Good gravy, did you see the size of the pimple on my face? It's like a moon colliding with a planet -- and I'm the planet!
Anyways, this was a fun one because I didn't actually have a plan to do it. It just sort of started and I went with it. That's what I love street photography for -- all it takes is a little push and you're into it. Today was no different.
I went really heavy on the grain with this one. Like, "strong and large" was the setting and I just left it that way. All the photos are straight out of camera and I absolutely do not remember my settings but I bet I could look them up if someone was actually interested.
I started writing a script for this one and then said "to heck with it" and mostly just rambled on until something clicked. Or had some semblance of "clickage."

Really nice images, like the warm tone of the image and lack of digital look. Did you use a base film sim for it?

Interesting challenge. I will definitely need to try this way of shooting. I'm quite "introvert" in terms of classic street photography, and I think this challenge could help me to overcome the fear to be "to aggressive" while shooting people. May I ask you which one was the first lens that you use, but you were not convinced?

excellent presentation both in images and comments. My photography is a constant exploration for me and you touched on all of my emotional touchstones that excite me to capture images. I call it 'paying' I say to myself 'what would be like if I try this or that, shoot this or that' with no other goal than to discover the outcome. that excitment of not knowing leads to 'failures' but not really a failure rather just not a success and often the outcome is a flash of insight or altered perspective. I look forward to following your journeys

“You don’t often see their misses.” I have a 2-5% keeper rate. As a result almost all my images are misses. I can tell you many ways to create an image that isn’t a banger. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)

What is street photography! Man i think what people call street photography has changed over the decades. The black and white days and capturing details of someone face with interesting face expression is what i call street photography. Nowdays photographer think differently about the subject and their permission in being part of the photograph. I’m the kind of person that loves asking permission or making sure the person that’s coming to the frame is aware of my camera. I don’t know if that’s called street photography or not … i don’t care! I’m having fun and that’s all that matters. A challenge for your next video is try asking people if you could take their photograph and just see what comes up. Ask 15 people a day for three days and talk about your experience. I feel like the youtube photo community is lack that connection with the subject and normalizing that conversation. I don’t think it will called streetphotography at that point but who cares! I think it’s about getting out of the comfort zone and that’s the point of street photography

Do you feel the xt5 is too big for travel ?

Not even remotely. It's a very comfortable camera to have in a small sling. Especially when you pair it with the 27mm f2.8, 18mm f2, or 35mm f2. Honestly -- it's a dream to shoot with.

Idk, I'd better skip taking photos altogether. There's missing important element using this method, composition. Your photos may all turn similar. Where's the fun shooting that way?

I'd say the composition element comes from knowing and trusting the focal length you are on. That said, this was definitely a little challenge I gave myself rather than a preferred method of shooting.
