Really love the news you bring -- Great video as always! I enjoyed the ceremony - I like the long version. For me it was fun to see them just enjoying life and hear all the extra banter - but I think they should also do a cut/highlight version for people that just want the quick main points (I think that is your job though?). @6:40 A fair - unbiased - look at the Best Clutch would be Zywoo - Here is why .. - Monesy clutch was excellent shooting but against pistol - eco round - against an astralis that did not perform. Zywoo and Cadian clutches were against rifles and better team at the time. - Cadian clutch was great too. His clutch was against rifles and a really good team at the time but because his clutch was against poor decisions by the CT team - just like the Zywoo clutch. The CT team (Vitality Magisk) should not have >pushed< into Cadian. Cadian did not have to be the agressor but even with his skill should NOT have won this round. This is really a close TIE to Zywoo clutch. This is why you don't push against an excellent player like Cadian - he will destroy you and Vitality played that round like noob. Zywoo clutch was best because Zywoo HAD to be the agressor with the bomb planted and he had to defuse - the pressure was much greater here (with the bomb planted). Mistakes again by the T side (G2) (but smaller mistakes than Vitality/Cadian clutch) and they (G2) were a good team at the time of clutch. Close to the Cadian and almost a 'tie' but the added 'pressure'' with the bomb planted makes this a tiebreaker. That is how I see it - unbiased cause I am a Faze/Liquid/Complexity/'any underdog' fan. Does anyone see something different (unbiased of course)?

Just want to give kudos to FlameZ, before the ceremony he said that he will be disappointed if he wins instead of Magisk since he also believed Magisk was better

How is monesy highlight better than Zywoo or cadiaN ones ? The "only" good thing about it is the fact that it's flashy. But it was vs an eco round and he didn't even have to move his crosshair since they all went into it. On top of that, it wasn't even a clutch. The debate was clearly between Zywoo and cadiaN there. And tbh, it's a tought choice to make cause they are both really impressive. I would say Zywoo one's is a bit harder to make because of the combinaison of : AWP retake against 4 armed players, a silent drop under pressure, and a last kill through smoke. But tbh, cadiaN clutch was also pretty impressive : 1v5 and indirectly helped for the comeback So in the end, don't mix flashy actions that only require good crosshair placement to literal clutchs under pressure where skills AND brain matter.

I think the Top 30 are the bigger "scandal", jks & flameZ nominated for closer of the year, not even in Top 30. On a less serious note: No FL1T / Jame even tho Jame has similar stats to SunPayus, Krimbo also had a year that should have put him in Top 30.

In my humble opinion ,Zywoo's clutch was the best from a technical point of view. That round was lost and only Zywoo could have clutched that. All the small decisions he made during that clutch showed his superior gamesense. That clutch needed Big Brains not aim, which makes it so special. M0nesy's clutch was against eco, where Astralis were trying to rush the awp. Basically thay walked into his crosshair and he clicked. His 1v4 against Navi was way better constructed. There was no controversy in highloght of the year, only Monesy fans crying. Anyone who understands the nuances of CS knows that Zywoo's highlight was betterThe panel that voted, consist of pro players and coaches. Even Mauisnake, a known Zywoo hater, conceded that Zywoo's highlight was better. Monesy's might be flashy but Zywoo's was cerebral where he used his brain and gamesense.

Lul when S1mple said he was going to retire (first time I saw that is with your vid) I was like half shocked and half laughing and SpunJ like thinking what he was thinking and maybe it was something like "What, are you serious usually you retire at a work place at 60 or 65 years and like in Esports maybe 30 or 40 when thing's are going downhill" LUL. Zywoo seemed happy to have won good for him. Yes I agree Ropz play style is something to watch out for. I agree Niko looked sharp and glad that he also won. Uhm OKAY that 3rd deagle kill of M0nesy I mean is it just me or did it looked miss??? But all 3 was like excellent play's glad I didn't had to judge. Nertz 4k vs Heroic had way more impact and was hype as fuck. Zywoo's 4k against cloud9 was more impressive. It is crazy that M0nesy's 1v5 a couple weeks ago and instead they put his meaningless eco ace in there.

