Just getting back into airbrushing again after 12 years away and lost all my confidence with my brushes but i've bought the new 2024 evolution and i'm getting there again . The natural flow with an airbrush is in my experinance is the most satisfying moment in airbrushing . I'm not getting this at the moment but i remember years back airbrushing 2 o'clock in the morning creating some great Art which sold at a charity auction for good money . Hopefully your brushes will give me that feeling again 👌

I would like to change my trigger on my H&S infinity CR plus giraldez airbrush. The trigger has a lip on the front of it which hurts my index finger. I really love the airbrush.
Thank you for creating these videos! Your content is always a pleasure to watch. I am having fun with my new evolution 2024. What might cause paint to collect on the very end of the needle cap? I'm finding that paint is collecting there on occasion. Thank you in advance!
There is one problem that I have and the reason I find it hard playing darts. I am left handed, but right eye dominant. It wasn’t until I picked up an airbrush to practice precision, that I realised the problem exists here as well. Hey ho. Not sure what the answer is .

Actually Ultra 2024 is a wonderful tool to learn the muscle memory of trigger control. People can try to stop the trigger a little bit early than touched the collar to learn the muscle memory to those 4 settings. That is what I am practicing now. Those muscle memory can apply to all airbrushes. Just change the distance between airbrush and object with those trigger control for all airbrushes.
Hey Warrick, a while back you posted asking about tips about how to grow your channel. My spectrum ass has been dwelling on that since then. First, I wanna say that your content is amazing. Very helpful and I don’t even yet own an HS airbrush (I’m waiting to make the Infinity 24 my first). Second, it dawned on me that: - your videos only show up when you look for HS! - I’ve been following mini painting channels for a couple of years but never saw your channel until I manually searched for it after seeing a recommendation from Art Workshop airbrush art channel Point being - I think maybe if you edit your tags/descriptions to maximize reach via the algorithm to reach broad painters rather than just HS owners/people interested in HS. Like, I’ve learnt so much about airbrushing from you and your guests, I just want your channel to grow so other see it and we keep getting awesome content.

Hi. I started with the ULTRA 2024 and mecha models. I am very happy with the results. But the model colors I have for the plastic models seem to work not so well on paper. Or at least my settings for model building do not translate so well. Which vallejo air paint, settings and paper do you recommend for practicing?
If you’re using Vallejo just go for 1:1 with their thinner… if you want to paint for a really long time in paper, then mix the paint an hour before you use it and just let it sit. The thinner changes the base slightly and gives very nice flow.

Just one small comment, about the production, not the content of the video, when you want us to listen to the air flow (6.00), can you turn off the background music? It just makes it easier for us old fogies to hear. Too many rock concerts in my youth. 😁😁😎😎
As always, great information! I airbrush my turned wooden bowls with Fiber Reactive Dyes, and am going to try the method you use for overlapping to do my fades. I am also going to see what I can do with making dots! Thank you very much for all the information you share. Time to get out my HS Ultra for the next session.
One week ago, I acquired the new Evolution 2024 at the EME 2024 at Lingen. My first trials with this new airbrush are extremely convincing! Since I am an aviation scale modeller, I have to spray free hand soft edged camouflage schemes, fine lines and small details with modelling paints. Even with old more tricky paints, like Xtracrylix, which normally tend to behave reluctantly while clogging the needle tip immediately, I am now able to create nicely defined lines without cleaning the needle tip every 30 seconds. The trigger now is constantly reacting at a fixed position. With new high quality paints, like MRP, Mr. Color, Elita Life Colors, Hataka Orange, etc., airbrushing sessions without any single interruption by clogging are now possible! It is a pure joy to work with this airbrush! Some of my friends now have or will order the Evolution 2024 soon and I plan to retrofit my older Evolutions and Infinities with the new 0.28mm needle.
I’ve been thinking of the trigger like the clutch in a car. That feel when the motor hooks in compared to when the paint starts to flow. You get used to the clutch like you get used to the brush trigger.
And if that’s true then the Excenter is like a differential - the Ultra is nice and soft, up to the new Infinity which is like a limited slip racing diff so that you can do anything! 🤩

