As much as I want to complain about the lack of substantial content outside of the sub-20 page interview, I was able to make a second video, still over half an hour long, about the book without looking at a single piece of art. I think that indicates the book's going to have staying power, and will probably have another explosion of discussion once a translation is finished. At least it better have, I've got two more videos on this to make!

I remember in an older video you talked about the concept of bringing in Xenosaga to the Xenoblade universe as part of Xenoblade 3. It's pretty cathartic to see something like it unfolding now with the connections hinted at in Future Redeemed. I genuinely hope Bandai Namco is willing to collaborate with Monolith Soft and Nintendo for this to become a reality. It'd be a massive pay off to something that was started over 20 years ago.

Just imagine the ramifications!!! I love xenogears (hence totally loved XBC3) but now thinking about getting Xenosaga all connected to this new whole BLADE universe narrative, it just blows me away! thanks for another great video Luxin!

@Zerorenren4761 Месяц назад
I also wish that Bandai accepts this sort of collab as long they also make Xenosaga more acessible before, they should at very least Remaster the 3 games, i don't know if they would want to give Xenosaga the XC DE treatment considering how they're 3 games and Remakes takes more time than just remastering these games. With that said, i don't think Xenosaga will connect in a way direct as most of the fandom think, i think it will be way more subtle, or they might even use Saga characters on Blade as an alternative form of the know ones(think of JoJo Part 7-9 universe where you have alternative versions of the Part 1-6 characters, but with Xenosaga).

Interesting having it laid out like this. Though this does seemingly imply that Alvis as he was in Xenoblade IS nonbinary/gender fluid. At least that's how I took that meaning since Alvis is the original with both halves still merged.

Something to note, during the ending scene of xbc3: fr, shulk calls A, Alvis, aka, the being ontos was before both A and Alpha, implying that they are one being again.
@captianblitz

Or it’s acknowledging that A is all the parts of Alvis that Shulk cared about (the not evil part)
@YasEmisDaBus
@YasEmisDaBus Месяц назад
Or Shulk saw A, being Alvis’ consciousness, as the same, he just didn’t see the need to call A “Alvis” until that point.
@Tharja-iBW
@Tharja-iBW Месяц назад
Also yes, that is literally what Rex described in that cutscene. When Shulk asks A "Why do you look like that" referring to the fact that A looks feminine rather than masculine, Rex chimes in and says "Ontos (the original being) was somewhere inbetween male and female", when Ghondor split the two he split the masculine and female aspects in two forming Alpha and A. He wasn't talking about A specifically when Rex said "Ontos" he was talking about Ontos as the full being prior to being split. So A is specifically female and Alpha is specifically male going into the anima and animus stuff again. Ontos got information from both Logos (logic) and Pnuema (emotion) so when Ghondor hit Alpha with his attack it split them into the Logic and emotion, however A kept all the memories which allowed her to operate on her own developed Logic alongside emotion while Alpha was merely the logic left over which is why A didn't go all ape shit with emotion like a certain Xenosaga boss, she had context and memory to form her own logic. You can see this take action in the game such as A letting Glimmer run away to learn for herself where she belongs, that was A operating on both her own emotion and logic, its also why even though A is still Alvis from Xenoblade 1, her over fixiation on emotion can sometimes make her a bit more aggressive like how we see she gets frustrated with Matthew throughout the game, unlike Alvis from Xeno 1 who always stays cool and collected. However back to the Rex cutscene, the problem is people really misinterpreted that cutscene into him saying "she's non-binary/genderfluid" when in reality all he was doing was explaining why she looks female.