I think Zywoo won because it was a 1v4 retake with an AWP which is almost imposible to pull off since you are alone against 4 people playing afterplant positions, and nobody from the oponent team made a mistake (except for the first guy peeking from heaven maybe). Much harder than holding one part of a map, or playing 1vX on a T side with the bomb. I still think CadiaN should have won, but I do not agree m0nesy's highlight was better than Zywoo's Just my opinion

Im a Zywoo fan but about Highlight of the year I need to agree that M0nesy clip is better than his but about other categories I think it was deserved each single of then

If there's anyone robbed it's nertz or flamez for highlight of the year, because their highlights were more impressive than monesy's. Deagle 4k is cool but it's against tec9s and the last kill was a bit messy. Cadian's highlights is great, but you can blame Vitality there too. Zywoo's clutch is perfection which only masters of this game can pull off

I agree Zywoo's highlight is not as impactful as the other considering when it happened, if we must choose one from Zywoo his 1 v 4 against ENCE or the door shenanigans on B site Nuke against for instance. I'm not sure what you mean by "beauty" for M0NESY's highlight though, to me it's like people talking about the "beauty" of mathematics equation, I just don’t see it. Unless it’s part of an overarching narrative, which is not what I’d include in my assessment of those highlights. Here is how I see this : M0NESY’s was skilful as in raw mechanic skill allowing him to overtake the odds. Zywoo’s was clever, it was nearly 100% game sense that allowed him to be one step aheadof G2 every step of the clutch. Cadian was a bit of both with good flick shoot combined with excellent game read. And here lies the problem of this category, it’s not well defined what we are to look for and so it might as well be a popularity contest. My favourite is Zywoo’s because of the game sense aspect, I admire that a lot of his clutch don’t even rely on his good aim thanks to his decision making being on point. I’d accept Cadian’s highlight being selected though and I actually expected he would win when they announced the nominees, because it also rely on a fair amount of game sense and was way more important to the result of the game against Vitality. M0NESY though, it’s just him getting excellent deag shot in a pinch, it reminds me of Happy’s one in the same position all those years ago, it’s jaw’s dropping, it’s cinematic for sure, but it doesn’t blow my mind the way Cadian and Zywoo does.

If I’m being honest I would totally be on the side of Cadian or monesy winning assuming hltv was being consistent between years. Monesy won last year off of a mechanically nice but also a completely inconsequential round winning ace. It meant nothing to the result of the match. Ropz was absolutely robbed last year. This makes it so you’d think flashy was more important than impact on the game. But hltv being so inconsistent makes it so I really don’t care who won it although I’m honestly happy Monesy didn’t because of the Ropz robbery last year.

I agree Zywoo's clutch was more impressive. The big risk he took by going for 1v4 instead of saving AWP adds to it. If m0nesy's scout ace happened in a tournament, it would be untouchable.

M0nesy's ace is impressive, yes. But it was against a full eco & wasn't at the most important tournament of the year. Cadian's 1v5 is also impressive & the fact that it seemingly turned the game around makes it even better but the frags weren't so impressive after all. And it was at the Blast Falls groups which is not even as important as Blast World Finals. Zywoo's 1v4 is the best because not only the play he made was insane (the shot onto the heaven player, then the silent drop, the collateral shot & the last shot through smoke) but it was also at the best & the most important tournament of the year. Not a robbery at all, just facts.

in my opinion there should be 2 awards when it comes to frags 1.) Highlight frag of the year = the craziest frags , no matter of their importance (monesy's deagle clip for example or or cadians deagle 4k on overpass) 2.) Play of the year = impressive frag that was also very hard to pull off and had big impact on game (zywoo 1vs4 , cadian 1vs5 etc)

I agree, the ceremony felt long, but we have to understand the ceremony isnt just for the viewers, in fact it's for the people there, the viewers are just spectating really. I'm sure I'm not the only one who found pala to be a little much, but he brought as much energy as he could to the crowd lol. And I was annoyed at all the ad breaks, I quit watching and watched the vod later so I could fast forward through them, but I understand this was an expensive ceremony and they have to pay for it somehow. All in all, I think everyone there had a fantastic time. Maybe to see you there next year???
