Prime Knock Out was part of the Mayhem Attack Squad in IDW 2.0 and had his Legacy design in that comic. It’s pretty apparent that Legacy Knock Out will just be part of the pack but maybe with new colors.
If you don't know JT Prime (our primary leaker) has announced his coming retirement. After 8 years he's grown weary of the hobby and needs a break. He's not done quite yet, but he wanted to give us a full week of leaks. He still hopes to get us more before he punches out, but enjoy this while you can.
It looks to me like Hasbro is trying to shore itself up financially and put out evergreen characters and products it knows buyers want: Cosmos, Tarn, SS86 Megatron, G2 Breakdown, comic-inspired Grimlock in the SS86 mold.
Honestly, I don't care if they have to compromise SS86 Megatron's alt mode. I just want his bot mode to be accurate. He rarely transformed in G1 anyway. The last few Megatron's have had massive tank tread back packs that throw the look of the figure off, for me. They could just give him a mini gun mode Megatron accessory for other figures to hold.
This video had barely been online a few minutes before even MORE leaks happened, telling us what the 2025 Generations line will be about. I'd say here but everyone can check TFW and tomorrow's video will likely be about those.
I managed to find a Galaxy Shuttle for half price in my nearest GAME a while ago. Dunno how i got my Tarn though, weather i bought him myself or my brother bought him for me...
okay, hear me out, 86 megatron, that transforms into...Galvatron. They revive that old concept idea and give you both a galvatron AND a megatron that's doing something new.
I actually just checked How many times Megatron was in Gun form. It's actually 24 times in Season 1 & 2. 11 times (including intro) in Season 1, 13 times in Season 2, but certainly seems they phased it out as 5 of those are the first two episodes and he only a gun 3 times in the last 34 episodes of season 2. (21,25,49)
And in the '86 movie, he turned into his gun mode once, and that was in the attack on the shuttle, where Starscream used his gun mode to shoot down Brawn and Ratchet, while Scavenger offed Prowl and Megatron finished off Ironhide in robot mode.
For the Mayhem Attack Squad, the way I see it The Wreckers got a TFP rep with Bulkhead, so Knockout is here to mirror that. And the Wreckers got a repaint of a different voyager as Springer, and so Bludgeon is filling that slot. And I am glad Windsweeper and Ruckus are finishing up the triggercons. Crankcase will no longer be alone.
I have a theory. I think wheeljack is gonna have his minicon because 1: budgets are spread across the wave, not done per figure. 2: Cosmos is made with fewer steel tools than a normal deluxe, boy was originally gonna be an origin bumblebee retool, before the Dark Wizards at takara figured out how to use the retooling budget to just make a wholeass toy.
I think it would be kind of cool if the Dinobot turned out to be the Transmetal 2 version, since that one had a simpler transformation anyway. And technically they have done Transmetal 2's before with Megatron and Tigerhawk. But if that was the case they probably would have specifically said it was that one, so it probably won't happen.
taking a guess here that Sureshot will be a new mold and the capsule line Ruckus will be a repaint of it instead of Beachcomber. Only reason I can see them doing 2 new dune buggy figures.
I hope Sureshot doesn't turn out to be as bad as Pointblank. After I got the Maketoys version, I was hoping we'd get a mainline release that would be at least a Voyager but he got downgraded to a deluxe with a bad design. Bad move, Hasbro. Then I remember what they did with Crosshairs by just dong a slight remold of Siege Ironhide. Seriously, I miss the days when companies like Fansproject were giving Hasbro a run for their money by making mainline figures that were much better. Maybe they'll show up as Legends scale figures but I think it's tough to pull these guys off with their Targetmasters in that scale. Magic Square and NewAge need to make their figures bigger.
sureshot is for 2025, ruckus is 2024. capsules very rarely do mold pretools (so no mold debuts - cosmos and override were exceptions that started as retools as well) and they're almost always just redeco/retool of /pre-existing/ molds. and judging by the fact that sureshot is one of the figures that was said to be canceled before, it's likely that the mold hasn't even been produced yet to be considered for capsules also they're doing 3 dune buggy figures this year with sandstorm. it doesn't really mean anything, they can use sureshot for a post-legacy figure or even not at all if pointblank is anything to go by. they just happen to be doing the dune buggy characters, there doesn't necessarily need to be any reasoning behind that
@@honteebee okay then reverse that prediction. Shureshot will be the Ruckus repaint. To me the designs for the two are closer to each other than any existing mold. So I still expect this is what we might get.
