This is one of my own training sessions where I played 1000 straight stroke shots. I want to find out if this helps with the accuracy and If i can recommend this extreme special method to anybody else.
I added 27 games before I started watching your videos and I was where I won 7 out of 27. Since I've been watching your videos I did 28 matches and I've won 18 out of 28 thank you for your videos

I will say you improved my game. I started out with a 200 Fargo. I used to play for fun, now I take serious on an obsessive level. I have been doing your mighty X drill from your other video with 0 pre strokes. This drill has changed my game. Often times I will practice doing this for 5 hours. My abilities have gone up so fast I have been eliminated intermediate players at my local pool hall twice my Fargo. The other night I beat a 481 Fargo in 3 different matches. One match I defeated him 2-0. This is all thanks to YOUR recommendations.
Great effort, Jasmin! I always start my training session with the same drill, but not 1000 shots, tho. I'll shoot 10 stop shots, then 10 follow shots(to the pocket) and lastly 10 draw shots(to the pocket). And only when I have accomplished all of them to perfection, I'll move on to the next drill of the day. Thanks for all the great content, you are a gift to the pool community! Repetition training is one of the best tools! Thank you for your insights and feedback because that is just as important as the shots. You do an amazing job being authentic and inspiring in your videos!

"Perfect practice makes perfect". Awesome! I was impressed with Mr. Cue Ball when he took over 240 attempts to replicate one shot. Love your desire to improve!!
Jasmine, I have a strong appreciation for the dedication necessary to do what you did. I love this drill, I do the exact same thing as a stroke warm up every time I get on a table...But I warm up with just 20 or so!!! Lol. I'm pretty patient, and could force myself to do 100 or 2 without issue...but 1000 is COMMITMENT! Very impressive. I've been doing this warmup for the last couple of months and it has help my game quite a bit, especially in terms of set-up, alignment, staying relaxed and trusting my stroke on longer shots

Thank you, thank you, thank you. It takes some time, but I can't tell you how much hitting 1000 stop shots helped my game. After doing this, I am amazed at how much more natural lining up, walking in, pre-stroking and stroking now feel. I can finally keep my mind OUT OF MY GAME! I have to admit though, I couldn't do it in one session. Being 65 years old, my old back couldn't take it. I did it in four sessions (250 balls each) morning and evening over two days. Keep on making your videos please, they are super helpful, and fun also. Good luck in your next tournament!!!
Jasmin, you've been one of my favorite pros for a long time (I do know Jennifer Baretta and Tony Robles personally) and I love your videos. I too have problems with straight shots. I am only a 330 Fargo & an APA SL3 although I think I'm better. I enter all tournaments in the NY area against much better players. I too have trouble with straight shots. Before every tournament or league I do the straight shot drill you recommended in another video where you put all 15 balls lined up between the side pockets and shoot each straight into the corner and repeat each miss until it goes in. I've improved greatly since I started doing it last summer. I thank you for all your videos!!

This is the difference between amatuers and pros. I practice a version of this with the object ball, cue ball closer to the pocket. I am loath to admit my personal best is 38 before I miss or rattle one. Mads props for the dedication and focus!
I did 500 in about 3 hours by the end I was I could really see a difference, I wanna keep trying for the thousand. another great drill thanks for sharing Jasmin 🥇❤

