I posted this in the discord but I'm sharing here too. I want to believe some of these leaks but I also hope some of it isn't true. IMO it seems like it's getting away from the core of what makes Animal Crossing, Animal Crossing - at least in terms of the city landscape and vehicles. I like my cute little town/island vibes personally, though a player-run marketplace is something I've wanted for a while. Pocket Camp kind of has that, but with fish/bugs/fruit and crafting materials. There was evidence in the ACNH datamine for sewing DIYs, so I hope we get those. But my biggest thing? I just want to work at the Roost again.
The large shopping store where you can sell your designs kinda reminds me of Hokko Life where you can craft things and people can download it and put it on their island as well
The only thing I’m hung up on is “selling your designs.” The ability to not just make your own designs, but also download other players’ designs so easily was a huge part of ACNH becoming a design-heavy game. I’d be really upset if they suddenly put that behind a paywall, even if it’s in-game currency and not real money. But again, I’m taking this with a grain of salt, nothing to get upset about right now
For me, it kinda sounds like playing market and more interactions, so I was really excited about that...😅 Of course given that it's only in-game money! But I understand what you mean
i feel like its a good idea, it would give you more motivation to make bells rather than just getting designs for free and might encourage you to design something good to make bells but if that does happen then it will probably use the other currency from bells bc if your design goes famous then you'll prolly have millions of bells and the game would be broken
I’m all for the separate city place like city folk!! And can’t wait for the new multiplayer stuff. Hoping some of this is true lol. It’s all getting me excited!
I love the leak talk. Just being able to talk about something AC related that's new (whether it actually happens or not) is fun. At least we're finally talking about AC again. Please keep the leaking updates coming Pat! ⭐
I agree with you that it definitely sounds believable to be their initial ideas for the next game. I hope the city thing ends up being real, we need more multiplayer options! And honestly, even if none of it comes to fruition, I'm still excited to see what they create
They did introduce a new currency in ACNH! Poki! Personally, I think anybody could guess this information. There's nothing there that I haven't heard suggested by a fan already
It reminds me of Pocket Camp. I worry if they start using real life payment systems like Disney Dreamlight Valley or Pocket Camp 😮😮😮 But if the trade off is amazing items...😅
I feel like when they said “sell your own designs”, it would be only with in-game currency. It would be waaaaay too complicated to include actual money in this
yeah idk im kind of worried,,, animal crossing is literally called “animal forest” in japanese, i just really cant imagine the only option being to create a cityscape. it feels so random, but i guess they could be trying to do something different. time will tell!
I think the city would be cool since we just had deserted island, but definitely need to include some rural area outside the city so it’s not just all city. Driving vehicles would be awesome.
Not a fan of cities, or the emphasis on vehicles. I would absolutely hate being shoehorned into an urban theme with ugly cars/trucks everywhere. Vehicle races? No thank you, I hate Nascar and want nothing to do with anything remotely similar. I very much hope that if this leak is legitimate, that the city is completely separate from my town which I can still keep natural and rustic, and the vehicle thing is purely optional and I can avoid it without missing out on cool items or currency. If not, I may just keep playing New Horizons and skip the next game. It would be hugely disappointing though.
I'd like if they combined ACNH with the previous games and HHP....like you'd have a few islands that were all different environments like in HHP. Other than that, maybe a town/city area to travel to. I'd be great to see Tortimer island come back with the mini games and tropical fruit.
I want them to do something like the different terrain options in pocket camp. Maybe not paying to change the same island, but having different terrain to choose from when you first start, or being able to have multiple islands with different terrain.
I don’t find it as odd that he leaked this information at all, the fact that they’ve probably been working on a new Animal Crossing since probably 2021 and at least since 2022. I’m sure the game is very nearly near final stages of development so this makes sense to me. Remember when the current game was supposed to come out and then they needed more time to polish it and when it did come out, it still wasn’t ready because we were missing so much that they ended up giving us updates. I think we need to think about that. I think at this point they’ve been working on the new game for at least three years and by now there would be some decent leak information. Fingers crossed.
It's exciting to see animal crossing being mentioned again.. but I have to agree with pat I think this stuff was talked about before but it sounds to me like it was something that was discussed before the dlc came out. I'd love to be proved wrong tho
As a Spanish speaker, this update gave me the impression that this may be ai generated because there were a few conjugation errors that I assumed a native speaker wouldn't make. Either they were typing too fast and missed it (definitely possible), or they just put it in chatgpt or something and tried to pass it off as their own without proofreading. Either way, it's starting to lose credibility for me personally 😬
" prior to the start of development " isn't actually a full statement. b'cuz it would lead me to ask " development of wut ? " I'm much more interested in games from two years ago instead of games that might be ready two years from now ; my reaction here is still ^meh^ .