Something I recently realized - at the end of Xenoblade 3, Noah is metaphorically (possibly LITERALLY) the avatar of a United Trinity Processor. N wields Logos’s power, Noah wields Penuma, and Lucky Seven has multiple things that associate it with Ontos. Gameplay wise, Lucky Seven & Grant Vision are the only talent Artes with their own, dedicated, Timers. Furthermore, the only things that are shown cutting Flame Clocks, besides Lucky Seven, are the Blades wielded by Shulk & Rex. Finally, the art book revealed that Lucky Seven has a special connection to Fiora, who in turn wielded Ontos’s Monado, in the past. Ontos has a thing for Split/Duel Wield swords; like how A & Alpha each wielded one while fighting the other!

My main thing is, if Xenosaga takes place after the worlds re fuse at the end of 3, why was Dimitry Yuriev mentioned on the radio in Klaus’s era, which was way before Bionis/Alrest? I personally think it is probably something like Klaus era/Xenosaga - Bionis/Alrest - Aionios- Earth returns and Kos mos returns and was floating in space for a lot longer than we think.
@Zerorenren4761
@Zerorenren4761 Месяц назад
That's probably It, then Xenosaga 3 and XC3's ending happen at the same time(kind of like 1 and 2 ending). Or maybe that Dmitri Yuriev isn't the same guy as the one in Xenosaga, instead it's a new Dmitri Yuriev character, and XC4-onwards will use Saga elements and characters but in a new way (although not the same).

@CycloneFox
@CycloneFox Месяц назад
Oh that’s easy to explain. Originally Dmitri was introduced as Jr’s genetic dad who is somehow able to take over the body of Jr’s “brother” after his apparent death. However in Pied Piper it gets revealed that Dmitri is a body hopper who actually lived for at least hundreds of years. In Xenosaga Episode III another character who knows Dmitri well, Sellers talks about that he was the first Salvatore, or designer child, who was used in experiments with the Zohar as a U.M.N. “space pilot”. He was the only one who survived and gained his body hopping ability when he got into contact with U-Do, which is very reminiscent of Grahf from Xenogears. Sellers mentions that this actually happened during the early days of the U.M.N. So it is very likely that it not only happened several hundreds of years ago, but actually thousands of years ago during the Lost Jerusalem era, aka, Klaus’ world. In Xenoblade 2 we learn that Klaus’ experiment happened during an attack by a group named ‘Salvatores’, very similar to the group that Dmitri Yuriev created. And now finally in XB3FR we learned that Dmitri Yuriev was already an influential person during the end of the Lost Jerusalem samira, or Klaus’ world, who was fighting for human rights. (probably of genetically changed humans)

Was there some kind of consensus about Ontos/Alpha/A that i completely missed out on this while time? I had always figured that Ontos was simultaneously fully male and fully female (possibly more God references with Jesus being fully God and fully man aka the Hypostatic Union), the male interacting with logos and the female interacting with pneuma, then when he was split by Ghondor, the male part split into alpha, him having a much more cold, logical, calculating personality derived from interaction with logos (logic), while A was the female part, her a more emotional, compassionate personality derived from interaction with pneuma ("breath"/spirit)

People have twisted the Alvis/A gender swapping stuff to push this character as a “nonbinary icon” or something because they need their gender politics affirmed in everything, even when creators have no interest in doing so. Ontos is the “in-between” in terms of the 3 cores sure, but not in a way that aligns with terminally online western gender ideology. Personally I love listening to him twist himself into pretzels explaining how A is still a they/them and not just “the female one.” tldr: your interpretation is probably more accurate to what they were actually going for

Honestly the whole thing about information being absent in xenoblade 3’s art book when the information is clearly there is also something that applies to the wiki as well. For example, Glimmer and Mio are clearly Rex’s children with Pyra and Nia respectively, but the wiki has edited out several times that they’re both his kids for some reason. As well as the fact that in Glimmer’s page, she is said to be “hinted” to be raised by Rex as opposed to Nikol’s page where he’s outright stated to be Shulk’s son. So yeah, even the wiki has that problem. Even with Panacea as well, as her name is clearly a reference to Sharla, she looks like Sharla, and her spear even resembles Reyn’s gun lance but they don’t even say in her page that she’s even implied to be Sharla or Reyn’s daughter. But when Linka, she’s said to be the daughter of Zeke and Pandoria in both her and their pages. Honestly I could say other examples like how Lucky Seven visually looks like the monado or how the “of the end” aspect of the name of the sword of the end further implies and hammers home the idea that Pneuma is within Noah’s sword as well, but as is, it’s a problem the wiki has as well

