The bird hates cameras. He's normally not this angry, but he'll attack any camera he recognizes. Update: He passed away at the end of April 2020. That's typical 2020 for you. He never stopped hating cameras, though.
It's the camera he doesn't like. Something about the lens doesn't agree with him. I can't get any pictures of what he looks like when he's not angry because of that.
My green cheek, Gillie, died in May of 2020. He was 27 years old. He was a great talker, cuddly, but his excitement always came out thru his beak! I miss him so much.
Mine was constantly biting me. I let him bite me all he wanted for a few days and he decided biting doesn’t work on me. It’s painful but effective lol, he hasn’t bitten anyone in two years
Mine wouldn't bite me unless he got spooked badly by something else. He wouldn't tolerate strangers, though, so I had to keep him away from new people in the house. He was only angry in this video because of the camera, because for some reason he hates cameras and won't let me take a nice picture or video of him without attacking.
He was willing to drop just about everything for scritches. I also filmed this on a small camera rather than a phone since my family didn't use cameras in phones much until years later.
'What do you want, bird?' I'd hafta guess she wants to alternate between getting pets and biting you. Or maybe both at the same time. Don't feel bad - females of all species are often weirdly contradictory in their wants and needs (and often, behaviors). Fortunately, us men are quite used to this. 😊😊😊😊
@@JohnSmith-mk1rj Haha! You're so funny. My male conure attacks if you give him the wrong size of food and is always grumpy if you pay anyone but him attention, like a punishment. He also I'd always trying to size up other male birds for just making noises...What does that say about men 🙃 Fortunately, us women are used to it!
Oh my God, I just read the description. I'm so sorry for your loss. He was an adorable little bird. Very full of personality, just from this video alone.
I've never heard anyone else's conures make noises like he did. I almost wonder if he picked up the habits from a previous owner since he had one before us.
0:16 My mans -sounds like the treasure robot on the Rocket from Pikman 2. -Probs trying to summon a demon -honk honk honking to assert dominance on the pathetic non-avian lifeform before him that feeds him and pets him.
Oh my god i showed this too my conure she bit me so hard i was laughing so hard and she knew that I was laughing then she bit me in my lips and hand my hand is bleeding :(
@@cassieblackmoore2776 it's not blood they're looking for, conures are not carnivorous. It's the behavior and reaction of the human that they are looking for.
Strange things can set them off. My green cheek loved to be handled, would go down the v-neck of my top, come out of the sleeve and spend twenty minutes up at my face chewing on my ear or grooming my facial hair. I could wrestle her around with my hand, and she'd be about as gentle as a conure can be. I even got into a game of hiding my hand under a cushion, showing it, then hiding it again, and she'd run frantically trying to nip at the hand. When she got it, she wasn't too rough, just grabby. She knew it was a game and loved it. But, if I used a computer mouse around her, holy hell she was not happy. The hand got it and the mouse got it, and she meant it. I never really did figure out what that poor mouse did to offend her, but it was Sicilian vendetta type stuff.
My quaker caught my hand in the act of "mounting" my laptop mouse and it was the hardest she'd ever bit me (first time breaking the skin). Later I caught her trying to rip out the scroll wheel of my mouse mistress! They don't want us running off with that hussy. I've never had a green cheek but they look and sound adorable
I know mine doesn't like the phone at all. If I have my phone at hand he starts biting, until I put it down. Very adorable, they like all the attention for themselves.
That's precisely what was happening. He despised cameras unless they were well hidden, such as a cell phone camera. This was not filmed with a cell phone.
