Mopar cold start fire up vid! Plus build updates I have done a few thing in the last couple weeks and getting ready for spring and drag racing my 1968 Dodge Dart drag car! Resent upgrades with MSD products and a slick oil pressure gauge line trick! This stroker small block mopar has a solid roller cam so I try to fire it up a more than a few time over winter. Enjoy

Engine bay looks great 👍. Good idea to fire it up at least once every 2 weeks. When you pull it out the garage would be great to drive it around the block to ensure the tires don't end up in the same spot when returning to the garage to prevent flat spots. It's always great to listen to the awesome idle. You can feel depression and just by firing up the engine you got instant cure...😆 muscle car therapy 💪.

Hi Joe, I just installed an edelbrock 30-454QFT mechanical fuel on my 71 El Camino. It runs cold at 6.5 to 7 PSI which is perfect. After running about 20 minutes or so it is down to about 1.5 psi. The fuel filter is not clogged at all. It has a single ⅜ fuel line with no return and has a vented gas cap which I removed for test purposes and didn't change anything. What do you think could be the problem or is this a normal occurrence? Thanks in advance and I absolutely Love your videos. Doug Gustafson

On your converter, lower your two step RPM to 3000. When launching it will allow the converter flash and your motor to get up in rpm. I have been running a 430 in small block my 68 Dart. I run consistent 1.39 to 1.41 60Ft. That is with a two step on a footbrake. I run Caltraks springs and bars. I also run mufflers and a DOT Hoosier tires. My ET's for the 11 years on the same motor is 10.30's to 10.40's in street legal trim.

Very cool sounding camshaft, But when this comes to Closing the intake valves it bleeds compression out. And i think that is where it needs it or another design . I seen cams LSA 108 and just a point more dynamic compression , that would make it shine. I drove a 108 hydraulic all over the place for years back in the 1980s, no problems

Since you changed the spacer looking for looks improvements as well as power think about changing out your chambered mufflers for straight through ones , engine masters did a video on this with a bunch of different mufflers and brands . Surprising amount of power loss with the chambered guys , love the dart btw I have a 68 and 69 convertible 🤙

When I race I alway run open exhaust thru dumps or even remove full exhaust and use header extensions (that’s the best) not sure I’ll get much out of the spacer I mostly did for cosmetic as it’s only 1/2 inch taller. But should help a bit

Ah ya I gotcha , I’m actually going to line my wires like you did for my coronet . I should have that going for the spring , it’s similar to the 493 max wedge engine you did a video on . Mines 512 11.2 comp with 700 lift solid roller , built by Ron parr ( the one armed bandit ) guys a genius . If you’re coming to mission this season maybe I’ll see you there , I live 15 minutes from the track

Not sure when it open. We’ll have to drive 30 mins to a ferry for a 2 hour boat ride then drive about 1:45. So it will be like 5-51/2 hour one way trip. Have to trailer the car too

I do have one question for you ??? About your converter do you think it's slipping too much or is it too tight and pulling down the motor !!!! If I remember correctly it takes 30-35 passes for it to break in and be consistent not sure where you are with it !!! It is such a key part in drag racing and it shows your well rounded experience in the understanding of the sport !!! Hope you get it to your satisfaction !!!! 10.90s ??? 10.80s ??? 122-123 ??? CAN'T wait !!!
