i would be supercool to have some insights into what you guys do or change in your training in order to peak at certain times! especially since everbody is talking about peaking for the OQS or the olympics themselves, and i just really have no idea what they mean by that, if they try to be super strong, or well rested, or climbing loads of volume etc.. it seems like a really intruiging concept to me though!
Random comments: 1- I _really_ appreciate the different angles for the same boulder(s). For some of them it doesn't really matter but for some others it allows us to understand in more depth the movement/cruxes, especially on project level problems. 2- Being Zach with an iffy shoulder looking up V12s on the kilter: *F*ck them shoulders* -- sounds good to me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Cool! Yeah I’ll get multiple angles when I can, but usually the gym traffic determines where I set up my camera! I don’t want to be too invasive on the other climbers. Lolll luckily this boulder was hard on my good should and less on my bad one. But yeah still maybe not smart 😵💫
Love the videos as always, what you said is very true and understated in climbing and exercise in general. I think having fun / picking more enjoyable exercises for yourself is the most important thing for building strength, often training "optimally" is highly stressed and while it is important, if you do not enjoy what training you are doing (on the wall included) then you will not try hard and subsequently will not make progress. Also, I'd love to see a video including your day in the life in terms of eating I.e. macronutrient goals for a day, favorite pre/post workout meals/snacks, if that's something you'd enjoy covering of course. Keep it up either way!
dude what the hell you 5,11 at 150 pounds. insane man, im 5'6 and im 150 pounds. how do you stay lean? whats your diet like. i thought we had similar dimensions XD
Haha long story short- I have a strong metabolism and I try to opt for lower calorie products. For example I’ll go for 0% unsweetened Greek yogurt instead of something more tasty ;)
Mmm yeah maybe. Honestly sometimes our bodies are just the way they are and there’s not too much we can do about it while staying healthy/happy! There are climbers way lighter than me and I know there’s nothing I can do about it!
hey zach I was just wondering what kind of earbuds you use while you're climbing? I would love to have my own music while I'm climbing but I'm worried about sending an earbud flying mid dyno lol
I use the apple AirPods because they fit my ears super well, but I know that’s not the case for everyone. I think most people say that beats usually fit well, at least that’s what I’ve heard from some other climbers
I know the channel is mostly focused on comp climbing, but have you thought about trying for some outside stuff in the offseason? That would be so hype! Also, any reason for why you guys don’t also try for lead comps?
