Ghattic says sent to the GY by a Memento monster effect. Twin Dragon also pops from hand, too. Regardless this is a 1 of and this is great in case your main deck Combined Creation is banished. Also an extra layer of blocking and can help get cards like Shleep back or even get your banished Mementotlan Fusion back without worrying about getting another in GY for the field spell. They definitely needed ways to recover their pieces from banished, for sure.
Not a surprise Konami loves Memento, since the archetype is basically a celebration of the early days of Yugioh, while also neatly sidestepping the usual problem that nostalgia archetypes have of requiring you to play the old (bad) cards by retraining them all.
Vaalmonica and Centurion could be up for support now. I know people have been clamouring for Nouvelles and Vanquish support too - guess we’ll see soon!
@@Napdoze I think there’s a good chance it’s just memento, but we’ll see. They have this anime like feeling to them where Konami may favor them cause it allows them to revamp old classic vanillas🤔
I've been playing mento since release and this is a super easy 1 of that you definitely play, really happy with it. you're almost always sending it off of creation king. this basically lets you always end turn 1 with both traps and the fusion spell, which is crazy strong
dont get me wrong i love memento to bits but i feel like if konami really wanted to support a valiant smashers archetype they really should have given vaalmonica 1-2 more cards. that deck just still feels incomplete
@@jaketakenobreak I think because they can revamp old vanillas for this archetype its almost like an anime deck to Konami, so I think they will get substantially more cards than the other
That's because it isn't complete. The best way to tell if the archetype is complete is if they can be played purely no matter if they're good or not, and Vaalmonica doesn't have that criteria yet. The ways to set up their intended strategy off of the few cards they were given isn't very consistent and they purely would struggle playing through just one of your opponent's disruption against a lower tiered modern deck. Ever since the designs of the Invoked theme and the first few waves of the Sky Striker theme existed as incredible engines for many decks to use, Konami be using either of them as a blueprint or structural template for certain themes after them; hence Runick being mixed in certain themes, Fiendsmith engine in before new support arrives that would change way they are being used, Toy cards, Flame Swordsman not having enough decent and useful cards to become pure (still TCG Exclusive btw), needing more Nouvelles and Patissciel Pendulums to use some of their support cards, Dual Avatar in their structural template, Nemleria (Dual Avatar's reasoning), Mannadium (same previous reasoning) , Dinomorphia (same previous reasoning), Purrely (Is there a theme here?!), Adventurer engine before their last support wave, etc. Do I need to list more? The more lazy, nonaccountable, and/or slip-ups of these designs they make the more of these versatile, utilizable, and/or generic or semi-generic engines will arise to cause issues with deck-building diversity and make certain core themes more broken and unintended than they ever possibly were. The question I have on my mind is why Konami continues on using that blueprint or structural template for themes to come as well as splitting them up in waves to where they can be played as possible problematic engines besides monetary value? Their mindset of greed and authority to control the game's design with their finger tips are ruining what makes the game interesting, unique, and fun. They need to change that strategy permanently. Make themes purely playable out of the gate within the set they debut in and balance them through conditional means, hefty requirements, and/or heavier restrictions cause their way of card designing isn't helping them balancing the game overall.
A 4th wave is a welcome surprise. It's also a solid card almost certainly played at 1. The flexibility of adding any from GY or banish is great. Memento would have to send a 2nd Fusion to GY after banishing the 1st, but I don't think that's necessary now as this can recover it instead. Recovering a banished Combined Creation or other card often ran at 1 copy is nice too, as it could be disruptive to their endlessly recycling advantage loop. Also, one self-destruct can result in two bodies on board instead of the usual one, resulting in much stronger Link plays, all while threatening an OTK through piercing.
This is a BIG Mill target for Goblin. This plus Fusion spell means if you have a Memento on field the Fusion can pop it to search a spell/trap, activates this card, summon it, return Fusion to hand. Fuse with fusion by either sending to GY or recycling because you popped a card. Then continue on. If you use the Tatsu to pop Trihorn you can do the normal combo PLUS this guy as a Mill and that grants you a triple pop(One being your own due to Trihorn).