@@honteebeeNo I did not miss that. The thing is we HAVE seen although rarely a pre-tool or new mold in a capsule line line. I'm very aware that these lines are a way to get a exclusive line to a vender and repaints are the most cost effective way to do that. But it is also not unheard of to rarely see a pre-tool or very heavy retools to the point they do not resemble much of the original mold at all. So it is not without precedent. However it is unlikely. I'm guessing this will be the case with Ruckus as it will either be a pre-tool as no other transformer mold really works for both figures without a lot mental gymnastics involved. But I realize I'm that is a 1/100 chance or less but I'm still thinking it will end up being that rare event this time.
I had the same thought about Megatron, honestly since he mass shifts and is wielded by his subordinates, a transforming gun Megatron would be out of scale anyway, having it as an accessory makes more sense.
Let’s just hope that the tarn figure in wave five gets a remolded chest plate in completely solid plastic. Just to make the slightest improvement on the original.
They could repaint bltizwing into purple megs like they did the Titans Return one in legends. I still regret not getting it. Overcharge has great colors, but I didn’t love the latest blitzwing mold so not sure if I will pick it up.
I have the shattered glass sideswipe with the wheel jack molding and it's pretty sturdy. One knee is a *tad* loose-ish but otherwise they seem to have avoided degradation
They could use a new mold for Bludgeon. The Prime one is close to the bumblebee shockwave and Bludgeon was once a yellow megaton and that would be neat to see.
It's pretty surprising that Hasbro is making a Studio Series 86 Megatron, given it's legally impossible for his alt mode to be screen accurate. Hopefully, they do a more realistic Earth tank mode (and a tank that was around in 1984) and Megatron's robot mode isn't laden with stuff hanging off. And yeah, the gun mode accessory you mentioned is a great idea! I was thinking the same thing too.
Theres already examples in Studio series of characters having the wrong alt mode (such as Scrapmetal being a different vehicle entitrely), so a tank Megatron in SS86 isnt off brand
I couldn't afford Transformers back in the 80s but I was able to buy Barrage. And I remember saying to myself wow... This is even better than the insecticons.
Could the 86 megatron be a screen accurate non-transforming Robot mode with a figure scaled pistol included, maybe swap out pieces to show battle damage?
Whatever they end up doing with Megatron, I feel the gun accesory is a must. You can't recreate the movie scenes with a gun the size of a voyager bot, after all.
you did a video detailing all of the Classics Seeker mold uses. I want to see a follow up video showcasing all the Siege Sideswipe mold uses. this video has shown 1, maybe 2, more uses for said mold
If yellow G2 Wildrideralso makes a retail release will 2025's (Legacy) Commander be G2 Motormaster or can they afford to put him in an exclusive subline?
Considering that we’re getting the Aerialbots in 2025, I think Silverbolt is next year’s mainline commander. I can see Motormaster being a Gen Selects release though. They’ve released GS titans, so a commander wouldn’t be surprising.
Weird. This isn't the most recent leak listing I'd seen prior to watching this. The one I saw had actually included Venom and some others I wasn't familiar with on it.
Studio series megs will probably be a tank but there will be engineering to turn him into a "unofficial" gun mode. They gave sixshot and shockwave thier gun modes unofficially so i can easily see them doing this with megs
Lol watch the new Knockout be a head swap recolor nof Origin Jazz I think you're likely right about the 86 Megatron coming with a 5mm compatible version of the classic gun mode, like the WFCK Core Class did but (hopefully) with some actual paiont to get the color layout right. Tank is most likely, though if you turn the gun mode upside down, fiddle with the legs a bit, and add a set of blades I could see a helicopter like TF Animated Megs, and a folding sword/blades accessory like T30 Springer had might be cool.
I’m just hoping Wind Sheer is a core class next year. I don’t like that they seemingly aren’t pairing him with Armada Wheeljack considering they have the molds to make him
Be nice to get a new Sureshot, I’m biased, had him as my only target master. Trigger bots…really want a Dogfight, but the X29 plane would need too much changing for them to be that awesome.
