That’s the only way to make those green beans. The Southern Bacon grease way. I got to get back to good old North Carolina, my home state, and get me some good eatings. Love being raised Southern. ☺️❤️🐴
Exactly how I do mine, only I prefer fresh runners from the garden if possible. But you are spot on with the grease, it's what makes them taste sooooo good 👍😊😊😊
My mom used to keep a jar of bacon grease under the kitchen sink. She would use an old nylon stocking over the top of the jar to filter out all the larger bacon bits but I’ll tell you what! It made the best fried chicken I ever had! Try it sometime! You won’t be disappointed!
I was doing it all wrong! Really enjoyed this way can’t wait to try to make these green beans! My grandma made hers this way and she has been gone for so many years I couldn’t remember what to do. ❤️
👍🙂 My Gramma (up in WV) made em with that good ol smoked bacon n bacon grease. Smoke Ham Hocks were good too. She grew Roma Green Beans n canned em every year. Sometimes Gramma added corn in the beans. Mmmmm! And sometimes we had taters in em. Mmmmmm! Enjoy. Thanks for sharin. That Sauna Tim gave you could be turned into a good smokehouse, if ya get tired of sauna-ing. Beef???? Hmmmmm???? Never had the beef but she did use chicken broth/bouillion. Have ya TRYED em with a dabble of Shine? 😊😊😊
West Virginia is the best that’s where I live and eat the best holiday food you will ever taste. We know what we’re doing down here in the state and I’m Italian. My whole family is we come from Sicily got off the boat in 1935 at the Hudson river in New York and made our way to Reynoldsville, West Virginia.💯🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
My mother was born and raised in W.Va and half runners were her fav bean and white sweet potatoes my favorite too. Live in Texas now can't get either one here. My uncle used to ship my mother a mess of both for holidays. Great memories❤
So glad I found your channel. I just watched your pineapple casserole video now I gotta go make one. Your green beans looked delicious they remind me of my Mamaws! Thanks for sharing your recipe. Happy 4th 🇺🇸
Wifey so nervous after she made the comment about the bullion. Poor thing .. lol. Salt, bacon grease, butter, with green beans, stirred to perfection 😅
Goya beef bullion. Yes, I buy the chicken and beef powders. Dollar Tree has it sometimes. I'll have to make your green beans for Christmas. You gotta be Southern, you save your bacon grease, I love it, for fried potatoes, gravy and biscuits, wilted lettuce, homemade soap.
My brother-in-law worked on the set of moonshiners and said it was pretty much all fake and put on It was just water...🤷 I'm not trying to hate or nothing I like to show and stuff but
God bless y'all looks good but here in the south we call them beans, pole beans,or flat beans I like to put some new potatoes also called red potatoes they are great with some fried hoe cake corn bread I'm talking about old times cornmeal not some of that sweet stuff just saying 😎..
It’s funny you said at feller! Soon as I gandered my gall dern eyeball at dat can of scall doggin green beans feller.. I’m here to tell ya I stuck both boot heals in tha air, bared down and farted so hard it set off my smoke detector… feller..
Only vegetable i would never eat. MOMS been dead 10 years, never knew her to cook good, sorry mom, but when she made green bean casserole (??spelling) I loved it. Tickle and his wife have a good food apparently at their restaurant
I also prefer fresh homegrown green beans. I was raised on them. If there is no chance of growing your own the canned green beans he is using are the best canned green beans you can buy. They are ALLENS grown right here in North Carolina. They are very close to homegrown. They are actually a strain of pole beans.
If you buy the canned Italian green beans cook them in a crockpot with the salt pork and potatoes, they taste like out of the garden. My older sister taught me e this. She has passed now. RIP Pat.