Malos is adressed as the "Architect's word incarnate" in Torna the Golden country. The Architect obviusly being God in Xc2's context. The gospel of John starts like this: "In the beginning was the Word (Logos), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [...] And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us" The connection between Malos and Jesus is very explicit and it's going to be very interesting to see how things will evolve if Malos gets his Apocalypse arch.

I thought it was clear that Alvis was supposed to represent the Monad. A perfect being that embodies all aspects of humanity in balance. When they split into two imperfect aspects, they skewed one way or the other. A is the feminine aspect motivated by Alvis' emotions and compassion and Alpha is the masculine aspect motivated by cold logic. So, in short, Alvis is they, Alpha is he, and A is she. Though, frankly, I dont think Alvis themselves would care much how they were defined by such terms.

Yeah the line chaos gives about earth being the "land of origin" and the key to surviving the universe's collapse makes so much sense its kinda crazy. I mean you dont even need to use the zohar to travel to a new universe, origin is literally a machine designed to recreate a universe after its been annihilated. What's crazy is this means that chaos was fully aware what was going on in the other pocket universes. Personally i still think that chaos actually had a hand in creating the trinity processor and placed his influence/likeness into ontos, i mean if humanity was messing around with the zohar at the time he'd probably want to keep tabs on it. And thinking more on it, if he did put a piece of himself into ontos that would explain why he knew what was happening in the other universes, cus ontos was watching it the entire time So its pretty locked in now that the saga universe was happening at the same time as the blade universes and all 3 linked back together in future redeemed. But that still leaves xenoblade X, i still cant quite figure out how that one fits in. I'm very much in the theory that mira is infact a 2nd aionios, that the universe did infact collapse as predicted and they used origin a 2nd time to create a patchwork planet of different worlds (seriously look at concept art of mira), and would explain how lao returned at the end. The main problem is trying to figure out who these ghosts are in this story, where did the aliens come from (since saga makes a point that there arnt any). And then, why does this all start on earth in the confirmed year 2054 AD despite it clearly needing to be after future redeemed to make any sense. If we can just figure out those 3 points, we can piece together the whole story. Also i guess the question on can we fit xenogears in there somewhere, to make the complete xeno-story Ohh, here's a thought that just came to mind. We're all set on that was indeed kosmos falling to earth after future redeemed, and that she will get repaired. Given the heavy implications that mira is a 2nd use of origin we can infer it must be after future redeemed too (date issue aside). It always was interesting that elma's true form looks ALOT like kosmos but given this sequence of events, is it actually possible elma genuinely is kosmos rebuilt with a new personality?

All these people that look like each other can’t just be a hardware or art direction limitation. IIRC Kos-mos was intended to appear in all the Saga games even if she wasn’t a main character anymore, perhaps all these visual allusions are their implementation of that concept.

Two thoughts. a more symbolic means of fixing Kos-mos might not just having shulk and Rex fix her.. but also the blades Kos-Mos and Tel-os involved in the process as well, possibly in somesort of willing sacrifice/merger with them (or just the blade Kos-mos). they should be around somewhere It would also result in a Kos-mos that is of both series. Second: Time Effery is very possible in this series. I can easily see the Trinity processor and the universe fail-safe being one and the same on some level, and the male and female halves took different non-linear paths through time to get there..

