I’m glad to see that there are other people out there that appreciate the magic of radio. I couldn’t have expressed it any better. Since childhood I have been fascinated by radio, and at age 43 I’m finally starting to pursue my passion
Me too just started back listening to radio after many years off bought a new radio with more bands something to do during 2nd lockdown Alec from Scotland
Glad to see you back "on the air." I always enjoy your content. Glad to see that you have a little time on your hands to spin the dial! 73 and Happy New Year! Marty
WSBA 910 is in my neck of the woods. It is not in Philadelphia; it is in York, PA, 102 miles west. It has a news talk format, so it's probably not what you heard.
I’m in south jersey, with DX-440 from 1990. I plugged in a pair of old computer stereo speakers to the audio out. I use the volume knob instead of the radios slider. And made the audio more listenable as well. ...I Also use the external antenna with an MLA-30 mounted outside. Your list is much more organized than mine. Glad to know there are others who enjoy the airwaves!
Im starting to DX myself (newbie). I did find an iPhone app called AM Towers USA. Map screen has a popup tab that provides valuable information (distance, power, locality, etc). Plus links to wikipedia & FCC page for that station. Great for logging info.
Very true...its amazing the signals whirling around us. It been a fascination of mine since I was a small boy. I just love listening. I like to Dx but normally I get hung up spending time just listening whatever I come across. Thanks for the video and glad to see you back. 73s Brian
Hi, RD. Speaking of Radio 870, I am located just 10 miles west of New Orleans. I grew up with 870 in my ear. Love your DX-440. Sure wish they still made those analog machines!! Really enjoy your videos. Keep'em comin!! 73's!, Jack WB5LVP
I used to have a Radio Shack DX440. It was a great Sangean radio. It died on me. I wish that they would make it again. It had great reception on sw am broadcast and fm. The ssb feature was a great addition.
Do you use the MW antenna that is sitting next to your radio? It’s been my experience that if the antenna is tuned off frequency from the radio, it makes the tuned frequency weaker.
