Loved this one like it was yesterday. My grandad was watching with me but he was reading his paper like he always did but chucked it down when Legs & Co came on. When we’d watch Benny Hill, my Nan would leave the room 😂

How the hell did he keep a straight face when he said "And this is the first viewing of the two knockers side by side" ?? Kudos to his professionalism 🤣🤣

So sorry to hear that Patti Hammond has passed away. I suppose I should be glad to still be here; ... a bit older than most of them. It came as a huge shock when lovely Ruth (Pearson) died. None of us will last forever. To leave such lovely memories to be enjoyed on RU-vid is fantastic.

The Legs and Co dancer Lu Lu's face drops right at the end when he says the bit about moving from birds on legs, to birds on stamps. She didn't look pleased.

This was the good wholesome entertainment that we grew up on - all family-oriented and educational - none of your drag queen storytime back then!

apart from the angel that is helen skelton, i really think that blue peter has gone down hill in the number of pretty young ladies on the show in recent years, and although i was a bit young at the time to probably remember this episode, it was at least when i was watching children`s television, and as a child no doubt i would just watch this with my innocent eyes, and think nothing of the content, this episode is certainly one way to get dads watching with there sons, and just how many not so young boys now had to turn to there fathers while watching this and say, dad the ladies on blue peter are giving me funny feelings, son i think you may have just started puberty, to be young again, when even the ladies underwear section in the kays catalogue became your special friend.

Oh my god this is terrible , they rushed the dancers out before they had time to put on their skirts! Oh God, well that is live TV for you. You would never see anything so scandalous today. Poor girls they were very professional considering they were half naked, missing their skirts.

I wonder whether all the Blue Peter exposure had the longer term effect of making Mike deeply uncool in the UK? The whole thing is so naff and cringey, even ignoring the bizarre 1970s smuttyness and double-entendres. He should have run away from it, not towards it.

I remember seeing 'The Making of the theme tune', but didn't realise that they milked it so much afterwards. Pity about the adult (infantile) humour though, no place on a kids show.
