Primarily the fact that Jared Leto walked in crutches to get into character of Michael Morbius which became a massive time-waster for the production team whenever Jared Leto had to go to the bathroom, (Apparently they were 45 minute bathroom breaks). They had to put Jared Leto in a wheelchair just to get production moving faster.

I'm sure blood drives still exist in that universe. He'd be fine. In fact, why did he even run from the cops? They would know he needs blood transfusions constantly.