Takahashi is alluding to Xenosaga with almost everything in the artbook interview. He calls Noah a Ubersmench which is very important as a concept in Nietzsche. Guess where Xenosaga’s titles come from? Nietzsche, lol. Then the thing with the radio which is just called a “certain something” we all know it is Vector at this point and they blur it out in the artbook. We already know that Vector is in future redeemed and will likely have something to do with Xenoblade 4 or a Xenosaga remaster. Things started lining up slowly for Xenosaga in the last year. We got future redeemed, a tales of rays collab for KOS-MOS as a playable character with Velvet and Kanono + Laphicet getting T-ELOS, chaos and M.O.M.O outfits. Lastly, we got the Xenosaga piano collection coming which is conveniently called across the Kosmos and it’s officially licensed by Bandai Namco… who were also in the special thanks credits for future redeemed, not to mention Xenosaga is in Xenoblade 3’s intellectual properties. At this point, the land of Origin thing is no coincidence and definitely real. Takahashi doesn’t bring back stuff and then refuse to elaborate on it. He even said Origin is still a secret and didn’t explain it much unless it was vague terms in the artbook interview. Origin may definitely return. While I don’t think full blown Xenosaga characters will be appearing in 4, I do believe that Xenosaga will be heavily used and we won’t see the Xenosaga characters aside from KOS-MOS for a couple of years.

To add to the whole "how are they gonna bring back Malos" thing. I think once they reconstruct Malos' core that his new driver should be Noah. Noah already has a connection to Malos since N used the lucky 7 Malos was in, and it'd just be very neat to have all 3 protagonists from the trilogy be bonded to one member of the trinity processor. Rex already has Pneuma, Shulk has Ontos, Noah can have Logos.

Here’s a question. We know that the events of Aionios “unhappen” like a dream after the destruction of Aionios, and things like Rex and Shulk’s injuries won’t be present outside of Aionios, so will the Alpha part of Ontos return or is that different given its part of the Trinity Processor? i don't remember where i say this but here its again "i believe that Ontos/Alvis/a has power over Time, Logos/Malos has the power over Matter, and Pneuma/Pyra/Mythra Have power over Space." how i came to that is Ontos/Alvis/a can see in to past, present, and future. Logos/Malos can deconstructed/obliterate Matter, he may also be able to reconstructed Matter. Pneuma can warp space to make something move Faster, and open hole in space between two place to fire a shot off into a building. I believe Logos core is in a gas like state and i believe Ontos is now in two parts, one part is in past and the other part is present.

[mild saga spoilers] I always wondered what saga4 would be like. i thought it be interesting if saga descendants came back to lost Jerusalem and ran into a testament guarding the newly relocated zohar, and turns out to be jesus. and you find out that jesus (who was just a normal man) was jealous of chaos' powers, and made a deal with wilhelm who was a roman emperor at that time, and stages his own death in the crucifixion to become a testament and gain powers and dominion over earth and its people. this would make sense for the roman empire to absorb Christianity (that later becomes ormus) and wilhelm leaves jesus to guard plank scale earth (or at least the space around it) when the events of saga happened. and saga 4 begins with chaos having to deal with his past and gives more backstory to the whole "ancient times/relics of god/mary" thing before figuring out how to save the universe.

Speaking of Dr. Who, the reason Rex and Shulk's age isn't known might be because of timey wimey stuff. It was implied that the cycles have been going on maybe even tens of thousands of times/years, but it was also implied that time doesn't progress at all, so it could be that the two protags were stuck in the time bubble in their 40's and lived/fought for thousands of years without aging a day. Might also explain why they were so hands-off and harsh with their implied *children* if those children were the 583rd identical clone and they've been thoroughly desensitized to it.

That was my original interpretation, but apparently that's not the case. Shulk and Rex transferring their lifespans onto Nikol and Glimmer implies they would have lived for a relatively normal amount of time from the point that they entered Aionios, which was, maybe, 15 or so years before the events of FC. Nothing stopping you from making that your headcanon, though. (Certainly won't stop me.) It's easy enough to handwave any other issues with everyone who isn't either part of the cycle or Aionios-born being effectively immortal unless killed, like the Nopon are. It also has the bonus effect of making Melia not an egregious exception to the rule for no clearly defined reason.

