I think leaving off subtitles for the signing is a deliberate decision; notice there are no Thai subtitles for it either. Compare this to 1000 Stars, which included embedded Thai subtitles when characters spoke in the northern dialect. I haven't seen any official statements about it, so I could be wrong. I've seen some speculate that it may be this way to put viewers in LiMing's perspective of learning to understand signing, which is a reasonable theory. But I also think it could be the opposite, to give viewers a small sense of Heart's perspective, struggling to piece together what is being communicated by piecing together context clues, facial expressions, body language, and lip-reading. Additionally, this may even encourage viewers to learn some basic sign language.

I love this show. Perfect depiction of feelings, emotions and logic at the different stages of love and age. We can see that no one is perfect, everyone makes mistakes especially when your heart(emotions) and head(logic) is mixed together. I have been in similar relationship like Alan and Wen, when you hope that there is hope, but really it isn't because the rift already happen and is just getting more and more wider. It is really true that it is difficult just break out of long relationship smoothly.
While I agree that Wen handles talking to Alan badly I think after having someone ignore boundaries & instigate petty disputes just builds tension till someone snaps; they created a situation in which the the only end was building hatred and perpetual suffering [unless one of them left & well obviously they weren't willing].
Yes, Li Ming is getting older but in the eyes of the law (and people seem to be forgetting that Heart's father is a high ranking police official) Li Ming is still a child thus making Jim legally responsible for him and his actions (which is why he needs Jim's signature to do the whole work study thing). Let's assess the situation from Jim's perspective for a second. Li Ming was on a borrowed motor bike that he then let someone who doesn't know how to operate the bike ride and that person got into an accident. Luckily no one was seriously hurt and there was no property damage. Also luckily for Li Ming it was Leng's bike who won't turn around and sue his ass for damages. Also remember that Li Ming is there paying off a debt to these people. Jim gets a call in the middle of the night about an accident, he's worried, upset and confused as to what the hell is going on. Yes he over reacted. But the man has a lot on his plate at the moment and is stressed the fuck out. Li Ming was in his mind doing a nice thing for someone he likes. I get that but actions have consequences. He snuck Heart out of his house, went joy riding on a borrowed bike and an accident happened. Heart's parents and Jim had no idea where these boys were or what they were up to. A parents/guardian's worst fear is to get a call in the middle of the night with someone telling them something has happened to their child (especially in the case of Heart's parents, who think their son is upstairs in his room) no matter HOW OLD the child is. Should Jim listen to Li Ming? Yes he should.. But Li Ming also has to take a minute (since he keeps harping on and on about being an adult now) to see things from Jim POV every now and then. Especially, knowing as he does the pressure his uncle is under right now with the business. And while he doesn't know everything that's going on with the business, he knows enough to understand that Jim doesn't need this shit right now.
Bingo. Someone said that. Everybody comments as if its a small matter. I don't know how they do it without even applying a little logic like you have narrated. And it's not about Jim's perspective, it is the reality.
Also, Li Ming's arguments with Jim as well as Heart's parents, initially, are totally out-of-place in this matter. It feels like he has gotten into the habit of talking back as he does with his uncle. Jim's advice to Li Ming is met by the wrong arguments by the latter. Jim never said don't be friends or help your friend. He simply said to set boundaries of what he will do and what not so that nobody gets hurt or troubled. Li Ming keeps saying to Jim, "Don't do anything for me." Oh, come on, man! Why not leave Jim and run away and do everything on your own? You are grown enough, as you say, and Jim is not your father. So, that should be easy for you to do. Isn't it? Being grown up and adult also means thinking about the consequences of your actions from all aspects. But, as I said Li Ming is typical teenager.
I want to say it here while I understand it, Li Ming is a typical teenager who doesn't know that all actions have consequences. Watching him behave the way he does with Jim makes my heart ache for my parents because I realize how bad, though even now at 50 I dare not talk back to my parents like Li Ming does, used to behave with my parents when all they wanted was my well-being. I get it Li Ming is lost, feels suffocated, doesn't know what to do but he just doesn't talk properly with Jim. The way he says "its annoying" 'I don't like your food (something like that)' and such things, it feels utmost disrespectful towards Jim. Every parent will issue warnings to their children. Li Ming for once doesn't think that this man is his Uncle not bilogical father who, no matter how, is taking care of him. At least don't talk back to him in a disrespectful way. I also understand he might be finding it difficult to talk to his Uncle about Work and Travel but its only he who can talk about it to Jim properly making him understand that his grades are low, he cannot put more efforts in studies, so why not focus on something job oriented. Jim, like any other parents, is trying to do whatever he can for Li Ming. Going abroad costs money. My question to Li Ming is I) How is Jim going to arrange that? Ii) If Li Ming wants to save that kind of money and then go, does he plan to go in his 30s?,
With Alan and Wen, what is wrong, I think is which later becomes clear, that 1) Alan is overbearing. 2) Wen, in the beginning, went along thinking he loves Alan. But slowly and gradually, with time, he realized what was happening is that he was losing himself. As later in the episode, Wen says he ate beef to impress Alan, and he can eat it because Alan likes it. There lies the answer. Its nobody's fault. And its 50/50.

I actually think there are lotbof cuteness and closeness in MC too... the only difference is a kiss "angle" , which might satisfied bl fan but do not change anything about the love/cuteness and sweetness of the characters relationship.
agree (to a point) with u, when u were criticizing Wen - cause he was totally gaslighting Alan in that argument. when he was in the wrong (but i don't really like Wen from the start - have a thing with cheater's) n as long as he was deluding Alan by living with him, he had no right to treat him like he's the one in the wrong. u cant say "i am still living with u, heck sleeping with u cause i feel sorry", cause that's b.s. no matter how sorry u feel towards someone, if they ur ex u may sleep with them cause ur horny n they a convenient body to use. but sleeping with them cause ur sorry? is a reach IMHO what i totally disagree with, is ur condemning Alan. his only fault is that he is STILL in love with Wen, that's why he can't let go, why he is ready to forgive anything n quick to ask for forgiveness (even when he aint in the wrong!). and as he loves Wen, he can't vent/direct his anger on him - so who will be his target? Jim of course, logical n very human. if anything the better question to ask is, why the frack Jim go back to the same bank?!? (idk how come u can say "Jim didn't know he existed", when in the previous freakin ep he talked to him in the same bank after speaking to the teller, selective memory just cause u like JIM?!?) he avoiding Wen, cause he feels used n doesn't want to get involved in a messy situation. but he goes back to the same branch knowing he will encounter Alan - what logic is that? Alan is in the right here, just cause anyone who's hurting like him, is an emotional mess n him being uncourteous is nothing compared to what most people would do if they encountered the person, their loved one cheated with - just saying 🤷♀ n the fact Wen broke up with him before or after sleeping with Jim is besides the point - cause him still living with Alan gave him hope that he could fix things, that he still had a chance. so sorry but the bad-guy aint Alan!
