This is the Gsteel with hidden design flaw. Because the glass is same level with the bezel. Thus it is exposed to scratches & the glass may break if it fall face down. Unlike previous Gstell models, the bezel should sit higher than the glass. It is indeed a handsome looking watch. But we all should accept the fact that no watch is perfect out there.

I’ve got one with the stainless strap,it’s a beautiful strap and very comfy also not too heavy.One extra cool feature is that you can name the alarms in the app,I set one to take out bins as a weekly on sundays and you can also set yearly on another like anniversary etc.

Great review! I was close to ordering this watch, and this helped me decide to get it.. You posed the question on why someone would turn off the automatic update time feature, i have 3 reasons why it would be a good idea for some,.. 1st is it does use up a fair amount of battery power and for people like me who live in Northern latitudes, I'm in Maine.. not much sun and not much sunshine ( I do put all my G-Shock solars and Citizens in the window sun every week) might want to shut it off and let it update just when they connect to it manually maybe once a week to update the time.. it shouldn't be off more than a sec. The 2nd reason is for anyone who doesn't have a smart phone but wants this watch can turn off the auto feature to save battery power. Also in the safe when I'm not wearing it, when it goes into power save mode, I would hope it turns the auto connect feature off, if not that would be another reason to turn it off. I also think it looks very industrial, robotic, and very tool watch looking.. awesome watch. thanks again for the review.

A watch suitable for James Bond 😉 Here in SA there is no time signal towers. My activity watch syncs via BT to my cell which is super handy. Also the app receives data from the watch for creating a history of various activities. I 💘 this Casio and the Tough Solar functionality is a splendid function.

Suggestion, when you adjust to the different settings it would help to state which button you are pushing. You have your fingers on 4 of the buttons and when you push to set to a different setting it’s difficult to know which one your pushing. It would be a ‘Great Video’ if you made that adjustment in your review/tutorial.

The only downside is that this model doesn't have that gap like other G shocks that protects the screen from scratches, besides that, it's an amazing watch!

The GST B200 arrived 2 days ago, and I can honestly say this feels very nice on the wrist, it looks and feels quality, I have both Omega and Rolex, but this Casio is just brilliant

Did you set the world time independently of the phone? Manual states phone required. Just want to scroll through different timezones just to check without need for phone. Like a normal

Had this watch about 7 months. My main gripe is the alarm configuration. Why did Casio design a useless schedule alarm. Eg. You can't set it to weekdays only. Glad to hear other views.

Mav - I agree with your thoughts on the watch aesthetics. Holding off until Casio releases more carbon ani-digi offerings in smaller case diameters. Only comments on this video is the +17-minute length and hoping you can darken your studio for lume shots. Keep up the good work thanks.

Does the red bar next to Connect (BlueTooth symbol) turn on/off Red (as in light up) after connecting with the phone or is it always red (like a permanent hardware fixture). Also what does the 'R' stand for?

Hi Maverick/viewers, I wrote to the CEO Casio G shock in Japan listing what I considered to be shortfalls in watch design/function e.g why only lume on the hour./minute hands and not on hour markers.Why can't all the backlights be the same and better, alarm sound too weak, plus many more. Functions seem to be what the designer wants and not the customer. I received an extremely disappointing reply from the assistant CEO, which really didn't address my questions, just regurgitated promotional wording and cost/technical excuses. Maybe we are all getting a bit too critical!

Nice review. Can I ask a question, whilst it’s clear that this watch does time updates through Bluetooth by connecting to a smartphone, does it not have an atomic/multiband time updating feature?

I think the atomic multiband 6’s day has passed. I have this watch and love it. It updates 4 times a day to my phone app and keeps perfect time literally to the fraction of a second. I can manually give it a time sync in about 2 seconds anytime I want with one touch- not that I need to because it is always perfect to the second. I have had an Atomic multiband G-shock and it sucks compared to this method of updating. With atomic you either need to live in the right area or have it near a window at night, etc then atomic works-maybe. At least that is my experience. Bluetooth syncs flawlessly and automatically multiple times a day. Once every couple days would be enough- this watches sync is overkill- amazing. Happy shopping.

Go for gshock. I have the elder brother of aqualand which is the aquamount. It has on issue! Something is making the lcd become dim & it will fades. It seems the battery that made for these watches produce gas that will tarnish the back glass and eventually the lcd will get effected. I dont know about aqualand but if u ask me... Go for gshock unless u r a diver.

I bought one last week. I noticed one defect in mine, but also in this sample and other videos: The second hand is not well aligned with the second notches, especially on 12.00 one. @Maverick, can you confirm? it's really evident at 11.10

That’s typical of quartz watches. From the cheapest Walmart special up to Rolex and Omega quartz. The seconds hitting the marks are hit or miss. It doesn’t effect timekeeping as the second hand is not connected to the hour and minute. You’d think there would be a fix for this but there isn’t across the industry. It’s not a defect, it’s a byproduct of how quartz watches work. You don’t notice it on mechanical watches because the second hand sweeps.

I've this watches and no problem found with this. However, I've a several Citizen watches which also have the offset problems. Factory reflected that it's not included to the after-sales categories. Btw, it's the first time I've found at Casio world.

The app allows you to correct the second hand position if it ever gets out of whack while swinging around through the different functions. You can adjust it through an app button until you are happy. Mine has been right in from the factory.

Lets se if i understand this right: so this watch does not have a time signal receiver, but instead connects via bluetooth sync to the cellphone? - if so, thats a totally new function, but a bit more complicated than the radio receiver, i have a Casio with the radio receiver built in, and it makes all time adjustments automatically, no need for any "connections"! - today almost all gadgets connects to your cellphone, but many times i think, is it really necessary?, maybe they implement these things for people that has a lot of time, and nothing other, more creative things to do! :D - on the other hand, the watch looks awesome, and very "high tech", very nice design! - i might even buy it, but not for the bluetooth! thanks for the review! greetings, Levi from Finland (i saw the "automatic" connection mode, but you still have to have your bluetooth connection on, and working..hm...)

i agree multiband is better IF your country has this, better still is GPS which some higher end gshocks have. this is still good though and very easy to do, but multiband would have been nicer

I couldn't help but notice the poor second hand alignment, that's one of the reasons i prefer digital G-Shocks. Hand alignment seems off on so many watches, even some very expensive ones. Still, it's a great looking G-Shock.

Hold light button down for about 3 seconds and you'll see the "LT" indicator come on in the display. Same procedure to turn it off.

Jhony Zaman These are the two time periods of battery drain: • 6 months on rechargeable battery (operation period with normal use without exposure to light after charge) • 20 months on rechargeable battery (operation period when stored in total darkness with the power save function on after full charge).
