This is my all time favorite band. I don't know a word of the Turkish language, I come from a completely different country. They have so many songs that are true rock masterpieces. "Ayip Olmaz Mi" amongst many, many other. I first heard them when they performed at Eurovision in Serbia around 2008 or 2009. Wish more people internationally would hear this band.
Serbian's and Balkan people love the band "Altin Gun" - I think you will too, give it a try. 90% of their first two albums have #1 quality songs which is almost unheard of.
The origial song is from 2004. Bir derdim var means, I have a problem. The band Mor ve Otesi are together since 1995. They have many song criticising the status quo. Since Muse also come together in 1994, both bands were feed from the time they are living. That's maybe why the sound is sometimes similar.
@@PowerfulReactionsI would recommend you to have a look at the original album version as well. As you listen to it several times, you notice new sounds and echoes in the background. It is very rich. May or may not be for another video, that is your call.
More like “I have a Sorrow/Worry” where it’s closer to a feeling that would eat you from inside unless you spit it out rather than a “problem,” which doesn’t carry the same critical nuance.
Türk müziğinin en iyi oldugu zamanlardı.harika bir gruptu.bir arkadaşında dediği gibi türk müziği ileriye değil 10- 15 sene geri gitsin yeter demişti.yani şu an türk müziğinden eser kalmadı.
Mor ve Ötesi is the maybe most polite group as l know in Türkiye. They r always calm and talented. I appreciate u react their nice video. Thanks for that and still waiting to reaction for Can Kiriklari by Sebnem Ferah :)
Great work Johnny!!!!! Know them since 2008 as they represented Turkey in Eurovision Song Contents in Serbia. You made few Eurovision reactions already so highly recommend to check their entry "Deli".
The place where the concert is held is not a newly built castle. It is a church built in 532 in Istanbul, its name is Hagia Eirene Church. This building is 1489 years old.
Fan of both bands, I never thought they sound alike. MVÖ is one of the best bands of all time in Turkey imo, their songs are so meaningful and are great melodically.
We love them.I am 45 and I fell in love, fought with the world and tried to catch my aims and grew up with them.Got a 15 years old son,two years ago we were at the concert of them in Zeytini,Balıkesir. You should check it.
Please ask a turkish friend what the lyrics mean. I literally cried... bir derdim var means "i have a problem" as in a festering feeling, "that i cannot contain within me anymore.." if i leave, until where..? What good is it of i stay""i cannot ever explain, they could never understand" this song is a statement.. so the 300 or so people in the background sing "i have a festering feeling" as a chorus it is a statement.
I cry almost everytime I hear it. I have goosebumps everytime I hear it. This song is not just a song but a feeling. They give that feeling geniunly feeling troubled .
Tüylerinin diken diken olduğunu gösterip duruyor, isimlerin telafuzu çok düzgün,arada annesi seslenmesin diye odalara kaçıyor, efendim anneeeeee dememek için,len sabahları pişi yiyen Mustafa değilse bu eleman bende bir şey bilmiyorum :D
I think Mor ve ötesi is one of the best bands ever. Their lyrics are incredibly deep, political, rebellious, philosophical, revealing one's inner voice, ironic, yet naive, serene and intelligent... Great harmonies, incredibly deep song structures, amazing guitar riffs, each of them extremely complex and finely crafted arrangements... A world band, one of the best in the world... 👏🤟
This song is from band’s 2004 album “Dünya Yalan Söylüyor” The song is a staple in Turkish Rock Playlists right now and the band is probably the greatest Turkish rock band right now.
I agree! It’s so Muse! And I love Muse and „know“ and like Mor ve ötesi since they took part 2008 in the Eurovision Song Contest! So happy I discovered them there!
Best rock band of Turkey for sure. Imo not only of Turkey but in general. I’m also a MUSE fan. I believe people are comparing them because of their political messages (songs). Mvö is far more present in politics than Muse and they are really important for us. I can suggest you to listen GECE - Aşık Mıyız. They were a trio i believe they disbanded but they were really successful. Everyone thought of MUSE when they debuted
Not a trio my bad. But as a MUSE fan i was excited to hear that sound. Not expecting a reaction but if you have free time to listen, I would like to hear your opinion 😊
Aah! Mor ve Ötesi the good old days, love them!! Love love your reaction, you can tell how amazed you are ☺️!! Also this song inspired me to play the drums haha ✨
Believe me Lyrics are so meaningful as well. Harun(vocals) graduated from Philosophy Faculty and he is very intellectual as well. Their music really hits me and give me goosebumps with their nice melodies and lyrics :) Thanks for sharing my favourite band ! :)
Hiii, that orchestra is Avrasya Philharmonic Orchestra, and they really are so crowded, yet they are amazing. And that choir is MAGMA Philharmonic Choir, which is actually a combination of multiple choirs including Bogazici Jazz Choir, you may have heard about them. And if you didn't, i highly recommend it. Even though I'm not in the Jazz choir, im a part of one of the other choirs that creates the Philharmonic Choir, and these MVO concerts were really amazing and an honor to be a part of... glad you liked it :)
Turkish Muse demek tam Avrupavari olmuş ya. Zaten hemen hemen aynı tarihlerde ortaya çıkıyolar. Muse 1994, Mor ve Ötesi 1995’te. Yani zaten çağdaşlar birbirlerini etkilemiş olmaları olası fakat turkish Muse denince sanki taklit etmişler gibi anlaşılıyor
Hey Handsome. Mor ve Ötesi is one of the best rock groups in Turkey. I have never thought them being similar to Muse, but you are absolutely right. And that guitar solo damn, it always gets me too🙌🏻
This was a special concert. The place was an old church, which is called Aya Irini. The original version of the song is different. But thanx for your comments. We felt the same things while we were listening. Happh to hear that. :)
No both are true because mor ve ötesi is a game on words. Basically in turkish language beyond purple and ultraviolet are the same thing so it is just “and” added between words.