The fact KOS-MOS even had knowledge of the world tree is pretty telling and we could also say she recognizes traits of Shion in Astelle. It’s very possible Shion was her driver (in the same artbook, it is mentioned that her driver died climbing the world tree)With FR’s events and the radio, she’s without a doubt canon now. But the whole thing about Shion and Allen making her in the Xc2 Artbook makes me question the validity of KOS-MOS. ASTELLE, ON THE OTHER HAND, is mentioned in the City (Astelle Harbor), which was founded by Linka, Zeke's daughter, Astelle's cousin (twice removed). NOW THIS DOES NOT MEAN that the conversation between KOS-MOS, Shulk, Elma, and Rex does not point to what's to come in the near future of the series, but this does not mean that Shulk, Elma, KOS-MOS, and Rex have all met together and talked with each other. Astelle's existence has been confirmed outside of fanservice DLC and KOS-MOS Blade Quest, but KOS-MOS might either be a Blade in Alrest OR a meteorite falling to Earth/Lost Jerusalem/the combined worlds of Xc1 and 2 at the end of Xc3 is VERY difficult to determine if KOS-MOS ReFrain is completely real

Alpha is specifically classified as a fogbeast when fought at the end of the game, and since the artbook states that fogbeasts are projections intruding from other realities and a major plot point is that Alpha needs an avatar in order to work in Aionios, it is entirely possible that when Alpha was defeated, they weren't slain, just forcibly and permanently disconnected from Aionios, and we may have to retreive Alpha in a future game - and this isn't nessesarily contradictory with your theory about A's future, as that could be how they jury rig things to open the way to get to where Alpha is, since if I am right about Alpha still being alive, they would be located either outside of any reality or in another currently unknown pocket universe.

The city people in xc3 are born after generations upon generations, so the different racial features like the gormotti ears have disappeared over time. Na'el was born not many generations after the first city creation, so the there are still features from different races, like core crystals and so on. The city npcs from FR all look like "basic" humans probably just because they reused xc3's assets instead of making new npcs models.

They didnt want to waste time in making new models with different features just for this reason and i know it sucks, i love worldbuilding too, but that's just how it is. The game isnt perfect. Rex saying that core crystal are priority traits doesnt mean that it's always the case: ghondor doesnt have it despite mio being the mother. Just like in real life, a granparent's trait can skip a generation, so that's what happened with na'el. There's nothing special. Over time all the traits will disappear gradually, resulting in the city people in xc3 being all normal humans. We've already seen in xc1 that homs/human dna tend to take prevalence over other racial features given time. The soldiers still have the diffent physical traits despite z's rules, which are only about thier lifespans, so there's no reason why a child of two soldiers cant inherit a trait. Otherwise, just like they had a line about core crystals being ereditary, they would have said something.

