Enjoying your new videos as much as quilt roadies! Thank you for taking me with you on all your shopping trips to quilt stores, etc. We've recently moved to Idaho from California and are staying with relatives till we can find a place. However, I'm going through withdrawals as I don't have my sewing room, lol. Till we meet again! Robin Kent
Congratulations to the new grandparents, granddog, and baby Silas! Hope the parents are doing well. Love that quilt, would love to see you quilting with your HQS16! I assume you will ditch quilt the seams, then do some FMQ? Hugs to you & G, Diane
you are exactly right...I was going to free motion the entire thing but since the backing is minki and really stretchy I decided to grid quilt it and then free motion all the animal blocks :)
Great video....thanks for sharing....I labels...it is always the last thing to put on and it is just a pain....I make up 20 at a time so I have them....take care and be safe
I just want to tell you i saw the large wooden spool with the chicken on top and loved it.....I was at ACMOORE and they had the large spools.....I bought 5 of them so I'm going to make them and give 4 to friends and one for me
I have a scathingly brilliant idea for your post cards...Mail one to yourself. That way they get postmarked and you get squishy mail and get to keep it too!
Great video as always. Just love your taste in quilts-the black, white and gray quilt is just adorable and the bicycle quilt is perfect. Thank you so much for sharing your projects with us and congratulations on the arrival of Silas!
Anna, I have been a fan of your channel for quite a while now. I too had to order the bicycle pattern and just received it today. :) Thanks for sharing all of your knowledge. I look forward to each of your new posts. Congratulations to you and G on the birth of your grandson!
Thanks for sharing this layering technique Anna! It doesn’t differ much from how I do it. Always seems like I am doing aerobics! It’s quite physical! I love that you used a premodern minkey blanket for the back! I sometimes use a quality cotton sheet for mine. They have stood the test of time in use and the wash. I haven’t seen anyone else do this! I use spray bast, but will definitely look for and try the double sided fusible battling! Your videos are so informative and inspiring! I learn so much!
Wow....I never thought to use a cotton sheet...the things we learn if paying attention! I unfortunately can't use spray baste because of my asthma...but the fusible is working for me!
Just found your videos and love them. Thank you for telling us about how to buy the bicycle pattern. I have seen it often and tried to sketch it as it did not occur to me it was a pattern! Duh. I went to Esty and bought it plus a second pattern I couldn't't live without! You are the best. Thank you.
Hi Annna So pleased at the safe arrival of Silas ....love the name ,as I said before perfect for a precious little one who only sees in black and white at first ..as all babies do ! Love the fact that Enzo and your carpet are the same colourways lol ! Looking foward to your new adventures with your trailer ! Lovely vlog a smile from G and Enzo posing .. Congratulations to the grandparents 😊🎉💙💙💙🍼🍼🍼 .Warmest Mary
Congrats on the new grandson and thanks for the tip on the fusible batting! I was just dreading the thought of basting a quilt I need to get done! Totally am going to use the fusible !
Your new cordless iron will make fusible sandwiching even more easy peasy. What a stunning pattern and color way for baby Silas’s quilt!. BTW the “heartbeat” baby quilt top I made for my onliest grandbaby Brielle was approx twin size, so half of it is waiting for her future sibling. And hopefully I can put my hands on it in time!
i came across you on line it looked interesting so i clicked on you.....i'm so glad I did.....you are a sweetheart and I love watching you....i am going to star watching all your videos
Thanks for the tip about the fusible batting. I have mild asthma and the basting sprays always trigger an attack so I end up pin basting everything. Very time consuming. I will definitively have to find that Hobbs fusible. By the way, I love your grandson's quilt.
your hive is soooo nice and organized! I truly believe you get more done when your area is uncluttered, ,,yours looks WONDERFUL! and I am drooling over that bicycle pattern!
HI and thank you for the fun and new approach to quilting! Use the new iron! Will you do a video of you quilting the project? Congratulations on the birth of your grandson, he's very lucky to have you both as grandparents!
Thank you...we feel blessed. My quilting is not very professional and a full contact sport, LOL...but once I get it tacked down with the boring stuff and actually do some fun quilting I will!
I was thinking that maybe I would just use it in the Bee Hive and take it on the road because as you can tell in the video the iron cord drives me nuts!!!
H. Wolfe , it took several weeks going through my stash, matching what to choose to go with the background pieces I had chosen. When I started, it was fun doing the " grandmother's fan" so that was only about a week.. The rest was bogged down off and on. So I think it was about four months. Good luck with yours. Have fun. I did.
Congratulations on the birth of your new grandson!!! His quilt is ADORABLE....you accomplish so much. You will like how bright the new LED light is. You always make me smile. Can't wait for your next video!!!
I love your channel but can't help but giggle at your thumbnail, you so look exactly like the scene in which Annie Wilkes comes into Paul Sheldons room holding up a copy of one of his books she just bought. Lol, great movie.
@@quiltroadies1695 the movie was called Misery. Lol, not that it was a bad thumbnail at all, but if you saw the movie you would see the resemblance, too funny, the way she holds the book up to show him and smiles. Absolutely love your channel 😻
How are you going to do your quilting on that dinky table? I watch you because I want to learn how you quilt and sew on the road, which is what I plan on doing. Did your husband and you not think about and plan that you need more table space for your awesome talent? Love you so far but I want to see more of you sewing and quilting in the RV :)
you just watch me!!! LOL Where there is a will there is a way and in fact I am going to have more space to spread out than in the RV! When we were tire kicking that was the first question...where am I going to quilt?! LOL once quilt show is over we are heading up in the woods and I will be quilting :) It is such a good feeling when you are quilting in your RV because you feel like you didn't have to give up quilting life for the roadie life!
Like you videos and I feel like I've found a new friend! Are you going to add borders to the quilt behind you? Or are you adding a dark border? It would look great with a pieced stop border from you leftover layer cake grey and blacks. Your sewing space looks awesome. May we have a tour, especially your storage pace? Safe travels this summer, and have a great time at Houston!
you do have a new friend! The border is the same as the background...no excitement there but I am going to add a black binding...cause I know the dirt will be a factor, lol. I love my sewing space...since we built the house I was able to lay it out just the way I wanted. I am enjoying it alot! Last year I think there is a video with a tour of the space :) Thank you for hanging with us!
That was so easy. I like that you work bare footed. I use to have shoe I only used for my sewing room. We are full timer RV. I take my sewing machine with me in the RV. Home base for us is Lake Stevens, WA. May I ask were your from?? I can't stand not taking my sewing machine either. I need to find projects to do or I'm going stir crazy. I need to go through my stuff to take with me. We live in 21 foot RV so I have little room to work.
Working bare footed allows you to grip fabric that has fallen on the ground 😂 I'm from Oregon via New York and California. Our camper is 20 feet so we have the same space issues😜
Thanks for the update on your projects Anna. Silas' quilt too turned out very cute. Looking forward to see how you quilt it design wise. Glad you had a good day in the hive.
Love your videos ! Cute quilt! Do you wash your quilts before giving them away? I do, but it is something I wonder about with others. Especially baby quilts. I like to see how they are going to do before giving away. However, then they aren't as pristine and new and perfect looking. So I wondered.
I can't imagine there would be a problem because it is pretty light weight...I am going to be hand stitching through it when I get back home on a wall hanging...will post the results!