Interesting! This is actually my first set of practice routines. Two racks of total 22 balls. As she said, it’s about cuing straight and eliminating unwanted side spin.
Jasmin, this is a very timely video. I've been working on this in my practice session. Wow! 1,000 shots in 4 hours. We'll done! You're actually very physical fit, but what about those with some physical limitations. Maybe 100 at a time?
Great video on practice, I like this one it helps me follow threw an shoot straight an also stop the cue ball. ( most of the time ). I am getting there. Thanks for your help, and you can still Smile after all that work out.
Hi Jasmine. Among all the Tutorial videos that ive watched. I can say this one is perhaps that levitated my game that much. Its a shame that ive been playing pool for around 25yrs since 1999. But for 24yrs my game never really ascended from BEGINER for 24yrs. But lastyear i just decided that im gonna get serious, and since lastyear, ive been watching tutorials and practicing extensively. Ive watche many tutorials. But damn, this specific video just really helped me alot. Now finally i can pocket easy to medium shots consistenly. And my target is to be able to clean up a 9ball before this year ends. Jasmin thanks so much. Honestly YOU and NIELS FEIJEN really helped me alot without you knowing it.
I've done this a couple of times, yeah it's brutal but the benefits outweigh the pain by orders of magnitude. I reset the CB after every shot, so it really did take longer. Had to break it into 300 makes per session, as I averaged about 5-6 hours to accomplish that, so spread it out over the course of a week. To break the monotony, I alternate between left and right sides, also draw/follow 1 diamond, 2 diamond, scratch, pocket speed stop shot, whatever else your imagination comes up with. Audiobooks and podcasts are also greatly helpful, especially sports psychology books. I listened to the Steven Hendry book and Ronnie's latest book doing this practice. Hope this helps someone else take their game to the next level.
Ya do good work young lady. For us old goats, it helps to remind us of what we used to know and forgot AND we're not so old that we cannot learn some new things along the way. So thank you for this and all that you do. BTW, on the few you did miss, concentration? stroke? cross eyed? World class smile btw, always good to see...
I used to shoot 300 straight in shots a day in this format and i would keep track of the misses to. My best was 4 misses. Did you keep track of your misses. A few times I did so bad that I quit counting misses. To do a 1,000 in a set is outstanding - GREAT JOB.
Oh my God! That is a lot of hitting balls. When I need to work on a certain shot I might hit that shot 300 times in a row and that is painful to do. The same shot over and over and over is not fun in the end run. One thousand of the same shots is brutal. Well done. Takes a helluva lot of discipline to do that.
Im a beginner and 2 weeks ago, i started doing that straight shot practice to master the fundamental myself (ongoing). Cueball at second diamond, OB at 2.5 diamonds and straight from 2 pocket and perform stun, draw, follow each days. Feel a lot confident in games
Much like me you may be on a road to carpral tunnel, back programs and other unwanted hinderances only because we are taking extreme measures to learn rather than mentally preparing and applying and then studing more when we are in doubt. I admire your dedication to get better at something you are passionate about. I am trying to get better at long distance shots and banks and while I have made progress i notice my progress doesnt show when I am mentally or physcially spent. And that can be confusing when trying to improve. My advice would be to practise when you are fully rested and try to stop before you lose focus and get mentally tired. Sometimes we tend to worry so much about improving that we either burn out or just become frustrated with the results we are getting and the flaws in our game still being a hurdle to overcome. Sometimes we will just learn in the best envirement to improve automativally when we are just playing around and for fun. So invite a friend over to play a match and help eachother with some drills that arent so taxing on you. Plan the day and order a nice meal and then the work becomes play and sont worry about success or fail, just enjoy the process.

WOW girl you are serious!!! I don't know if I played 66 racks before but I have played 5 hours straight before. It's been awhile since I have played..... ESPECIALLY REGULARLY and I want to get back into it.
To all players; relaxing the body (e.g. standing up for 10 seconds, taking a drink of water, or just walking around the table) after each or a set number of racks might take more time, yet it is part of the practice of muscle memory & mentality during games. Stay proud while preparing your body & mind as a player.
Any true pool player who have done similar drills will like ans subscribe for her commitment to the video! My mentor told me its not just hitting 1000 ball that make you better but 1000 quality balls! So this is a win win for JO!!
Have been practicing standard balls lately, and the long straight one is one of them. It's baffling how inconsistent I am. One day, I make 13 of 15. The next time only 5 of 15. Then again 12 of 15. Maybe a practice session like this would help me get more consistency.
Hi Jasmin, did you shoot with close hand bridge as well. For me personally, I feel like my stroke is a bit more straight with open hand. So when I do a drill similar to this, I shoot some with close hand bridge as well. Curious on what your feedback on this.
I did this with 500 shots for a couple sessions. it is a grueling and it got harder as the racks went along because the focus goes away. Very tough drill.
I'm conviced shes one of the best female pool players after seeing her drill regiment. I do have a similiar approach thats why it resonates a lot watching and applying her advice and technique.
I really like your videos and have learned from them. I am an old man (81) who hasn’t played in about 45 years. When I used to play I never knew about spin or the effects it had on the object ball. I was a decent shot maker before but now I have old eyes, a severe essential tremor, and I can’t get my head or chin close to the que. I do have difficulty in pocketing balls on the rail with the cut angle more than 20 degrees. Do you have any suggestions? One more question, where are you from? (If you don’t mind)
Not much you can do about getting down lower, but you could use the loop bridge to steady your delivery if not already doing so. Also try cueing more along your chest if you can (might be hard if not getting low enough), and ensuring you have a good pause before delivery to steady yourself.

Last time i had 5,5h traning session. 4,5 h of trying making max straight pool break (my max there was 15 points, awful...) and 1h of playing with random people from the club. It was not very effective if we talk about technique, but my mind has been clear after that. "Yeah, that was training, I'm tired, I done the best what I could do" - that was my mind after it all. But I know, It wasn't the best for me, because i'm was repeating many times my common mistakes. So I don't know that long, repetitive training session are good for all kind of players. It's for people with manic tendencies, generally 😅. (Yeah, sorry, I don't speak English fluently, but my mind should be clear enough! Have a nice day!)
Do you have a video explaining what type of tip a beginner should practice with. I can't seem to freeze the ball cue ball after it hits the other ball. I saw how low you aim the cue ball but mine pops up. Is it my cue tip size? I didn't know anything about which pool stick to buy, so the store told me to get carbon fiber and standard size tip (which ever that means). I am thinking I should be getting a smaller size tip?