@@Unoj151 The generic asset excuse is bullshit as they have generic kevese and agnians and it isn't hard to put a machina or gormotti head on a city resident's body. Linka has a core crystal, Glimmer has a core crystal, Mio has a core crystal and not only do they have one but they match the shape and color of their mother's. Rex said this as the master driver wed to 3 blades, 2 of which make up a portion of trinity processor that manages these things and the last being the queen of Agnes somehow, if he said these crystal are a dominant trait, i don't think he's having a laugh man. The crystal at the very least should be a stubbornly persisting trait and with the amount of Agnians with one, core crystals should be on full display in the city. But their isn't a single other person with a core crystal that was born of aionios but Nael. Feel like i'm arguing about why the infernal guldo wasn't galadriel due to reused assets but in reverse. The devs are aware of their own lore and aren't that lazy to not put effort where needed. Excluding racial traits among city born is too noticeable to not be deliberate.
@Unoj151
@Unoj151 Месяц назад
@@jive238 I dont know what to tell you then, belive what you want. By your logic na'el is special without motive or an explaination and that's more stupid than reusing assets, even by xc3 standards. What Rex says about the crystals being a dominant trait is also tecnically wrong. A dominant trait is most likely to appear in a newborn, and over time in the new generations the chances of appearing increase, but that isnt the case with the core crystals, since after 1000 years nobody in the city have them. Same with any other race trait. Rex is saying that because in the first generation of human-blade children the core were prominent (as seen with linka, glimmer and mio) but he cant know what will happen in the next generations. Homs dna tend to overwrite the other races' traits as seen in xc1 with the highentia. In fact in the second generation of Human-blade children the core isnt as dominant, just look at ghondor. So the information is just from Rex's experience. Z's rules only changed the life spans of a race, since blades have still their innate strenght superior to a human, and lanz have sturdier skin like a normal machina. Thus reproduction would still work the same, and in na'el case the Crystal trait skipped a generation, just like a child can have the eyes of a grandparent while the parent doesnt. It's as simple as that. It's clearly just a problem of reusing assets, the devs arent this perfect beings who can do nothing wrong. Xc3 especially isnt a perfect game, in both the tecnical and lore department, so i honestly dont understand the problem. We see in ch7 that there are still colonies that arent free from the clocks, and yet they arent on the map, there are also portions of aionios skipped like the one between the keves castle region and swordmarch. So please dont act like they didnt cut corners in some places for a reason or another.

@aion425
@aion425 Месяц назад
I still don't get how people still can't understand Ontos/Ousia in terms of sex, gender and concept. Ousia is a computer, we all know that. Prior to XB3 Ousia used Alvis as its way to communicate to the world, an avatar, who obviously looks like a male or man. He also kept being referred to as one. XB3 comes around and a female or womanlike breaks out from Alvis called A. Shulk meeting this new version of Alvis is a bit confused over the way she looks, and Rex pitches in that Ousia was the core conceptually in between Logos and Pneuma, the male and female part or logic and reason of the trinity processor. Which in turn heavily implies that as said in the video, Ousia can change its appearance between a male and female avatar (for now). Could very well be that it can communicate as an animal in the future if the trinity processor ever comes around again. What I'm trying to say is that A and Alvis, despite being avatars of Ousia seems to be their own entities with their own personality and quirks. A theory I have is that Ousia as a being actually appears in a technical sense before everyone as Alvis (or Alpha in XB3) and during Alvis's defeat, as A. The core crystal Alvis wear glows a lot during the DLC UNTIL his imminent defeat with Ouroboros activating, then A's core starts shining the same way as crazy and during the whited out scenery with Alvis's last pleas his core crystal's light has faded. So I think that Ousia was present throughout XB3 personally. It presented itself to Shulk, so they could attach the core to Origin, giving Ousia access to the system. It presented itself to Na'el to start pushing the plan after it's "defeat" against Shulk, Rex and Z. It presented Klaus's world to Matthew and the others to show them how amazing it was, but how hubris ruined a civilization that barely scratched the surface of its potential. It presented itself with the two other trinity processor to activate Ouroboros. It is a computer with extremely good capability of predicting the future almost to a fault. Ousia knew the collision would happen. Ousia knew Origin and whatever happens in there would play out. But Ousia wanted to test humanity one more time to see if they can face this uncertain future even if it can lead down the same path as Klaus's. Which is why Alvis, as himself and not as Ousia, smiles towards the end. Ousia is now in A and will take Alvis's spot as an administrative entity of Origin, and Shulk even calls her "Alvis", which to me seems whatever entity was in Alvis has now moved to A. She also claims, with the core crystal shining, she can see the future clear as day. Just like how Alvis said he could see the future. Also, don't compare Ontos to the doctor. I'm still a bit salty, not because of Whittaker, but how incompetent the writers are. She could have easily been one of the best doctors if the writers didn't mess around with the lore so much, which has been a downward spiral since 11. In the end, Xenoblade is a game with endless potential. It has a central world, universe and a creator with a lot of imagination. It sucks that Takahashi is getting a bit on the old side, but I am happy Xenogears, Xenosaga and Xenoblade exists.