Like I’m aware that it could be all fake but I love watching leak videos because it’s exciting to think about what could be on another note animal crossing space would be freaking Awsome
I already know all the details. The next Animal Crossing will be called "Animal Crossing: Forever" it will take place 45 years after your campaign in the last game. All animals will have lost an eye and one random appendage. Dead leaves will be the new in game money, and you will be forced to start a new game everytime you save
I feel like that this is a Japanese made game...sooo a Japanese person should have more of a scoop than a Spanish person, unless they also work for Nintendo.
The selling designs thing could work like the rack in Able Sisters where you can hang up your own clothes. Also the online city thing sounds like Animal Crossing MMO? Which...could either be really good or really HECTIC
Vehicles in ACNH are a huge Green Flag! They took the development time to animate all vehicle wheels in ACNH for no reason. Development time on a rushed game to animate wheels for objects that may never ever be moved more than maybe just once when you push them into place. They were obviously planning on these being movable more than just when your placing the object down.. but was abandoned or saved for future title.
I think the shopping center is definitely doable and they’ve kind-of laid the groundwork for it with Harv’s island and the empty storefronts in the DLC.
I can see Pixar making a animal Crossing series. I mean they are doing a 2nd Mario movie and yunno other movies are coming so..I could easily see a actual show on a streaming service.
I agree Pat. This sounds like ideas thrown at the wall to figure out where to go from here bit several years ago. And much of this gives me Pocket Camp, HHP vibes, so already done. I definitely dont want cars, racing or big huge city or destroyed city rebuild or such. I want nature, possibility of food, design stuff, make villager friends, and create in a nice setting perhaps a small town somewhere else far away than i live. Maybe visit a town. Or have blathers and timmy/tommy start a spin off development not too big like ACNH and NL but different and improved.
I remember watching every single AC update video you made back when we had the monthly updates and the podcast speculating with Zack, and I love these type of videos just to get me through the AC drought haha
That's all I want honestly. I would be lying if I said anything other than "nothing would make me more happy than being able to ride a train in animal crossing with a whole cutscene and the option to roam the train cars" If I did, it's not me that's a skin walker. Like, any game that has a train ride in it instantly boosts it from whatever score I gave it plus 3 (or more depending on quality of train)
The city idea, could be really cool. I like the idea of an area to hang out with friends. I look forward to seeing what fun videos you create when it comes out! You need to bring back the Switchforce collab!
Any original animal crossing fans out here? I’m talking animal crossing wildworld/city folk? All I want as an original GameCube fan, is the shop being able to be fully upgraded & maybe double the amount of furniture than there was in ANCH. I have a very bad feeling that the next AC game will have tooooooo much due to the amount of newer players that picked up only ANCH and want things intergrated from different cozy games 😅😢
Did I truly predict a city folk remaster/ relaunch ?? 😂😂 they better bring back the NPCs we still haven't seen return yet or at least new villagers...and I hope we can customize our vehicles and visit locations with it l. I think the online area will be like a PLAZA or meet up place where everyone can mingle and meet instead of just visiting islands with codes
in pocket camp there’s three birds (can’t remember their names) that work at a garage to design your camper so i reckon if there was vehicles you would get them from them.. sounds interesting..
I can't imagine Nintendo creating a user to user sales model. They are internally pretty clear that the game is played by kids. That said, I can see an apartment building with villagers each having one apartment.
Hey Nintendo, in the next game, in the Able Sister's store, I want to be ABLE to go into the dressing room and pick say a hat of multiple colors/same style without entering and re-entering the dressing room to get them all. Should be a standard in a game. I detest that if I'm in my home and is interrupted by an uninvited guest. That may have been cute on GameCube, but not now. Residents getting in your path as you terraform. I've had animals sit right in my way when I make ponds, paths, etc. Oy vey, mate!!! The ability to choose how many residents we want. 10 is way too much. Maybe allow the players to choose a minimum of say, 6. But also have the option to add residents to ones liking, assuming terroforming will be in the next game. I have other gripes but I overall am addicted to this freakin' game. Oof!
