This will set the world aflame! Another monument by Portuguese Dark Metal pioneers! 11th Studio Album from the Portuguese Dark Metal Masters
Portuguese pioneers Moonspell first brought the dark flames to their native country - and then set the rest of the world aflame with milestones such as Irreligious or Night Eternal. Indeed eleventh studio album Extinct erects another monument to sundowns and those dark hours and lets Fernando Ribeiro`s sombre vocals collide with modern riffing, blackened melodies and operatic grandeur. Always one step ahead of the rest, always resisting all genre boundaries!

Strings played live by Turkish Orchestra "Mumin Sesler String Group" with 7 violin, 3 Violas and 1 Cello. You can hear the Turkish music elements the way it progress. That adds a good texture to the song itself.

Moonspell are one of my fave bands. They are from Portugal, although there have been some member changes over the years, including a past member of Amorphis joining them. Over the years their music has ranged from pure gothic, gothic industrial, gothic metal and even at times with death metal elements. The singer, Fernando, has such a rich tone to his clean vocals that he draws you in and then often belts out some fantastic screams and growls too. They’ve been around for at least the past 25 years and are still going strong. I saw them live a couple of years ago, in the sort of venue where the crowd is literally about 10 feet away from the stage, and they were absolutely amazing to watch. You guys also need to check out their songs :- Butterfly FX Lickanthrope Scorpion Flower Finisterra Luna Extinct I also recommend, if you haven’t checked them out already, the bands Type O Negative, Paradise Lost and Lacuna Coil. 🤘🏻🙂

In their very beginning their had strong black metal elements. Then they went to Gothmetal, Gothindustrial-metal something. And never left their trademarks, they good in that slow-fast game. Feel free to check their sideproject Darmonarch (the sevent daemonarch) it is awesome.

being a countryside girl in rural portugal listening to moonspell by the age of 12 people saw me as a devil worshiper lol, i feel like they are waaaay underrated here.

The artwork is amazing, done by Seth Anton who is the lead man in Septicflesh - an awesome Greek symphonic death metal band. He's done artwork for loads of my favourite albums :) very dark and evocative imagery. I'm pretty sure the strings are keys and not live.

Great video glad you enjoyed MOONSPELL. They are, in my humble opinion the MOST unique and MOST underated band EVER. Axis Mundi or Crystal Gazing would be a couple of songs I would suggest but anything from MOONSPELL I think you would enjoy and appreciate.