Another great video, great tutorial, from the main man👍💜😊 I airbrush like I've used a spray gun (from time to time - plus I had mates in the trade who were painters), off - on - off of the work, following a 'wet' line. I even use a rattle can - with a handle - the same way. It shocked me seeing some RU-vidrs wobbling the airbrush around all over the place - is that to try and stop tip dry🤔😳😲🤔
The wobbling is just an intuitive technique to try to get even coverage, I think. But the technical way is more of a guarantee for success. However, there is a technique in scale modelling which resembles the wobble, but isn't, and that's the technique of black basing and marbling on the base colour. Actually quite fascinating technique to achieve realistic finishes on military models and aircraft. Very cool. W
I finally got my compressor, and got to test my squidmar ultra! But I stopped under preparation, because i noticed that the airbrush is constantly leaking air through the needle. Is it supposed to be like this? I have never unassembled the airbrush.
Hey buddy - just remove the quick disconnect tail, and then you'll see a small brass coloured screw under the airvalve - it fits a small flat blade screwdriver. Just tighten that up a little bit, and the problem will be over. You just need a little spring tension on the airvalve. Keep us informed! W
Thanks for this! I tighten it quite a bit, feels like it can't go any further.. But it works quite well now, would say a very small air leakage every 2/5 times i press the trigger, otherwise its sealed. Thanks a lot for the help!! =)
Yes, I do see and I also have done airbrushing model cars with the shaky method, Practicing the edge method does take practice. My house painter also airbrushed my house with this same method, and nor so messy and less tip dry, thanks......good tips for all......
I love the content you are putting out. So much so, that I realised that I needed to up my airbrushing game. I purchased a very inexpensive airbrush and to be honest, it has some fine qualities that are usually found on more expensive airbrushes. Variable trigger tension, a rear screw for retarding the trigger travel, the ability to swap out paint cups and a self-centering needle housing. It atomises pretty good too. BUT FOR HOW LONG!! So, Warwick, your no-nonsense videos about all things Harder and Steenbeck sealed it for me. I knew it was time to invest in something that would never let me down. I read reviews on Iwata, Badger, Paasche, Sparmax and new kids on the block, Gaahleri. However, everything led me back to Harder and Steenbeck and, in turn, that led to the Infinity Cr Plus. Ok, I know looks aren’t everything, but if it were human, it would be oozing sex appeal! Should I start with the Ultra, progress to the Evo and then when my competency had advanced enough, go for the Infinity? Actually, no. I realised the Infinity has the ability to progress my skills from novice to expert built in to it. I am now the proud owner of the Infinity CR Plus 2-in-1. I have already completed my first project and it was like stepping from a Skoda to a Porsche! All I need now are the Teflon washers to do the quick fix for the slight trigger delay. I hope H&S manufacturer a genuine upgrade part for this. However, the quick fix works just fine. Thank you so much for your brilliant videos and tutorials.

Another great video. I purchased the 2024 Evolution and wow what a nice airbrush. I had a upper line airbrush and I have to say the 2024 Evolution puts it to shame. Smooth, easy to clean and the work I have been doing is a lot better. Keep the learning videos comming

Any paper works well for practice really - even newspaper is fine. The point is that it's rather more forgiving as it is slightly absorbent, so it does help give a bit more encouragement than a non-porous surface when trying new things. W

We humans are so tightly aligned to pattern recognition that my greatest weekend ritual (rituals are after all a satiation of our need for patterns) is Saturday morning coffee in my otherwise silent house and Warrick enlightening me to some aspect of airbrushing. My world, and welcome to it.
Hey quick question the dagger stroke seems like a great way to do a headlight lighting effect on models, could you do it in reverse ? So start at the point (the headlight) and work out and away to get the light dispersion ?
