picked up House of Hades and River stix and some others in the lunar sale and as well as the remaining 3 HT shimmers plus some others in the Black Friday sale so I've plenty to play with. But it was great to see Freezer Burn and Scorched Earth used here. Thank you!

Yeah same!! I shared my winter favorites recently and they were just not this dark and moody, which explains why I’m not lovinggg them haha. But still very pretty shades!
Aren’t they cool?! Yeah Moth to a Flame was soo intriguing to me, I love a fiery shimmer in a grey base! It’s like the darker cooler version of ILNP’s Flicker 🕯️

Yeah I just didn’t have anything to compare it to! It’s very unique to my collection 😅 but thinking about it now I feel like it could maybe be recreated by layering Holo Taco’s Freezer Burn over a dark grey, and then using Cirque’s Chemistry as the silver magnetic shimmer! 🤔 But thank you soo much!! I’m glad you enjoy seeing the magnetics with a velvet effect too 🤩🤩

Amazing video! So glad you were able to review this collection. I have to say I’m a bit divided on this - I love the idea and theme of this set (high school emo kid checking in), but I feel some of the shimmer shades are quite dupable (your comparisons and recreations were really great!!) and they are missing the omph factor that I usually would expect from Mooncat. Especially with your low lighting look of the polishes - I was very whelmed so to speak. Lol. I probably would end up getting some of them at some point to try them…but I’m not sure if they would be shades I would reach for that often. :/

Thanks for reviewing and comparing this collection. I assume it's a lot of work and I too struggle this time of year, so it's especially appreciated. I think the light was fine since it's realistic. I don't think a collection's theme, name and shade names has called to me more that this one, but then, I wasn't blown away by the shade reveals, although I do really like a couple of them. Hopefully, I can pick them up at a later date since I seriously, for real, cannot buy another polish right now! I need more storage atm, and also, people are expecting gifts which I need to use my money for! This was really good and helpful and is a good reference for later! Thanks again! 🥰

hey! i would say they’re like cousins, definitely similar vibes but not dupes - mooncat’s shimmer is stronger and slightly more shifty, but NOL has flakes in it and has a slightly lighter base!
I wouldn’t say so, I know Mermaid has a shimmer that shifts to green but it’s more in extreme angles. I can do a side by side on my IG stories if you wanna see :)
Honestly same!! I only had the epiphany after recording that I had shared so many bright shimmery/glittery shades for my winter favs lol so it makes sense I wasn’t loving these 🙈 I’m sure I’ll be gravitating towards them next fall though LOL but for now gimme all the holiday sparkleee 🤩🎄🎁✨
