have you seen the broski checkmate clip with A.K.I. where he killed someone from 100% because of burnout pressure that was the perfect example of how bad burnout can go

Yes I have seen that clip, just shows that you should always try and avoid burnout in SF6.

My favorite part about burnout is that it's only as punishing as your opponent makes it. If they don't know their character's burnout strings or are predictable with their DI, you end up punishing them for their overconfidence in the offensive pressure afforded by their drive advantage. It's rarely ever truly "checkmate".

Burnout is a death sentence for sure, but it's what you get for overextending yourself. Never go into burnout unless you know it's going to kill and luring your opponent into burnout is a legitimate strategy

One thing I probably should've talked about more is that the Guard Break Setup is legitimately useful at the wall, even against people who know about it. You can set up a wall splat so that you hit the first hit of KIN 2 1+2, and then if they tech roll, the 1+2 will hit them guaranteed on wakeup into the Guard Break. The reason why this is actually useful whilst the non-wall combo is a complete gimmick is because theres basically no tell for it, and the few tells there are for the wall combo are so quick that its basically unreactable. This setup can be beaten by doing any getup kick I believe since Yoshi is far too close to the opponent to avoid any of them, but if you notice people like to tech roll after a wall combo you can go for the Guard Break setup and basically relaunch them. This situation is a complete mixup rather than a gimmick, so your oki is actually real if you practice this near the wall :)

I know this will sound random and a little off-topic from the main theme of this video, but thank you so much for having the voice option set to Japanese for Soulcalibur II. I don't mind the cast of English voice actors in SC3 and so on, but I personally can't stand the English dub in SC2. My sincerest apologies to Wendee Lee, whose performance as Xianghua's VA throughout the series has significantly improved since SC3, but the fact that you specifically featured the Japanese voices does my heart good.

Liked, subbed, loved both these videos, HOWEVER- I solo main Yoshimitsu, I *like* the inclusion of (NSS)KIN.2,1+2* on account of it being Yoshimitsu, I just don't feel like it's a dumb, stupid, or broken strategy. For a long, long time now, Yoshimitsu's game plan in Tekken has been defined by knowledge checks and *VERY* strong okizeme tools to compensate for his very unorthodox kit. He lacks comfortable tools present in the vast majority of the cast. He has virtually zero strings that are both more than 3 hits and mix high/mids and lows, lacks in unique throws, and the knowledge check hits both ways. Denying your opponent a safe wake up with (NSS)KIN.2,1+2* *already* requires a launch, which is not free by any means, even with NSS.FC.df+3 (Spinning Cleave). Spinning Cleave is also just a Mishima Hellsweep, except a Spinning Cleave is telegraphed and readable, while Hellsweep is *unreadable* because it's an i16 command move. It's not *as* insufferable as it was in Tekken 7 (now it only launches at the wall, not just... always lmao), but the combination of his i16 low-hit Hellsweep & i17~18 mid-hit f,F+4, both unreadable (not realistically reactable on sight) with the goal of locking an opponent down indefinitely; aka "the Vortex". This has been a staple of Kazuya's gameplan as far back as (probably) Tekken 5. It forces a coinflip situation from (either move's) knockdown whether to block another unreadable Hellsweep low, or another unreadable f,F+4 mid. And that just accounts for _two_ moves that can, hypothetically, lock you down until KO, not accounting for the Kazuya player to predict or adapt to _your_ adaptations.
