Albert- I’ve just discovered your channel 2 weeks ago and hv been binge-watching all your videos! You hv made me break out all my paints again-I’ve been struggling for a long time w a creative block, and your painting challenges are really helping me. I am drawn to geometric abstraction, and was glad there were many videos on that subject, yet the landscape videos are the ones I’m going to work with bc the softness/ blurry-edged quality is so out of my comfort zone. Your teaching style, generosity w your knowledge, and playful demeanor are easy to connect with, and you hv even introduced me to some artists that I wasn’t aware of. I wanted to make a suggestion for future artists videos: Jennifer Bartlett and Bridget Riley. Thank you for all you do in inspiring, challenging, and unleashing the innate creative we all hv inside. ❤🙏❤️🙏❤️

Thanks, Helen, I have goosebumps all over. I just put out the videos, hoping they will be of use. And it's fun to do, of course. Artist block is a nightmare, but I also have the idea that sometimes it's there because of high expectations or whatever judgemental thinking, inside or pushed from the outside. No judgment, just sympathy for the ones suffering. I have my own internal battles, and part of my painting routine is a sort of resistance against how it should be or look like. Therefore, I look for artists who support my ideas that anything can be okay or be art as well. To support others who just like to play with art tools without a money-goal of looking for outside respect. I just want to show that things can be done differently. Ugly and sloppy are my companions because most of the time, I just paint as a visual 'sketch' to show what I talk about or how my brain is wired or sees connections. Bridget Riley is marvelous, but also on such a high level of skill and detail that I haven't found my way to make a video about her. Jennifer Bartlett is new to me, but she triggers something, I'll put her on my (growing) list. Please throw other names as well, preferably of women, because men get enough already 😉 Be well, peace, Albert P.S. do you have a nice idea for a next challenge you would like to join in on? Artist? Geometric abstract, perhaps?

Of course, Susanne, that's the fun of the challenge: to show a variety of art on one subject. Art can be a lot and the skills level is not an issue overhere. Having fun is essential. Thanks for participating, Albert

Do you see that on the left of the cut square there is a pink shape that totally looks like a face?
@ImperfectPaintings
@ImperfectPaintings Год назад
Welcome to the club, Enrica. There are always so many faces in my artwork that I stopped looking, noticing, and mentioning. Some explain it as pareidolia, an official scientific term. I see it as people, spirits, energies, or whatever who drop by in my painting to say 'hi'. I see them as teasing me because I always say I'm not good at painting portraits. But another aspect of it is that when I start looking for them, I can't paint freely anymore. How is that for you? Albert
@enricakita1
@enricakita1 Год назад
@@ImperfectPaintings I think I have pareidolia myself. I see faces everywhere. Fortunately they are always friendly/funny faces. Some people with pareidolia are terrified by what they see! But I tend to go with it. Both me and my partner enjoy seeing faces on beaches and give them a helping hand with seaweed and shells, just like kids. Most of my digital drawings have faces in them. But if I want to be free I think I can, by just finding faces at the very end. Sometimes I ignore them, sometimes I try to enhance them, and that almost never works!
@ImperfectPaintings
@ImperfectPaintings Год назад
They are magical, and I only mess up when I try to enhance them. I stopped and just let them be. Love your story on the beach, and treasure your inner child.
