I watch many channels to see just how or which way they perform these builds and it makes me wonder just how many engineers it took to complete a whole car. Kyle Carter up in canada is quite close, and maybe even better on what his method is. It comes down to what he works on most tho. He works mostly on the what was called the advanced design chevy pickups/trucks of 48 to 53. He goes layer by layer and is also doing his own design on a pickup of that age. One thing for sure is that they could be made of tin foil if enough different shapes are put in one

That 18 gauge is hard to work with how are you going to make the right door and center post? I guess I’ll just have to wait and see

I'm no expert but whenever I had to replace metal on the vehicles I had I always cut the the old metal out first then welded in fresh metal.

I totally dismantled more than one unibody car. Layers are not pretty to undo.

Was the original panels just covered with new sheet in a previous repair?

It looks ugly at the moment but I'm sure you'll bring it around

With all that you have cut out of it you might as well call it a scratch build ! I bet it weighs next to nothing.
