I remember listening to the Glenn Miller Orchestra play this song in a very large ballroom that used to exist in my hometown. Sure brought back some good memories!

@@tomhaag3144 I am so jealous (for me), but thrilled that you were able to hear the Glenn Miller Orchestra play their music live. I love this particular song so much. I saw a film about Glenn Miller's life. I think that it made me love his music more, just watching Jimmy Stewart portray Mr. Miller's efforts to get his "own" sound that was unique. He had no desire to sound like Benny Goodman and/or any other orchestras that were playing at the time. It was a lovely movie. Sangah Noona certainly brings her own unique interpretation of this song to the piano. That's what great artists do. They make the music a unique experience for the listeners.

I have been watching your live streams for about 2 years you inspire me to play I'm a self-taught somewhat piano player would be nice if you were in the area I could get a few lessons off of you but I enjoy watching

@@SangahNoona Of course anyone and everyone is entitled to have their favourite genres. However this comment worries me a little. If 95%of my requests are jazz standards than does that mean that you are playing material you don't enjoy much. I don't want to request songs the pianist does not really want to play even though it is kind if you do so. The other contradiction in my mind is that the playlist features more jazz standards than any other genre and by quite a margin. This know for sure. My only explanation I can come up with is that there has to be a big divide between what some people think of and include as jazz than others. Gilberto and Boss nova for example to me is a form of jazz. For me some of the standards are really just pop songs of their era unless played as jazz. If interpretations are are melodic structures and tones altered than I think that is a jazz performance - others obviously don't. Some people think of lounge music as jazz and some think of it as easy listening. Anyway I am now a little concerned about making song requests if others would rather hear pop, rock, classical etc... In truth jazz is an enormous title which encompasses hundreds of styles. Still if people are not keen on the what we call standards than I feel a responsibility to refrain from requesting them. Remember what they say give the audience what they want. On a personal note I feel I am the least sweet member of the group. I think it is fantastic the positivity of everyone and their kindness but I personally don't think I can always be that kind. I don't believe in being nasty but I also believe in complete and utter honesty. If I give a compliment it is genuine but when I read what others if the SF write I feel like I can't be as emotionally expressive as that. I am having doubts whether someone of my disposition really belongs in a group that is extraordinarily always kind. On the other hand I love Sangah's playing, actually make that adore, but I can't say that every single song played is one I love whereas everyone else seems to gain immense pleasure from every single piece even if normally it wouldn't be their cup of tea. If I don't care much for a song on an odd and rare occasion it never has anything to do with Sangah's playing - which is ALWAYS amazing. I just simply may not be a fan of a song. Maybe this is a cultural thing as Australians are probably more like the British - we are more restrained with what we actually say and tend to be polite more than congratulatory.

After worrying for some time I felt I should add an appendage to my comment above. Nothing wrong with a friendly debate music styles and what constitutes jazz - after all Art is there partly for that purpose. However having just watched a replay of today's youtube session it seems that I was wrong to assume most people don't want to hear this type of music and I apologise for generalising so quickly. In regards to compliments the point I was trying to make, but probably failed miserably to do so, is how constantly I am amazed by the continual positivity and emotional response from fans. Again though having watched Sangah for some months now she too often says, with tongue in cheek, 'stop that, stop that' with a smile shining through showing her gratitude. I was alluding to that sort of point where for some people they are easily embarrassed by the kind words of others. Which doesn't mean we don't appreciate them. Australians for bad or worse tend to get embarrassed very easily by very emotional praise. I find my comments although always kind and honest maybe come across as a bit lacking in the level of 'sweetness' that others do naturally. I hope if anyone had concerns with my initial post, that I have put things more carefully. Apologise to Stefano as I should have put this under a separate chat line.

First, I think you should not worry about your requests and what we or Sangah like or don't like. To my understanding Sangah does not like a kind of modern jazz with "wild experimental improvisations" but is fine with melodic jazz standards as of Berlin's, Kern's or Cole Porter's type. In particular, I am convinced she likes Gershwin. But she seems to enjoy very much Rock and Hard Rock and having fun this way. And second, I am quite sure she is not that enthusiastic about all my requests but she always plays them with great care so it has been a great pleasure for me every time. What do you call that? She is a real professionell entertainer! And third: I always like your requests and still do not consider myself as a great jazz fan either. Finally, I hope you don't consider my comments as being sweet. I am not a sweet guy at all but I just say what comes to my mind and Sangah's playing and singing makes me enthusiastic. @@richardfehlmann4593 Dear Richard thank you for your kind and wise words. Even tough only a month ago I have come to realise all the points you have raised. I agree with you - Sangah is a complete professional. I think your comments are very thoughtful, so if I use the word sweet I only mean that word in its completely positive definition. I think I may have subconsciously picked it up from Sangah who uses the word a lot. The SF is full of genuinely sweet people - in fact it is amazing how lovely everyone is. If a person could draw parallels between an artist and their fane base it is no wonder that Sangah's audience is so appreciative and positive. I was feeling some awkward uneasiness at the time I wrote that email as I tend to get paranoid that I have upset a person/people very easily. It is something I need to work on and overcome. Only just a quick final point I found Sangha's last youtube stream to be very moving. Her sharing of her feelings and reflections near the end I found to me very poignant. I was so impressed and taken with her openness and appreciation for her listeners. I know she often shares such wonderful sentiments but for some reason on this occasion it resonated so strongly with me. But I remember this as the last dance of the night at our high school dance, the gentle feel of a head on my shoulders and the tender kiss when the song ended. :-) I grew up poor, but there was always music in the house, and I remember my parents dancing in the living room to the TV. For father's day I'd like to request Tennessee Waltz. Patti Page was my father's favorite female singer, And I remember my parents dancing to this song.