I think this card could be what they need because when faced with interaction Memento doesn't make enough to end boards and when your faced with certain monsters this really helps. Having the add back and extra special summon is huge for the deck to.
A very welcome surprise. Hopefully they keep making more and i believe they still dont have a lvl 6 yet. There was an effect that u can get a lvl 6 back from gy, but no lvl 6 as of yet
Not sure how big of an effect the direct attacks will be on duels, but the summon ability is pretty solid. You can bring this... er... thing out to block an attack after a board wipe or help push through after the bigger Memento monsters attack. Also, it helps get into Extra Deck plays.
Great 1 of. Now it’s more feasible to play only one combined creation since if it is banished you can get it back with this card. Other cards that are banished this helps recur. Also the gy eff to special is great to extend and do some link plays which can come up. Love the art
I really like these cards i play it on master duel and have the deck irl. I hope they keep making support for this archetype hopefully synchro monsters and more quick play spells
Wait i just realised, in certain Memento build some players especially in OCG utilized Horned Dragon as a soft brick since its basically just extenders that you can search with Twin Dragon. But with this card, you have the alternative to search something else with Twin Dragon and dump this card with Creation King. Throughout your combo you will pop Creation King using Fusion from grave and trigger Akihiron to SS from GY. Giving you more bodies for you to link climbing AND also recycle your Fusion from banishment. In my opinion this card can replace Horned Dragon in those types of build
While it is a bit bricky, This card is still good. it’s special summon effect is a trigger effect so it can trigger on both turns getting back more resources that you previously couldn’t
@@JustNutzProd yes! The decks grind game just became quite good! The deck already has a pretty decent grind game but now every time you can destroy something you can get back a body and any memento from banished and graveyard. Now the deck just needs something to protect combined creation… or something to make their end boards less susceptible to board breakers
I hope Vanquish Soul gets some light, water and wind attributes to fill the roster. I also wish for Centur - Ion to have support that allows them to play more with other Synchros like P.U.N.K or Gold Pride.
Ok. I love memento. One of the only things I’ve genuinely liked in Yugioh the past year, but come on vanquish soul and the other decks from that pack only got 2 cards, this and I’m assuming Vaalmonica and centuirion got SIX cards.
Its some turn 2 support which was something this archetype is lacking and an extender that adds back and hadn't needed more bc gattic does the same but i can see its usage potential
Oh this is for sure a 1 of. Extra name in the grave for Combined Creation. Goblin and Combined Conqueror has a new target to send, depending on the situation. I think the card is really good
This would be so much better if it was a link monster ( link off a monster so you can summon horse ) and help the deck deal with spell/trap or even give the Creation protection effect if used as fusion material / shuffle back, OTK and recovery isn’t a top priority for the deck however long may they continue to give memento support it’s such a heartwarming deck
what happens if you gain the effect of attack directly with combined creation would you be able to attack directly and then attack the rest of the opponent's monsters?
i am choosing to believe that vaalmonica is getting support because of this. if im honest i dont think they need it, the deck is perfectly fine as is imo (but especially with the fiendsmith cards coming) but i will take a boost
No more memento monsters to the main deck, those are now complete, there are space to three monsters more in extra deck and more spells and traps, maybe
You're getting rewarded for sticking by the deck nobody believed in from the jump. Memento gave me problems back when the first wave appeared, and it was a troublesome deck even before the new support came in.
They need 6+ copies fusion from deck card, and 6+ copies of a card that directly summons combined creation or immediately puts 5+ mementos in grave. I wanna like the archetype because of the artwork/idea; but its way too clunky, and relies too much on comboing
@@diegosmc9759Oh yeah shoot I forgot about Cranium Burst 😂 It’s kinda booty cheeks though? A negate that can negate cards activated in the hand or GY would be nice…
