I'm not convinced that the size of the "bullet" is right. More subtle would be my choice, but it will be the center point of your grill design, so no denying its importance to you in the final look. Eye of the beholder.

No worries Drew, I'm not running with a bullet. The drawing was a random shoebox 3/4 view i found on the interweb and doodled over top of. What is important are the new lines formed on the car itself. Thanks for watching!

Wow, great result Nick. Thank you for taking us on this journey of metal manipulation. I've been wondering what your vision was for the front. I do like the idea of the nerf bar tapering towards the fenders. I don't have much constructive criticism for your design and am quite happy to be along for the ride. You're kind of turning into Popeye with the forearms. They say Popeye got his name from yanking a fender from an english wheel without eye protection!

Almost got hold of a chopped shoebox, I wanted to replace the bullet with a welded up stainless skull and crossbones, missed out on it, bummer. I like your work A LOT. Thanks for the tips and tricks.

A late 50's 5 X 7 hot rod/custom annual had a picture of a chopped black shoebox convertible on the waterfront. Frenched headlights, a grille opening with a smile. I thinh it was mid 50's Buick chrome molding on the top with a filled Vette grille bar.

Most guys would just put those in their power hammer and be done with it ... I like your way better ... I see theres an opening for raccoons on the bottom ... the roll pan on my pick-up likes to skin them when I hit em ... I'm likin the bottom feeder look ... floating bar would look good ... or a chunk of '58 Ford grill ... looks cool ... nice work ...

Nick, if ya ever wish to feel old, have a daughter turn double nickels on the fourth of april! So that said, I remember the 6 cylinder fords had a single round center with the embossed 6 in the center of it and the V8 cars had a circular cylinder (poorly worded, work with me) on either side with a 8 in the center of it.. I just don't remember the term/name of that piece you held in your hands at the closing/altro that helped to identify their cars. The six had a larger cylinder and the V8's were smaller to make it look correctly.

Thanks Sean!! The bottom edge of the hood will frame the top of the grill so can't really round the corners. Check out a late 60's Mustang hood/grill area - kinda like that.

I believe you're referring to the reciprocating hammer. Just fine tuning it a little more before we splash some paint on it. Great question!! Unfortunately, gotta tell you that you'll never find another like this. It was made by Nick and balanced for a right handed swinger. Actually, just took a 3lb sledge and added a trailer ball for some more 'umph' when working with 18Ga steel. lol! It plays with 20ga.

There was a 'little' scope creep as we moved forward. One has to listen to the car and what it wants design wise 😁 But overall, it wasn't too bad and worth the extra effort. My Dad and I are both pretty darn excited with how it's looking now!