Been waiting for them to announce this Wheeljack and I’m practically begging them to release it with his Mini-Con since they already did it in the previous version & I wasn’t before but now kinda interested in picking up a Ramjet & Tarn.
Galvatron is the one I have the most thoughts on. I seriously don't think this will be a new mold. At most, it will be a SLIGHT retool of the Kingdom one. Maybe new pointed toes and opening hands to replace the Revenge blasters, and of course, a much bluer purple, hopefully the same shade as GS Galvatron, or even the movie versions of FansToys Sovereign and NewAge Darius. I say that because Kingdom Galvatron, along with Cyclonus and Rodimus, were clearly explicitly meant to go with SS86, and to celebrate the movie's 35th anniversary that spawned SS86 in the first place. Those three were so out of place with the Beasts for Kingdom, and even if Galvatron was in the show, Cyclonus and Rodimus weren't, but why make them too? If this SOMEHOW will be a new mold, well, let's see how much better it'll actually be, but I'm happy with the Kingdom/Legacy mold, but I highly doubt it, since what we got was clearly tailor made to be SS86-compatible.
Funny how he said he was not sure the leaks had stopped, then like all of 2025’s generations stuff was found in listings Also core dinobot and deluxe sureshot we’re in the initial leaks of the wave breakdowns for 2024. Then Seemed to have gotten cut until these leaks showed up.
Honestly, the Bludgeon toys have all been lackluster since G1. I want an articulated shell and an articulated tank. I'm fine with the tank being smaller. Maybe deluxe size? Let the arms and head of the shell be articulated and let the legs be stationary.
I’m holding off on the conehead reissues I’ll wait for a better seeker than invest in the ER seeker mold, I have G2 ramjet as a Christmas gift and love the colours meh on the mold. Galaxy shuttle and tarn refreshes very nice 2 solid figures the shuttle was wonky distribution wise and tarn was popular The chopshop and barricage 2 pack very interest in but now we need a venom/venim but he isn’t a repaint of something so he’s gotta be a new mold idk who to retool maybe kickback but that’s a big stretch, if he’s a new mood that could be a new 2 pack of venom and ransack refresh cause ransack is in that 4 pack so getting him is very annoying so a new 2 pack could make sense. Triggerbots/cons also very interesting figures wonder if we’ll get new chrome guns
It was WalMart who wanted Cosmos and WalMart is one of Hasbro's biggest customers. I'll be curious to see if these figures get the same deco or if there will be differences.
if their going to do tank Megs as 86, I would like that they don't put treads as his backpack. If they want to do a Megs as close to the 86 version as possible, maybe have the treads accordion out from his lower legs. I've been noticing that they have been doing that lately with their designs where alt mode is just the legs folded up so hopefully they utilize that more.
I can almost imagine a Core Dinobot as working almost the same way as his original Deluxe. Wouldn't that be funny. I'm expecting Sureshot to be an Energon Cliffjumper pretool. But regardless, we got Pointblank back in 2022, and no retools have surfaced in the year and a half since he was revealed. If he can get an original mold, I think Sureshot is equally eligible.
I wonder if instead they could make Megatron turn into an artillery piece that looks similar to the gun mode but different enough to avoid legal issues. It would also avoid the treads issue.
You can’t blame Hasbro for the Cosmos population initially. Walmart makes the purchase order of who they want in their capsule cases. They only wanted one per case and that was the result. So it’s not really in Hasbro’s power when Walmart makes the order on the capsule
I have a couple sets of the Fansproject versions of the deluxe Insecticons but if these new ones from Hasbro turn out well, I'd get them. I still think it's highly insulting that Velocitron Cosmos was being found at discount stores when people couldn't even find them at Walmart. What a joke in distribution and an insult to injury to collectors from Hasbro and Walmart.
So we’re getting a new swindle in 2025… that means we’ll get a new bruticus… and if we get a Battle Gaia from this new bruticus, I’ll be a happy boy! Also sky byte, heatwave, wasp, onyx, venom and the fallen will also be definite buys from me. I also think battle Gaia would go well with the haslab deathsaurus and the rumored upcoming pulse exclusive Dinoking recolor of core volcanicus
