You did a lovely job of combining breathtaking fotos of these beautiful animals with this piece. When we realize how wolves are maligned and slaughtered because they're seen in such negative light, the melancholy of the piece really hits home. And last but certainly not least, Helene Grimaud does an amazing rendition of this classic. Thank you for posting.
I chose this tune to be played at my Mothers funeral service.....and in that chamber full of roses and this song with raindrops ticking away at the ceiling's gflass windows....it made me feel a mother/daughter bondness. A heavy tune...I think...that really touches one Heart.......when in grief......R.I.P. Mamma xxx
THE best song ever written in my opinion. So beautiful and completely heartfelt..I can only dream to write something this incredible and timeless someday...
I started when I was 48 or 49! I'm now three years into it, can read music and play lots of simple classical pieces. (fur elise, the swan, etc). I've just mastered the Moonlight and it is a joy to listen to and to play! I purchased a used digital piano on eBay. pretty good. Also some churches/schools have pianos and might not mind your practicing there. Go for it HollieBaDollie!
I've been sad for weeks, and trying to cry. I couldn't. It's been years. I couldn't remember how. How to be overwhelmed. But this...I must have woken my neighbours with my weeping. Catharsis of the heart.
Everyone on here is trying to find the words to describe this one piece of music...and that's what's so incredible about it. There are no words.....because none were needed.
Quand j'entends ce morceau je suis à la fois saisi de mélancolie, de regrets diffus et en même temps rempli d'espérance. Beaucoup d'émotion et de sensibilité dans l'execution de Ms. Grimaud.
Damn! You can hear that this masterpiece was made with emotion. And the better is that this amazing sonata can arouse the most pure emotion of you. I'll be always extremely thankfull to Beethoven, 'cause he made my mantra.
Why is this music better than today's pop music? Ask yourself... are many people still listening to Lady Gaga's hit from a year ago? No, right? Well, this was composed/made about 200 years ago and people still enjoy it on daily basis. :)
To play on the piano the song is actually quite simply but it is so comlicatedly simple that makes this song so beautiful you know a four year old could play it except it seems like a masterpiece
Così mi piace che sia suonato questo pezzo...superba Elene! Le immagini dei lupi poi...dolcissime (la sua grande causa) Peccato però che manchi il finale.
Moonlight Sonata is one of my favoriate music by Beethoven. It fits in with the Wolves. They are very beautiful and mysterious. I watch documentarys on them, whenever they're on the TV. They're territorial. I enjoyed watching this interesting video.
wow i got the chills song s just so amazing there is no words to fit this amzing piece of art soo deep anyone who thinks the same reply or thumbs up or both!! thnx
I adore wolves and this piece was put together nicely with one of my favorite sonata's. I do find it a shame that most of the other comments I see are more about the artist who is playing and how they (the commenters) seem far superior to us little people who simply wish to enjoy the beautiful music. . Can't we enjoy something without the need to show off or show our poor taste by bragging about who we are instead of more points of interest about the music.
this song gives me the creeps .. especially after i watched detective conans episode where people died whenever this song was played .. still its very beautiful ..
Pop Art is ambition to save the world with art... to convince people to love the right ideals...a hope that they can convince humanity to love the right ideals. The consider the ways the can express those ideals, sometimes even question the meaning, the essence of expression. They innovate and experiment. A Pop Artist does not question the ideal, does not try to know ITS essence. That is why the Pop Artist can create innovative methods of expression, but not new ideas.
listen, the piece is marked "Adagio sostenuto"...which is the way she plays it. as for histrionics at the piano, I would say that no one is more known for those than Glenn Gould....he looked like a lunatic when he played, but the music that came out of him was genius.
If there is a such thing as true music, it would have truth in it, it would have substance. It would fill voids in hearts, not remind people of what they don't have. All that I say is a meaningless abstraction if I claim I have a message. The only message I see is this song; I have no words for the substance of this song; I have no "interpretation" or political message. I only see this song has meaning that anyone can find... but the meaning has always been the song itself... only the song. ;)
I believe so, and I too am 15 and mosy of us have lost, complete sence of real music. But theres many more out there, few but the important thing is that theres still some people that know what music is. Theres a diffrence between Music and Sounds. I'm glad someone else sees what music is.
@Mercuryblue5 I completely agree. I've been playing the flute for 6 years now and I don't like it when I hear that even fellow musicians can't sit still to listen to a beautiful song such as this. Thankfully there are some who can, like a person in my band class who's a brass player but will occasionally play this before rehearsal.
.......i would die to prove this is one of the best peices of music ever made unlike justin bieber im 14 and im the only one in my school who achually listens to beethoven
I find this song full of peace and mystery. It is like falling into a dark hole that you are comfortable with surrounded by your loved ones. It is like a peaceful death
