We are Zach and Maddie! We're professional sport climbers on the Canadian National Team and specialize in bouldering. Our channel is home to the COMPCLIMB training series; a video series in which we record and share most of our training! We also make educational-style videos dedicated to specific climbing topics (recommendations are always welcome)!

Huge pulls Maddy! You can definitely get a bit more if you peaked for it and took a bit bigger jumps/longer rests. I was curious and did some searching and there is surprisingly few sources of world record weighted pullups for women, it's almost all male records. I did find one on the WorldPullUp website that says a Polish woman Katarzyna Najman did 60kg while weighing 56.5kg.

I haven't watched the whole video but idk why you think the world record for heaviest weighted pullup is 52kg, if you just look up "heaviest weighted pullup" on youtube you'll see a guy pulling up 125kg in the first video. Nonetheless your 52.2kg lift is very impressive! 💪🔥

Yeah, there is a lot of guys pulling around 100 kgs. Instead woman are completely different field in this category. Whereas I think in squads they can be similar or even better, depends on total weight. But its impressive anyway. I cant pull with 50 kgs (just yet :) )
@boulderingnoob

@weakhandshunter I am a guy and I can't even pull 30kg 😅🥲
@loiduongjr
@loiduongjr Час назад
@@weakhandshunter the wr squat differential is over 400 lbs. Woman are closer or equal to men in ultra long distance running events and even better in ultra long distance swimming due to fat distribution. On pure strength, genetics are not really possible to overcome but with sports where technique or grit are the deciding factor the competition is closer!

So, huh, what's the context? Is it by weight class? Or just bodyweight%? Were you just both chill, Maddie editing a video, Zach reading the newspaper when one of you shouted YOU SHOULD ATTEMPT WPU WR! Talking about editing, music was fire. Is it what usually gets you in the zone? Final abstract comment/question; *Does that mean we will get a 9C strength test?!* Mhm, maybe the espresso is kicking in, after all.

Sick video as always! 12:05 I have a question, what do you think allows him to stop on the volume. The things I can think of are shoe and rubber, being able to drop the heel lower and maybe foot strength? In terms of shoes I feel like yours are also amazing volume smearing shoes so I doubt that has a big impact. In terms of heel mobility I also think you're dropping them as low if not lower. And lastly I'm not sure if foot strength plays a role but if it does would be very interested to hear. It is also possible I misunderstood and you can stand on the volume just not get into it dynamically as he does which would make a lot of sense. I am getting into slab now and would be very interested in hearing your thoughts :)))
@richardsonsclimbing
@richardsonsclimbing День назад
Yeah good question! Honestly I think this situation is mostly mental! You’re right about the shoes- they are both great for smearing and if Alex and I switched shoes I think the situation would be the same. He just has absolutely no fear and trusts the volume completely, whereas I’m simply scared that my foot will slip! This allows him to apply a lot of pressure to the volume and get more friction. With enough tries perhaps I could’ve learned to trust the volume too but in this case there was other beta to try ;)