@@4wheal I think after the battle against Alvis, A has become Alvis since it's the first time she starts acting as her predecessor, which goes a bit hand in hand with Shulk calling her "Alvis" and her core crystal shining (indicating Ousia transferred over to her). Both of them taps into the same entity, Ousia, so there is no way they don't have a link if you ask me. As once again Shulk said "You actually did see it coming, didn't you?". let's differentiate between sex and gender, as they are two different concepts. Your sex is defined by the physical attributes you are born with, determining whether you are male or female, while your gender is how you consciously categorize yourself in society, whether as a man, woman and so on. The art book refers to A as 女性, meaning female. We could easily assume from A's appearance that they are indeed a female, but that has no bearing on their gender. With Rex's explanation, and the way the characters treat A in the game, we can conclude that A's gender is non-binary, while physically being female.

no, the reason why alpha and A are male and female and immoral and moral respectively is because they're following the xenogears/saga themes for the trinity, the kadomony trinity theming. the female, pnuema, is known as anima and is the morally good part. the male, logos, is known as animus, the immoral chaotic part, and then the one above them, the neutral, ontos, is known as persona, which is the one that has anima and animus debate on it then persona gets the commands and sends them to the conduit/zohar. the way the trinity processors work, any morally good part is a female anima or pneuma and any chaotic immoral one is a male animus or logos. so when ontos/persona split and the good part that made up alvis became A, alvis became another female anima, another pneuma basically. and alpha on the other hand became a chaotic male animus without emotions for the most part acting only like a computer. this is also why when pyra and rex had their kid glimmer, she was female, its most likely any morally good kid the trinity has will be female and an anima, like glimmer.

Luxin had a nice and safe conclusion to A being referred to as a woman in the art book. But I think most other people don't realize that pronouns, gender (though if someone wants to be semantic, I do mean specifically gender identity, but I'm going to shorten it from hereon), and sex are all distinct concepts. A being referred to as a woman does not automatically retcon the fact that A does not use pronouns at all. A doesn't need to identify as nonbinary to adopt subversive pronouns. See the various cisgender/transgender people who accept they/them or nonbinary people who accept he/him or she/her. Why do you think people specify them in the first place? People are playing 5D chess attempting to justify calling A a 'she' when the game keeps it pretty simple, as it never refers to A as such. A is not nonbinary in the way Juniper is, A is a woman, but A is also not a 'her.' Sex: Monado Gender: Woman Pronouns: n/A A is an exhausting topic, I don't want to talk about A anymore.

@@kevinr.9733 I somehow didn't even consider that it could be read like that despite how obvious it is, especially given the context lol

Another interpretation of the A gender situation (hah, agender) is that Ontos is some flavor of genderfluid, and different incarnations are simply a man or a woman. Which was my interpretation of the confusing way the game data refers to A as female despite everything else pointing otherwise- Ontos is between male and female, but A is a woman, and the neutral way A is referred to is acknowledging that *they* are nonbinary, even if this incarnation is a woman. Like saying “they are genderfluid, but are [presenting as] a woman right now”. That said, it does feel like if that’s the intent then they would have gone about it differently. But it’s an idea, and A being the feminine half of Ontos doesn’t quite feel right to me either (feels kinda arbitrary to me, and there isn’t much evidence in support of it beyond the presentations of A and Alpha, without dipping into ‘not wanting to kill everyone is stereotypically feminine’)

"Important supplemental material"? It's _supplemental._ That word by definition means it's not important.
