MORE On Tim Ballard And The LDS Church Statement 

I'm with you, brother/sister! I just keep hearing the savior's words: "by their fruits ye shall know them." That movie has the power to save millions of children from abuse!

Movies are propaganda my friend. They rarely reflect the truth. I saw the underground railroad documentary years ago and had the exact opposite reaction. I told my wife "this guy is trying to be a white savior, he has a God complex, he's doing illegal shit going into these countries. Any reputable law enforcement would be offended at his conduct. Only corrupt ones will play his game. He is a fraudster and he will be exposed. Look at his eyes and look at how much he talks about himself. Good guys don't do that. CIA guys NEVER mention they worked for the organization. It's illegal! Tim lied about that."

Project Me Protect is now big in South America which teaches children what is right and wrong concerning the safety of their bodies. It is spreading like wildfire and teaches children how to stay safe from traffickers and grooming.

I agree Skyleen,and Vice news is a group that is very hostile towards the LDS church as well as the film Sound Of Freedom,as Greg pointed out in this video and I think a lot of us most definitely agree on that for sure. And there are many so called Christian bloggers that have come out against Tim Ballard since the movie made its debut(as you have correctly alluded to) a few months ago. Something is not adding up here,and I think there could be a possibility of a political hit job by Vice to turn the church against Tim. And if that is the case,then Vice needs to apologize for what they have done and be held accountable. He was invited to an event at Davis High school around July 4th of 2020(my mom had earned a community service award,and Tim was a speaker who spoke that day about our country's history and what freedom means/is,he knows his stuff I feel like). So it seems that there are more questions here than answers.

Agreed. I've been following Tim Ballard for a long time and he's only extremely rarely mentioned, and vaguely, the church. And never have I heard him mention Elder Ballard at all.

I too have supported them and followed their good work. And I've never heard him mention Elder Ballard. I don't know where all this is coming from. But I will be paying close attention to General Conference next weekend.

This is earth shaking material, that unfortunately, the church will not speak of again. Once they say their piece, that's it. We deserve to know more. We already are on a precipice as a church. People say we could never be led astray, but....

The editor of Deseret News asked for a statement on the what was happening and they received the exact same statement from the church. It is a real statement.

Vice is garbage. And we don't know what his local leadership has said to him. You are taking his word on it, even as he keeps repeating "he's like a grandfather to me!! He's like my grandfather!" Which is... he's betraying his own defensive habits, to linking himself to Ballard, even while being accused of doing that.

That is just so hard to believe.

If the leaders of the church truly feel this way. Then the people that had this put out have been compromised. And this will make the whole church look really bad. I hope this isn’t the case. I was taught that Christ was all about love and forgiveness. Not reputation and appearance.

Tim Ballard isn't a hero. Get real. I have two sons in the military. They're heros. Go to San Diego USMC, US Naval academy or any military installation. There you'll find people doing selfless things. Ballard never worked for the CIA. He lied about that. He's also left a wake of destruction behind him on his "rescue missions". The guy is a fraud. This has happened before with employees issuing statements for the leaders when it was later not shown to be true. For example, last year there was one where the letterhead wasn't stamped right or didn't have the right setup or something on the letterhead. And then a corrected statement came later. I strongly suspect that VICE fabricated the statement from the Church. The Church would not make any statements to VICE, especially not about this.

I agree with you 100%. This is not how the church would have worded anything. It’s smarmy and disparages Bro Ballard which is not in keeping with Pres Nelson’s council to be peacemakers. I belong to a website/chat called LDS AVOW and his mother in law finally broke his silence and commented on it. We didn’t even know there was a relation there. The Church reached out to their family and in keeping with how they operate, they don’t respond to these things via media, especially media outlets that hate them. I was happy to hear they made contact with them recently asking them to keep the faith. Funny how this bubbled up as soon as mittens decided he wasn’t running and Tim has expressed interest in doing so.

I absolutely agree with you. I have been so disgusted with BYU because of what I’ve heard about some of the professors. And I am deeply disgusted that the church has come in any way, shape or form against Tim. I have known him from the start before he ever started OUR and he is absolutely very close to being a saint!!! And we're almost out of time. Its mercy to give them another chance. To escape their fate and anguish. For the anguish the unrepentant experience and will experience even more after, pity them rather than be angry.

I totally agree! It is inconceivable to me, that The Church of Jesus Christ of latter day Saints would use a despicable disgusting rag like VICE to blindside and disparage a member. I imagine the Church is having their people investigate all of this. It may take some time for them to release anything cuz this may be a trap. They have to be careful not to become ensnared in it. If the Church were to release anything, I seriously doubt they would release it to Vice or any other unsavory news outlet. Things don't add up. Something smells fishy. @kz6fittycent Very true. It's important to avoid the contention and let the Spirit guide us. Perhaps the reason we're not getting a big explanation from Church leadership and even brother Tim Ballard has quieted is that the Stake President(s) and Bishop(s) are doing what they are called to do. I'm good with that. I don't think the media, social or otherwise, will be good with it, but I am.

If it was a hack job, it seems like the church would have come out very quickly with an explanation. The church has been silent for 3 days...

The same statement was sent to Deseret News and Fox 13 from the Church.

However it seems that it was released to Vice and after they published then it was sent to Fox 13 and Deseret News… doesn’t seem that they sent it until these other news agencies saw the Vice report… And I was VERY disappointed in the reporting by both Fox 13 and Deseret News. They both just basically regurgitated the Vice article…. Zero journalism was done by either organization

We need new (local/regional) news media. I can't hardly watch local news on any channel, any more. 😵‍💫 Utah needs another choice and YOU are just what we need. (Cwic) I have a list of like-minded media people who would love to come on board if there was someplace to go. Everyone sounds the same and it seems they only cater to liberal SLC constituents. So many people would migrate to a fair and balanced local, Utah news source. (Maybe except for advertisers...🤔) 😢 Somebody, help! 🙉 (How about the AFN? The America First Network!) I'll write the first check! ... I can dream anyway.😴

Greetings neighbor, Why would the vindication of Mr. Ballard be at the expense of your faith? Is your faith grounded on the LDS chruch? If so, why?

@titus31-79 I'm really glad you worded that question the way you did. Thank you for reminding me that my faith is not in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the institution. My faith is in Jesus Christ, and remebering that helps me sort things out. I've been thinking it over. The big trouble is that I don't know who wrote the denouncement of Tim Ballard. If there is no name on the statement, and no word from the First Presidency or any other department, I am compelled to say the Church is in the wrong in this case. They broke their own policy against naming members who may be subject to disciplinary council. They may also be factually wrong about Tim Ballard as well, seeing as how the investigation is not complete. It breaks my heart to see this happening to my church. However, it's good once in a while to question whether my faith is in the institution, or in Jesus Christ. So again, thank you.

The truth shall eventually come forth one way or another. Also, it is intriguing that you refer to the LDS church as an institution...have you ever pondered why it is you do that? It would seem to me you are keenly aware of the true nature of the churches in these last days, which is that they are indeed institutions, or it can be said, corporations...and that of men. Why do I say that? Well, the church of Jesus Christ is not an institution, or a corporation. She is referred to as the bride of Christ. Corporations have departments, corporations have presidents. The church of Jesus Christ does not have presidents, she does not have departments. It is written: *Ephesians 5:25-27* 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Jesus is looking for a church without spot or wrinkle. This is not referring to an institution or a corporation. It is referring to a precious few group of people who love him and will obey him in all things. I pray you consider the things set forth.
