The slowing down of time from all this speed of computation reminds me of the Butlerian Jihad from the Dune series by Frank Herbert. Thanks Sevilla for pointing this out, it deeply resonates with me. Love your work!
I find it interesting on pondering on what has come together ( the build up ) to the nexus point so to speak. From a macro perspective as JBP would say that the current generations living on the earth likely live a life of far greater abundance and comfort as well as much longer lifespans than the generations that have come before it. It could be rationally argued that this enabling abundance has been somewhat fuelled by materialism and in part the drive for profit which has created a lot of the challenges we now face., but at the same time created the space ( enabling constraints ) to address these challenges. We are certainly living in a very complex but exciting time. Ironically for me if it was not for the pandemic and been locked up at home for so long I would not have likely come across this little corner. 😊