What i believe to be the exact translate, enjoy everyone! I have a problem i can't keep inside anymore, If i go, how far can i? If i stay, what is it good for? I couldn't tell, they couldn't understand Why is everyone an enemy? Why is everyone an enemy? We forgot it all, the breath of Noah Don't come to me, you're another i'm another now I have a problem i can't keep inside anymore If i go, how far can i? If i stay, what is it good for? I couldn't tell, they couldn't understand Look this is the last stage, there is no play after now No light, not anything, nothing, nothing
The effect there is called delay, one of the most frequently used effects. That riff is a very iconic one, because the timing of the each hit of sound you hear is perfectly done. The delay timing plus the incredible swingy play of the guitar they blend in so well. Which makes it an amazing riff. Shouldn't forget to mention the note progression and every time the cycle is done the feeling of arriving home :)
it is one of the best bands ever the lyrics are just amazing will make you cry and roll down in the deep the music is more then amazing the original track is awesome also btw
I have a problem now, I can't hold it inside me How far i go What good is it if I stay? I could never tell, they never understood Why is everyone an enemy? Why is everyone an enemy? We forgot it all, Noah's breath Don't come next to me, you're different, I'm different I have a problem now, I can't hold it inside me How far i go What good is it if I stay? I could never tell, they never understood Look, this is the final act, no after that No light,…
I love Muse and Mor ve Ötesi both but never noticed how similar they were before. Thanks, that was a great review ! Also thanks for making me feel old ~ the first time I’ve listened to this song was like ages ago. 😅
I have got a trouble , That I can't keep within myself anymore. If I go, how far I can? If I stay, what's the good? I could never tell. They could never understand. Why is everybody hostile? Why is everybody hostile? We've forgotten them all, the breath of Noah. Do not come to me. As You and I are different.
Hey Johnny I agree with you they always reminded me Muse. I've seen this show live and i believe it is a special show for so many reasons. The church Hagia Irene is more than 1600years old built in AC 300s. Today worlds greatest orchestras like Wienna and Berlin Philarmonics gives concerts there, has amazing acustics and atmosphere. Seeing a rock band there is a big thing.
your reactions are so genuine, I love it. just keep digging into Turkish music, all kinds, see for yourself how deep the rabbit hole goes... and believe me, it goes deep... you'll never be the same for knowing about some of the songs that only Turkish people know. Şebnem and all the others is just the tip of the iceberg.
I have a sorrow I have a sorrow, and cannot stand it anymore, no matter how far I go, no use if I stay. I couldn't get it through to anyone, they didn't understand it at all. Why everyone is hostile? Why everyone is hostile? We've forgot all of them, Noah's breath. Don't get close to me, we're different from eachother. Look! this is the last act. There won't be another play from now on. There will be no light, nothing at all. I have a sorrow, and cannot stand it anymore.
Thank you Johnny, a good reaction, they are a classical rock group, yes may be similar to Muse, but the singer's way of singing is more oriental for me :) Please check their eurovision song contest songs in 2008 with the name of "deli" which means mad, crazy... Surely the song is not a eurovision style song but a rock performance too :)
Hi dude I'm a chorist in that stage :) That building is a church in Istanbul. that choir name is Magma Choir (Part of Bogazici Cazz Choir). Also orchestra is one of the very succesful one. the band was represent Turkey at Eurovision wit song called Deli there are 2 version of that song both turkish and english. take care
In this symphonic work, Harun (The Singer) wrote all the notations himself It is the only Turkish band that has never "played back" in any concert or broadcast. By searching the name of the song, all the concert recordings you can find are live performances. And the most important thing !! "Mor Ve Ötesi (Purple and Beyond)" is not a group that will often come across the world. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this symphony concert. And thanks also to the leader of the group, Harun, who sang the song, for making us listen to his state of mind.
