You have probably seen the little opening splashing bull before but he's earned a spot in this video as well, then it's on to other young moose up to the big bull I've filmed for 4 years in a row in a remote pond in New Hampshire's White Mountains. Have you seen a bull moose splash like a kid? or a grown bull moose snorkel? Well, you 're about to. Enjoy!
Thanks for watching our channel, we are the husband/wife team of Rick and Libby Libbey, (Libby squared), New Hampshire wildlife photographers (and part time Alaska.) It is our passion to document wildlife of any kind, but moose are definitely at the top. In New Hampshire we spend a lot of our spring/summer hours in kayaks photographing loons and moose in the waters of New Hampshire. And hike many miles in Alaska seeking all manner of wildlife in the fall.

All young are gangly and unsightly (poor darlings) until they grow into themselves,. It’s wonderful to see the young moose and how some (fortunately) age so beautifully. Thank you

Thank you for the comment, and it's good to see a moose at all up here in New Hampshire of late. Winter ticks are taking them by the thousands. But at least this one bull, my buddy, has thrived through several winters and hunting seasons. Fingers crossed he's still doing well. (And yes, they are rather...scrawny looking as youngsters, but they've had a hard winter.) Hopefully they soon morph into lovely, majestic moose. Appreciate you being here!

I love the sound of geese in the morning. 😃. Actually, any time of day. Oh my! That sounds so good. I was wondering if the 5 year old swimming in the water was using his ears to navigate his swimming depth. He was flopping his ears on top of the water. I haven't seen that before in Alaska and it was really noticeable to me. And as usual, this is a great video for an old lady to day dream by. Take care all.

Aw, Susan, so glad to give you something to day dream about. I think he was flipping his ears like that for either the water getting in them or the flies. Here in New England when a moose is in the water it seems they are always besieged by flies/bugs. But he sure is a healthy bull. Getting harder to find here in the northeast. Sadly.

We spent 20 plus seasons, spring and fall, on the Kanc, Bear Notch Road and the circuit going through Lincoln and back to Conway. Later trips the Moose seemed to become scarce in that area of the WM. Some great experiences but didn’t get as good footage. Thanks for what you do.

Thanks for the comment and we feel your pain; the winter ticks have taken our moose by the thousands. Did a blog on it on our MooseMan Nature Photos website, Called Moose and Coffee, check that out if you wish. We head to Alaska now during the rut to rather predictably get our lenses on nice bulls because of the alarming lack of moose now in this area --as well as Maine. But this handsome bull that I had at a tiny pond in the Whites (taken from my kayak) sure has thrived despite it all. Thanks for watching!

Ha! Yeah, he's a LOUD chewer, but he chews thoroughly like his mom told him. Get every bit of nutrition from those pickerel weed plants. 😊 Mom would be so proud. Thanks for watching!
