Are you in South Africa? They know it because they live it. Especially the poor. People with money have security. The poor and the vulnerable(women and children) are the ones who know it best.
How rediculous that our murder rate is worse than an active war zone but no surprise. As a people the moral compass seems to be all but missing in South Africa today.
Why not employ more competent people instead of using private security. If your police cannot investigate properly or apply the law properly, they need to be out by the door.
The ANC are there for themselves only. The murder rate does not concern them they have round the clock bodyguards. The problem now is not THE ANC, it is the people that continue to vote for them. I am a black south african woman and I hear a lot of people in my township saying they will vote for them next year even in my family. Those who are fed up simply stobbed voting. I use very opportunity to explain that if you don't vote you help the ANC to get the majority, just vote for any other party, slowly they will lose the majority and over time they will be out.
@@Ocean-ck8io correct and the decline is also less people being found guilty of murder, even though a person died. It's rigged by a limp justice system. How the stats are twisted often play a pivotal role in misrepresenting the situation
In the Vietnam war the US lost 52k soldiers over a period of aprox 5years of full scale war with machine guns, bombs, planes and artillery... and in SA over 5years span double that was murdered. We are indeed a nation of violent savages.
The USA lost 58 000 soldiers in 20 years in Vietnam. The Russians have lost over twice that amount in 2 years in Ukraine. SA's murder rate is also higher than the losses in the ongoing Syrian civil war.
@@former9085 theres is a diffs betweeen the Vietnam "protracted war" and official boots on ground full scale war. True on Syrian war... it should not be forgotten anf could also be used as benchmark.
@@user-ez9en7vk2z 58 000 US servicemen were killed in 20 years in Vietnam. Their names are on the Vietnam Wall memorial in Washington. Now tell me how many US servicemen were killed: 1. In the protracted war. 2. On ground full scale war. And, is the number and dates of their death on the wall correct?
Ukraine has lost 400 000 + plus soldiers to date. Not belittling the murders in SA. Every one is one too many. He should have said that in the 20yr war in afghanistain which saw the deaths of 2400 US soldiers . Works out at just over 2 deaths per week vs SAs 560 murders per week. 28000+ per year. Even if you include all deaths in Afghanistan war death rate is 27 per day based on estimate of 200 000 total in 20yrs.
What is the cause of this?before some people came we had no crime, when they were in goverment we knew of crime, when puppets are in control crime is worse.
Who has always been the benefactor of the Prison Industrial Complex in South Afrika since the first prison was built here ? Crime is intrinsically connected to poverty and economic exclusion . If you live in the most unequal society on earth with the largest landscape of impoverished ghettos tell me what do you expect ? Natives os about say 98% of the prison populate and there's a reason for that and it's called economic exclusion
Go and look at the top 10 poorest countries in the world Their crime rate is extremely lower than ours We just hv a culture of violence in this country
Yes crime and poverty are linked, but not intrinsically. Crime causes poverty, poverty does not cause crime for eg. corrupt government cause poverty, poverty does not cause corrupt government. SA is not the most unequal nation but it is one if the most poorly managed nations. The liberation government disenfranchised its people in the same way ZanuPF disenfranchised their people. 9 out 10 unemployed. The government collapsed business away with BEE and competent public sector management with cadre deoyment. No cadre can do the job they're paid to, take a look around you. The government crashed Eskom because they're either too incompetent too police the nation or because it suits them. It suited Zuma. The masses disenfranchised themselves too, by voting for con artist politicians and shot themselves in the foot. They thought they knew better. The blacks in prison are not in prison because they were economically excluded. They are in prison because they broke the law. They chose to break the law instead of working like other people do. Instead of upgrading themselves by studying, like other people do. Don't kid yourself, their are plenty of law abiding and successful blacks in SA.
@@not.likely Eskom collapse at first because it wasn't design to service 55 million plus Industry it's purpose was to serve 5 million plus Industry. BEE is a farce and if you argue not it was never implemented. Poverty is humanly engineered it takes laws and legislation to disenfranchised almost 55 million of Natives. Cadre deployment is a term that has been successfully used in SA to indicate to a people that view themselves superior with a superior knowledge which to me points more to a physiological issue. Whites are the only benefactors of this Prison Industrial Complex in SA to such an extent that majority of the farming industry was built on the exploitation of free prison labour for centuries I don't expect you to feel any sense of rumours for millions of Native children that burns to death annually because of the living conditions they're subjected to for centuries because I also understand that there's a deep struggle to appeal to a man's conscious who has none
