It is just amazing, I started airbrushing a month ago, and this is something I have want it to learn from 40 years and finally I got the time to make it and would like to get to that detail. You just make it easy.. You should put the stencil out there so we can follow you and try to make it.. thank you

Great job and attention to the bones of the skull. In the skull, anatomy is most important.

Thanks Tim! i am not as well versed in anatomy as you... but I do at least somewhat pay attention to it :)

i dropped this in the beginners playlist, because i really feel these are the next concepts after learning basic shapes.. there is nothing inherently HARDER about these shapes, theres just a lot more of them put together as you progress :) Thanks!

Hi is it possible to make a living airbrushing or is it really a dead skill like I’ve been told before ? Am I better off using brushes or spray cans ? Appreciate any help !
@TheAIRspace
@TheAIRspace Год назад
its certainly possible.. i make a modest living at it. however I also am using it in more a fine art situation versus traditional airbrush art more often than not. T shirt guys make a killing in the right spots. And if you can get into the automotive side there is some good money there too. I would be more focused on what type of art you are drawn to, than what makes the most most money and take your local market into account.

@@TheAIRspace Thankyou, i would love to do street art murals but I am terrible at cans but decent as airbrush. Also I like doing painting on canvas so would you recommend paint brushes instead as there maybe more of a market ? Also 99% of airbrush artists that I come across seem to make there incomes doing some other form of art.

I airbrush to canvas a lot... i dabble with brushes. I do pet and human portraits. I don't market myself as an "airbrush artist" when seeking customers. I advertise paintings. usually people are very suprised my work is airbrush. With more time marketing i could increase my volume. The same struggles to sell art as an airbrush artist or acrylic or oils watercolors etc are very much the same. Now highbrow galleries may snub you if you are doing "original" work with an airbrush to sell in galleries. But not likely if your work is unique. But after covid I have not even entertained the idea of pursuing gallery work.

Do You make your own gadgets your using to make the piece.? That flat material you use often to create small textures with looks like something I need for sure. I did not see it in any of your lists to purchase.

some ive made myself. Some i have bought. I am about to make a video on making your own stencils again very soon. I have a LOT of various stencils.. however i wind up only using 3 regularly. one with dots, one random scattered stencil and the blackbeard wheat.

@@TheAIRspace and the blackbeard wheat. I looked on the site you gave for supplies ....endless Been in art for years but never airbrushing. I like portraits. Your teaching me so much. But I have not gotten all supplies yet. Your in Tennessee ...I'm in Alabama... This will certainly be a whole new beginning. Thank you sir! Your utube pages are the only ones I watch.

@@bbwhite1955 the blackbeard wheat get it from hobby lobby or michaels. its a floral technically. Ask they will know. The texture stencils I use now are from Hammair.art i have lots, but there is something to be said about having a couple and learning to use them in interesting ways. if you look at the last cat video I did I showed how often ill drag them to create texture. I will definitely do some updated videos on texture creation. But im still a big fan of freehanding a lot of it.. of course that takes some time to master.
@bbwhite1955

@@TheAIRspace Yes I watched the cat video several times. I want to do several animals and study them closely. Each body part. I want to capture the expression in their eyes. Thank you for your effort to teach.

Nice 👍 Eye sockets and nasal cavities can be boring when their just completely black, people forget that there's bone inside at the rear of those cavities 😉
@TheAIRspace
@TheAIRspace Год назад
Thanks Neil.. im gonna paint another version of this with blacked out sockets and another version with intermediate level form and shadow i think.. Just to highlight the differences and what you can get. while this was still fairly quick im sure that much texture seems daunting to some. for certain it has a lot in there, but it was a lot of texture stencils and splatter and stippling to get the majority of it.
